Frozen pizza is the staple of any American diet. It is frickin fantastic. From low rent Totino's to pricey Newmans Own to organic Amy's blah blah blah. And everything in between. It's all frickin good. My preference for a value pie is Freschetta. No it's not great. It's also about $5.99. Get the pepperoni, add some deli ham, slather on a handful of extra cheese and it's a Ruth's Chris worthy meal. ;)

Meh. Tried it. It was fine.

Frozen pizza is something I’ve enjoyed most of my life. But at some point I just crossed over and liked fresh made pizza a lot more. Way more.

It’s sort of like being married and your spouse saying “hey, you should really use a condom.” Is that a big deal? Not really - but it isn’t really preferred.

Of course, I’m almost 50 now and married 25 years…….so any kind of pizza or $ex is unlikely to be on the agenda.

Well, that's a problem due to the high sodium content of frozen pizzas not to mention the cheaper processed ingredients used to keep costs down.

Monday Night in Hobe Sound - Two Brothers runs Large Cheese pizzas for $9.99 take out, hand tossed dough, real ingredients, one of the better local pizza joints around here
We prefer a Newhaven style pizza but we have to travel quite a ways to find one of those so we settle for something else closer

Home Run Inn is over $10 when they aren't on sale and I see several frozen pizzas now OVER $10 and they're frozen.
If I can get a fresh pie with quality ingredients for $10, seems like a better idea to grab a fresh one

-But I always try to keep an emergency frozen pie in the house, you never know when you are going to need them

for us, it is purely about convenience (not having to run out for it). also, we do not have any options around us for less then $20-25 per pizza.

My pet peeve is most places do not cook the pizzas or even when I say well done or golden brown they don't look any different
I hear you on the price of pizzas, it's gotten expensive many places

I miss Jack’s Naturally Rising pizza. They don’t sell them in FL. Their other pizzas are garbage, but love the naturally rising variety.
You shut your whore mouth. Jack's is my go to frozen pizza. And I can usually get them for $3 each.
Maybe you should reach out to Dave

He's a little bit catty in the video I would say, he did a slew of these during the pandemic

That UM, D-Bag holds no water with me... especially when it comes to Pizza. He complains that it's "floppy", but doesn't cook it enough. Plus, he only reviews cheese pizzas... Unless we're talking Margarita, put some damn meat and/or veggies on there. I give him a 0.8

ETA: Yes, it struck a nerve... 1) because he bothers me and 2) because he badmouthed Jack's. Carry on.

"I remember her from Hobe Sound...."

you have the greatest pizza place in the world right around the corner
I live a few blocks from Porta - which is a brick over pizza place in Asbury Park (and Jersey City). Wonder if its same ownership.
"No, the Porta pizzeria in Asbury Park, New Jersey is not the same as the frozen pizza company Porta. Porta Food is a frozen pizza company that was founded in 2021, while Porta is a pizzeria in Asbury Park that has been around since at least 2014."

The best I've had and it's not close. https://www.motorcitypizzacompany.com/our-products

Yeah, I just came to post this and I think (most of the time, depending on mood) that I would put Motor City first for frozen pizza.

Honorable mentions:

1.) Buddy's pizza - this is Detroit style (and we ate this in Detroit, honestly, it tastes the same) and the cons are that it's small, expensive, sweet and some people (legit) hate it while others love it.

2.) Heggie's sausage and pepperoni pizza - this one is a very good one imho and if you don't like this pizza then you hate America, I don't know what else to say and I can't help you. But, seriously, if you don't like this then you need to do some soul searching and ask yourself if you actually even like pizza.

3.) Giordano's Chicago style - if you don't like Chicago style this one is not for you. If you are a New York style pizza snob jerk, we can't be friends because I like both equally. I'm sorry but the world is big enough for all types of pizza. Jon Stewart's stupid rant is horrible, my brain became dumber after listening to that garbage take even though everyone said that was an impossibility, yet here we are. . . here we are.

4.) Screamin' Sicilian - to me, this is one is the OG. This was the first frozen pizza I ever had that I thought "wow, I didn't flush $8.00 down the drain, amazing" but, the thing about it is is that I do think Motor City, Buddy's, Heggie's and Giordano's are just a bit better.

5.) Kirkland Cauliflower Crust Pizza & Milton Cauliflower Crust - okay, okay, this is pizza for people that both hate delicious real pizza and America at the same time, this one's for you. . . j/k I love America and still enjoy this except we only get the sausage and pepperoni so I only eat this when I'm mad at America and hungry and all the good pizza is gone.

6.) California Pizza Kitchen - I mean, it's idiotically expensive not very filling because it's incredibly thin skinned. . . I mean thin crust and honestly a horrible value but despite that, when I'm eating it, I know I'm eating the most expensive, least fulfilling pizza yet the pizza (whispering in my ear, I know, it's odd) insists that it's vastly superior than other pizza's around it that are clearly much, much better. . . I sense a theme with this pizza.

Dishonorable mention :

1.) Kirkland Pepperoni Pizza : Our son makes us buy this and I cannot stress this, quite literally, tastes like cheese, sauce and pepperoni on cardboard. I would rather eat my wife's typical dinner (raw broccoli, raw carrots, tomatoes and cottage cheese) over this. . . okay not really but I will eat this but I always do a double take hoping to get a slice of the actual cardboard box the pizza came in over this.

Thanks. Had no idea Buddy's made a frozen pizza.

On a related note, has anyone ever had a pizza from one of those 24 hour automated machines? My local mall has one stationed near an entrance. You can walk up to it at 4am and walk away with a hot pizza. I myself have never craved such a thing enough to try it.

Milton's is gawd-aful.

We usually buy a Costco pepperoni and a cheese.

The first pizza night we will open pepperoni.

Take off all of the peperoni and sprinkle basil, red pepper flakes, garlic (not granulated), the Costco dried onion flakes, and canned mushrooms (makes it real thick and juicy), and put half the pepperoni back on.

Next time, we use a cheese pizza, the same add-ons, and use the other half of the saved pepperoni.

Looking to buy the Zojirushi bread maker, which makes pizza dough, to better control the inputs/ingredients and make pizza "healthier."

Funny. We've been eating Costco pizza for years and step one is always remove the pepperoni and redistribute. They put like 5 lbs of pepperoni on those things.

My go-to frozen is the free one Acme inexplicably gives me a coupon for once in a while (though I guess it does get me over to Acme once in a while to make minimal purchases while avoiding the way high regular prices).

Also a big fan of their "$5 off any purchase of $5 or more" offer that comes along once in a while.

The nice thing aboot northern wisconsin is you can buy a locally made frozen pizza at every grocery store, convenience store, tavern, church, supper club, ice fishing shack, VFW hall, hockey rink, and hardware store.
Have you had a Heggie's yet? It's life-changing.

Hmmmm. My go to has been Screamin Sicilian holy pepperoni.

I unwrap it and then take all the pepperoni off. I thin slice and sauté some roma tomatoes with garlic and pepper and make a layer of them across the cheese. Then I thinly slice white mushrooms and make a layer of them. I put the pepperoni back on as the top layer. I broil for a few minutes to get the pepperoni started so it ends up super crispy when you follow the regular baking instructions. Then sprinkle with parm out of the oven.
Screaming Italian kicks ***!!!!

And in the winter time they are just on racks outside the stores for easy access......
