Prince Dead at 57 R.I.P. (1 Viewer)

All the great ones are going.  Lemmy, then Bowie, now Prince.  The age of rock stars is over.

This really sucks.
Someone (in a movie ;)  ) once said: "I can't hack this surfing ####! Rock n Roll aint been the same since Buddy Holly died"

There are more where those came from.

####### A.  What terrible news.  Super downer.

Although I am happy that I got to see him kill it in Baltimore last year.  Only time I got to see him live.  I was hoping to get another chance because he was incredible.

Super sucks.  On my bucket list was hitting up one of his impromptu jam sessions at Paisley Park.  Hope that one was written in pencil. :(

RIP

What was his story with being on streaming services and youtube?  I know all artists hate that their #### was on youtube but searching for Prince on Youtube (because most of his stuff is not on Spotify) always seemed like he was more vigilant than any other artist in having it remove.  There would even be cover versions that would be gone in 2 days.  There was a jazz (no lyrics) 3 piece version of Diamonds and Pearls that I loved and was gone in 3 days.

Just interested in reading anything on this particular subject if it's available.  He seems to be, by far, the hardest one to track down the music of.

There'll be one more in the coming week. Chyna, Prince, ? These things always happen in 3's. People like to joke, but the Illuminati is real.

What terrible news. I would never call him one of my favorite artists, but certainly one of the most talented I've ever heard. An all-time great.

57 is so damn young.

He gets very little credit for it, but anyone who knows/plays guitar, he was one of the slickest.

Not only that, I remember reading played all 30 or so instruments on some of his albums. arranged and everything. That's insanity
Dude was a musical genius and I don't use the term lightly. Would produce and mix all his stuff well before everything became computerized.

Sucky news. :-(

Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
To get through this thing called life

Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here to tell you
There's something else
The after world

A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun, day or night

So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
You know the one, Dr. Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby

'Cause in this life
Things are much harder than in the after world
In this life
You're on your own

And if the elevator tries to bring you down...
Go crazy, punch a higher floor!

wow stinks he was one of the greats really liked his guitar playing and i like to put down my windows and cruise around to morning papers thats a good little b side diddy take that to the bank

He was such an enormous talent, and so generous with his talents in helping mentor others in their quest to achieve their musical dreams. He was one of the good guys and one-of-a-kind. He was a great entertainer too. I loved watching him move and groove on stage as much as hearing him sing and play. 57 is too young. RIP Prince
