Recommendation:  Should learn the difference between resigned and re-signed.
Psst...it is just a hyphen for those that aren't pedantic.
Or for those who are mentally incapable of articulating a proper sentence, like you for example.  Blame LA public schools or the fact you dropped out to join the carnival, it's all the same to me.  We just know in these forums that you aren't very bright, even at your elevated age.  Tough break, get'em next year I guess.  :bye:

Colin Kaepernick might have earned himself a job for 2017 with his big game against Miami

The 49ers' quarterback is making his team look competent.

It had been trending this way for a few weeks, but Colin Kaepernick did something that he had not done in a long time Sunday.

He looked good. Really good.

A three-touchdown, nearly 300 yards passing, and 133 yards rushing with only one turnover kind of good.

And Kaepernick did something even more incredible than that — he made the 49ers look good against a good team Sunday.

He might have created the possibility that he's a starting quarterback in the NFL at the start of the 2017 season.

Kaepernick's off-the-field storyline has been so charged and the 49ers so irrelevant that few have bothered to pay attention to how Kaepernick has played since he took over as the team's starting quarterback on Oct. 16 against the Bills.

The 49ers haven't won a game with Kaepernick under center this season — that can't be overlooked — but No. 7 has also improved dramatically over the last six weeks, leading to Sunday's strong performance, which came up 2 yards short of overtime.

Over his last four games, Kaepernick has looked comfortable and aggressive in the 49ers' offensive system — which seems stunted by a lack of talent — and has completed 60 percent of his passes for an average of 277 yards per contest to go with 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

The real separation has come in the running game. Of Kaepernick's 133 yards today, many were of a backbreaking variety (only for him to have his back figuratively broken on the final run of the game). His scrambles and read-option runs opened up defenses in ways that Blaine Gabbert certainly wasn't able to do. It's made the 49ers offense look competent.

If this keeps up, why would the 49ers let him go at the end of the year? He's the team's best quarterback since ... Colin Kaepernick.

@squistion why you stealing my shtick?

No but seriously, he was the QB1 last week. I'd happily trot out Hitler if I knew he could drop a 30 burger. A ####### 30 burger.

Looks like he thinks he will be with a new team next year...

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick Is Selling His $2.9M San Jose Mansion

You may want to kneel before viewing this luxe property. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is selling his gorgeous mansion in San Jose, CA. The price for the home in the Silver Creek neighborhood is $2.9 million.

The pro baller garnered loads of attention for his refusal to stand during the national anthem at the start of games. The 29-year-old said he was taking a knee to protest the flag that “oppresses black people.” His actions sparked both support and controversy.

Say what you will about Kaepernick’s flag flap, but we can all agree that his home is lovely. The gated four-bedroom, 5.5-bath estate features 4,500 square feet of living space on a 20,000-square-foot secluded lot with a long private driveway.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Colin Kaepernick will void his contract after the season to become a free agent.

Rapoport added voiding the deal would not "rule out a return" to the 49ers next season. Kaepernick is set to make $14.5 million in base salary if he sticks around in San Francisco next season, and even after a strong finish, it is unlikely he would get much more than the $7.5 million per year Robert Griffin III landed from the Browns on the open market. Perhaps he is so ready to get away from the 49ers he will take his chances, but this is more likely a negotiating ploy. Dec 4 - 8:28 AM

I forgot to put you back on ignore, but glad you're quoting this like it means anything since you obviously don't understand his contract.

His contract from the start has basically been a year to year with team option on 4/1 annually - the only thing renogiated was removing guarantees for injury, which my notes indicate was a sticking point for the team before putting him on the field. He isn't opting out of a $15M 2017 to sign somewhere for $5M, he'll do it to save face, and if he doesn't, the team won't pick up the option, he's a free agent next year no matter what, this isn't new.

I like the pigeon emoticon, but it will suffer a painful death if it is used to stalk or troll current posters who haven't welshed on any bets.

Colin Kaepernick's day ends with 4 pass yards and 5 sacks. First QB in NFL history with 5 sacks and fewer than 5 yards in a game.

Is this the thread where we post random tweets?

Arguably the worst single individual QB game of all time then?

Picked Kaep up off of the waiver wire, but thank God I started Stafford in a make-or-break game to get into the playoffs this weekend. Figured there'd be a shootout in NO, and while there wasn't, Stafford went for over 27 points in a standard league.

Keep went for 2.8 or so.

Ouch.

One of the worst quarterbacked games in the history of football.

Arguably, although the 49ers are sticking with him as the starter over Gabbert:

Colin Kaepernick to start Sunday for 49ers vs. Jets

The one-win Niners are back on the Kap Train.

Offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins announced Tuesday that Colin Kaepernick will start at quarterback Sunday against the flailing New York Jets, per Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

If he doesn't look good against the Jets, I'd argue that maybe he should exercise his player option.

If Tim Tebow had a 15-4 TD-INT ratio and a passer rating of 88.2, some of the same anti-Kaepernick posters would be going ape-#### crazy over him.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/ct-joe-theismann-colin-kaepernick-national-anthem-20170104-story.html

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann isn't happy with the San Francisco 49ers' decision to give Colin Kaepernick an award for "inspirational and courageous" player.

Kaepernick sparked a national debate by kneeling during the national anthem before games as a way of protesting racial injustice and police brutality.

Kaepernick received the Len Eshmont Award last week. The prize is described as the team's most prestigious honor; its recipient is decided by players.

Theismann noted the team's 2-14 record during an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday and questioned what Kaepernick has inspired. He said, "Everybody has the right to express their opinion, but not in the workplace."

Theismann called on the NFL to adopt a policy requiring players to stand for the anthem.

Still can't believe how much this guy's selfishness tore apart that 49ers Clubhouse this year.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And let's throw in a couple more :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: for Theismann

Colin Kaepernick to stand during national anthem next season

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick will stand during the national anthem next season, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

Kaepernick no longer wants his method of protest to detract from the positive change he believes has been created, sources told ESPN. He also said the amount of national discussion on social inequality -- as well as support from other athletes nationwide, including NFL and NBA players -- affirmed the message he was trying to deliver.

As a means of protest, he began sitting during the national anthem in the 2016 preseason before taking a knee for the final preseason contest and 16 regular-season games.

Kaepernick will opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers this week and become a free agent next week, sources told ESPN.

There were other steps Kaepernick took that did not receive the same amount of attention as his anthem stance.

The Colin Kaepernick Foundation pledged to give $1 million to community organizations helping underprivileged people; the San Francisco 49ers matched with another $1 million in donations. He has followed through with monthly donations of $100,000 spread out over 10 months to organizations all over the country.

Many of Kaepernick's teammates supported the quarterback during the national debate on the subject. At the end of the season, they recognized the quarterback by giving him the Len Eshmont Award, which, according to the team, goes to the player who "best exemplifies the inspirational and courageous play of Len Eshmont, an original member of the 1946 49ers team." It is the highest in-house honor a 49er can receive.

Kaepernick said the discussion about social inequality should include all people, and he plans to continue raising money for the underprivileged and presenting the "Know Your Rights" camps nationwide that he started last year.

Perhaps their 2-14 record escapes you, you dolt

Maybe you didn't follow them when they were a contender and he was reclusive and not a leader in the locker room? But winning this award for a 2-14 team and keeping the glue together is huge!

This is the exact observation I would expect from someone who can be so abrasive yet oblivious all at the same time.

I've repeatedly bashed the guy since well before this in the 49ers thread, dating back years. You saw the cracks in his game when he was younger, but figured he would improve, instead he steadily regressed.

So happy he is gone - he opted out of an annual contract that won't be close to what he gets elsewhere. To be fair, they would've dropped him basically free of charge, so this was an attempt to save face for him, bc he would obviously take that annual payday in a flash.

I'd expect him to get a contract somewhere in the range of RG3 got in Cleveland, think that is the bar.

Furthermore, he is a running QB - even I'll admit he is a damn good runner... Issue is how much weight he lost, guy used to be between 225-235, prob closer to 200-210 now. Good luck being a running QB in the NFL at that weight.

He probably figured out he needed to say that since he needs to find a new team. What a doosh :lmao:

This is is the most pathetic thing. C'mon, Colin, stand up... I mean sit down for what you believe.
Kind of a Damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. No matter what he decided his critics wouldn't have been happy with it.

Before: "Colin, how dare you not stand for the national anthem!"

Now: "Colin, what a hypocrite and sellout you are for standing for the anthem!"

He did say he had pretty much accomplished what he set out to do, which was to bring attention to treatment of blacks and minorities in this country. And if he is going to effect any change, he can probably accomplish more with the profile of a starting NFL QB than a backup or being out of the league.

The only reason to formulate an on topic reply to this is to see how far you're willing to continue exposing your ignorance. I'm going to do you a solid and save you the embarrassment.

This should create some much needed Kaep space for the 49ers. :hophead:

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6530/colin-kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick has opted out of his contract, becoming a free agent.

This was the fully expected move. Kaepernick leaves behind one year and $16.9 million to hit the free-agent market. The 49ers haven't ruled out bringing Kaepernick back, but it seems like a total long shot. The Jets have been rumored to have some interest, while reports out of Cleveland have indicated the Browns will not target him. Kap should be able to compete to start somewhere after a solid second half of last season, throwing 16 touchdowns to four picks. Mar 3 - 8:44 AM
