One is the Alice in Chains I just tookI think this is the third pair drafter where the self-titled album is the later of the two. Can't remember the others though.
I am having a weird, vague Buffy the Vampire Slayer association with this one.Moorcheeba -- alt rock/r&b/electronica trip hoppers since the turn of the century hay days. When they added singer Skye Edwards to the project the sound became Sade meets Portishead. Mix in some Jamaican vocals and a little rap, and the first pick below works for me. Only their 3rd best-selling effort from the turn of the century, but after repeated listens, my favorite.
I like the current release even better. Trip Hop lives.

Bridgerton is a Regency drama. It takes place in 1813, so no Queen Victoria (who wasn't born until 1819).rockaction said:I gave this some thought last night. Does this mean that the show is tawdry, really? It seemed like a Victorian period piece. Has Queen Victoria been sullied??
Inquiring minds...
You must love REM's Eponymous album.Random feeling of mine: I don't like it when bands have a self-titled album. Self-titled song doesn't bother me but self-titled album seems to show a lack of creativity.

Those years check out. 1993 was the MGs tour. He's done a bunch of solo tours but one was in 1992.Two of my favorite shows were two very different Neil Young shows. One was him, solo, mostly on piano, at a small theater in Boston (1992 maybe?). The other was him rocking with Booker T and the MGs (1993 I think?)

FYI, you can mark me down as another adult male who actively listens to Taylor Swift. I didn't start until last December, but her two 2020 albums are both fantastic and anyone who is a music fan should give them a listen.Man, I was trying to avoid the political drama in here....
Also, I'm blown away with the Taylor Swift selections by what I assume are middle aged dudes?? Not that there's anything wrong with that. My daughter and her friends are into her. I just don't know any adult male who actively listens to her.
This Taylor swift "old dude" phenomena is something I had no idea existed......is there a Jonas brothers thing too??FYI, you can mark me down as another adult male who actively listens to Taylor Swift. Also, go look up her sales over the years, especially of physical product. She moves more CDs and vinyl than just about anybody these days, and you don't do that by appealing to just teenage girls (which is the stereotype). People of all kinds listen to Ms. Swift. Get on board, there is plenty of room.![]()
I would say teenage girls aren’t her major demo. It’s more like women in their 20s and early 30s. That’s the audience that grew up with her.FYI, you can mark me down as another adult male who actively listens to Taylor Swift. Not to my knowledge. This Taylor swift "old dude" phenomena is something I had no idea existed......is there a Jonas brothers thing too??
Perhaps, but there is a general rock forum I go to (another forum!!), which is mostly men in their 30's and older, and there are quite a few Taylor fans there. That is what got me interested, as I kept seeing her name get mentioned like in threads about favorite lyricists or favorite songwriters of the 21st century, stuff like that, so I was like, hmmmm, I must be missing out on something. Turns out I was.I would say teenage girls aren’t her major demo. It’s more like women in their 20s and early 30s. That’s the audience that grew up with her.
Check out her two 2020 albums, Folklore and Evermore. Both are outstanding. They are not as immediate as her pop hits, but the more you listen, the more you get lost in that laid back vibe. There is almost no country or pop on those records, it's more like laid back folksy indie rock (but the records do not rock at all). And they are both brilliant lyrically. She gets crap for supposedly always writing about exes, and for sure she has written her share of those, but the lyrics on these two albums, while occasionally pulling from her own experiences, are mostly fictional narratives. If this respected audience likes Taylor Swift, that's good enough for me. I know a few of her bigger hits, but where should I start with her best quality stuff?
What is this forum? I don't want to cheat on FBG, but this sounds interesting. #keypartyPerhaps, but there is a general rock forum I go to (another forum!!), which is mostly men in their 30's and older,

Well, sure, but you make new fans along the way. My 14-year old niece loves Taylor. My 42-year old male cousin is a fan. I know a guy from NY who is mid 50's and has also become a big fan in the last year. Even if her core is what you say it is, and that might be the case, you do not stay as popular and relevant as she has for this long now without constantly picking up new fans.I’m not saying there aren’t adult male Swift fans. I was just saying her core (like her) is a bit older now. They were teens but have grown. Red is almost a decade old now. That and 1989 were huge with the girls in HS then. Those kids I taught are now in grad school, married, working alongside me, etc.
Yeah certainly. I’m really not criticizing you, more supporting you for the crowd saying Swift is just for teen girls. That may have been the case 15 years ago but she and her music have matured quite a bit over time.Well, sure, but you make new fans along the way. My 14-year old niece loves Taylor. Oh man, this was going to be my pick tomorrow.I find the reductive talk about Taylor Swift as boring as the counter-reductive talk. That's my two cents.
Okay, it's 11 AM EST.
Here are a triad that's predictable from me but hits all the right decades. The production of EL-P and Trackstar mixed with the rap duo stylings of Jaime Melina and Michael Renner (El-P and Killer Mike) are festival favorites and rap impresarios everywhere. If ever there was an on-brand pick for somebody in this draft, this was it, but it hits all the right decades, checks the boxes, and puts a bunch of good records on my metaphorical decade island.
