Whether or not it was Gilligan‘s intent, the show so far is a blistering commentary on the rise of AI. The real time pro-and-conning of “us” giving Carol a nuke cemented it for me.

Hadn't considered the AI angle...nice.

For me its been the obvious study in philosophy and psychology of the self vs society. What does it mean to be selfish (in good and bad ways)? And to sublimate. Does combined and shared knowledge of society enhance the individual or destroy them?

While i appreciate the TV making and providing the inspiration for thought, im not as jumpy&quo about it as the rest of you. I think for now, im not overly enjoying her constant irritation and curmudgeonry.

I like the show a lot. Just thought 3 dragged. The ice hotel. The grocery store. Just meh for me.

I'm OK with unlikeable main characters if they're well done (Succession) but it takes great writing and acting to pull it off. So far the main character in this show is just extremely annoying and dumb. I was hoping for more of a story from the other 'survivors' - how can they possibly just think this is all OK and keep hanging out with their family members? Maybe the guy in S. America will bring something good to the show. I'm still watching.
