Prince Dead at 57 R.I.P. (1 Viewer)

Have we had prince overload yet?  I think we should be set now.
The drug dealer giving an interview about how Prince was addicted to opiates for 25+ years pretty much seals it for me. The tributes are cool, the new albums will be neat, time to move on. All we're going to do now is tear down the impression every one had of the man.

That's rich, lol.  Not being addicted but being a sanctimonious religious #######.

I was in our Eden Prairie office on Thursday.  Had 4:30am ride to airport for 6am flight Friday morning.  6 of us went to downtown Minneapolis and joined the Memorial party in front of First Avenue after learning of Prince's death.  Went to outdoor concerts and then several different clubs - all playing Prince music.  Very surreal with crowd singing and then people dancing in clubs to his songs - made the decision to play through all night until my flight.  Very sad to see this legend go way too early at 57.  We used to go to TigerJam, Tiger's benefit concert every year at the Mandalay Bay, and Prince was the best one ever.

News flash. Rock stars do drugs

The reports are obviously coming from the same source so hardly confirmed, but if Prince died from Percocet that is especially ####ty. Likely not even a "drug overdose" in the usual sense, but the acetaminophen causing kidney failure. Not opiate toxicity. If anything he was more likely on the other end of the spectrum and dope sick if he was taking that much percocet. There's no way he wasn't aware of the danger in doing that so that suggests he was not able to get the drugs he usually took. Just such a bummer all the way around.

Noticed this (of course), and hope he was hosting the party.

BTW - Maya Rudolph gets a pass as she's an uber fan, and in a cover band called "Princess". Saw it last night.  Decent show.  She's obviously a real, devoted fan.
There's a whole story Fallon told leading up to this on SNL. He was hosting the party and Chappelle told him Prince was there. So Fallon announced if Prince was in the room, to come up and sing. So he did.

God that's really sad if that's the way it played out, if you think this was pain because he couldn't get a surgery that is not generally seen as being complicated or dangerous due to his hip woes.

Also wonder if wearing heels everyday didn't mess up his body

We discussed doing purple Twins tees but decided against it...no need to mess with Prince's estate.
I wondered if the Twins or Vikings would do a uniform patch of the glyph, but I doubt either will go that far.

Maybe if it will happen after the will reading, when we discover Prince is a previously-undisclosed minority owner of a team.  Like how he would have been if Jimmy Jam Harris's bid to buy the Timberwolves back in the 1990s had actually happened.

ETA: the estate battle could get ugly.  No widow, no kids, both parents deceased, but a sister and a few half-siblings.
