During the height of our military action in Iraq I often sat silently during the anthem while attending NFL and MLB games. I was pissed and offended by our governments actions so I chose a course of protest.
And the Anthem is not a "celebration" of the people who have died defending our rights etc.

The NFL exists to make money. Alienating a large part of you fan base for a back-up QB is a stupid financial decision.

Seems a bit ironic to me that an organization that only exists to make money and could care less about patriotism is worried about alienating a large portion of its fan base.
