This is the best poker TV show I have seen in forever. It's free on YouTube. Not saying anything else as they are 6 episodes in and its not over. Must watch imo.

I've enjoyed it. Unique format, makes for great background TV while I am working
What is so unique about the format?
here is the trailer

Looks scripted based on the trailer…some bad acting there.

It is a reality based show mixed with poker so it is going to have that sort of feel at times. I am still watching episode 1 so I don't have an opinion yet.

Starts with 16 players.

First Round - They are divided into 4 teams of 4. Play a series of 4 player SNGs with 1 player from each team, with each SNG worth escalating points. At the end of the 4 SNGs, the team with the lowest total points is eliminated.

Second Round - Down to 12 players, the 4 players from the team that won are separated and made team captains. They then do a draft of the remaining players to make new 3 man teams. This round is head to head with a twist. It's teams vs each other - each team puts out their first player and they play heads up. If you win, you stay, if you lose, you are out and your teammate takes your spot. Restart heads up play. Once all 3 players from a team have lost, they are knocked out and the other team advances to play the winner of the other pairing.

This is where we are at now, so can only assume what the next stages are. In addition to team points, individuals get points based on how they do.

Now, in addition to this which has plenty of reality show elements, if you enjoy watching poker, some good youtube streams are the Live at the Bike shows, the Hustler Casino Live and Poker at the Lodge. Basically livestreams of higher stakes cash games, occasionally escalating up to some insane nosebleed stakes.

I still can't really figure out what the format is from the trailer. It really doesn't give you much at all about what they are doing. Somehow widdling down from 16 to win in some survivor style poker show. Not sure about it.

ETA: I posted this at the same time as acarey's post just above this one. Thanks for the synopsis. That makes much more sense as to what is happening.

On episode 3. It is interesting albeit a little cheesy with the heavy editing and background music to build tension and drama. I enjoy listening to all the commentary of the players backstage watching from their team rooms. Josh Arieh has called DNegs a Richard a few times already.

Anything involving Jungle has the potential to be awesome.
He has been the least interesting character so far. Seems to be asleep most of the time
I haven't watched, but I did see a poll Daniel had on X asking who everyone's favorite character has been. Jungle replied laughing that he was winning the poll even though he was asleep through most of the episodes. Funny that you said the same thing. Still... nobody has the entertainment upside as Jungle. Maybe Daniel if he losses his temper again... maybe JaKoon or Fedor if they get into strategy. But Jungle, man... he can go so many different ways with things.

I just finished episode 8 and it was best in an already good series.

Is Jungleman autistic (ie on the spectrum some where) or is it mostly an act? I can't figure him out.
