QB Anthony Richardson, IND (2 Viewers)

#Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson told reporters he bruised his left knee during today's loss to the #Jaguars, but will be fine. Backup Gardner Minshew closed out the game after Richardson departed in the final minute.

Had itnot been for that I think his Stat line would have been even more impressive. I think he would have either thrown for a td or another rush td. I have Cousins going against Philly this Thursday or Richardson against the Texans. Cousins has bad games in prime time and Richardson impressed the heck out of me. Am I crazy to start him over Cousins?
For sure - if he doesn't get clocked like that and leave the game, we're probably talking about a 30 point fantasy debut.

Started him in my rebuilt 12-team dynasty SF. His 22 was better than Fields & a big part of why I won.

Here’s some solid breakdown from Waldman, who was a big part of why i took the chance on ARich.

For his 1st NFL game he was a mixed bag, but the figure certainly looks bright. And for all the hate he got for his short yardage accuracy issues, that seemed to be his best feature yesterday. Some y’all were just super wrong about him, which is fine. Just don’t be wrong going forward. ;)

Have to be excited about Anthony Richardson for fantasy. In addition to the below:

* #Colts 1st in neutral situation pace Wk 1.
* 8th in first-down throw rate.
* A-Rich's 6 designed runs only trailed Jalen Hurts (7). Would've had a couple more if not for minor knee bruise.

Anthony Richardson's NFL debut:

* Completed 65% of passes
* Was 26th among all Wk 1 QBs in average depth of target (5.2 yards)
* Rushed 10-40-1
* Got 2 of the Colts' 3 carries from inside the 5-yard line
* 6 designed runs total

Targeted him in a few drafts and bummed I didn’t get him. Should’ve paid up a bit and waited too long to try and snag him.

Id LOVE to have him as a 2nd qb and let him figure it out.

Didn't think I would have a difficult decision between him and Fields in week 2, but here we are.
For me id still go Fields for week 2. I'm also on record to believing Richardson is the real deal. Fields was absolutely atrocious. Yep. Still threw for 200 yards, rushed for 59 and had a rushing TD. Just looked like bad play calling and maybe a tad over coaching. Let the boy go. For official bookkeeping purposes I feel it necessary to state I have zero shares of either of these QBs.

Both starting safeties for the Texans have been ruled out for tomorrow. How much of an impact do you see this having on AR this week?

None
Minimal
Moderate
Significant

I get a strange feeling there's just no book on him, the worst the matchup, the better it is for him to let him run through chaos
The one metric that we tend to forget is indy just wants a win. Do previous stat analytics help procrastinate his next game. Of course,but really the most important one is a passive or aggressive game planning. Nobody really know how that is going to be tomorrow. That being said, the Texans starting safeties out tomorrow is very positive news.

Geez have you guys watched Howell play? He's light years better than Zach Wilson. He's basically averaging a rushing TD and a passing TD every game he's started (last year vs Dallas and last week) I believe there is tremendous upside and room for improvement in this offense (takes times to gel with a new OC and QB) So yeah, laugh away, but I think very soon Howell will be putting up 2-3 TDs every single week. And the rushing upside is always a big plus in FF.

So you like rushing upside in FF but are having trouble deciding between someone who looks like they are running in quick sand and the most athletic QB to ever be drafted and proved week one he can do it in the NFL with a top 3 QB score. Lol.

I love Howell. I became a Commanders fan because of him.

I'd be perfectly happy with him as my starter. But I wouldn't generally start him over someone with Richardson's rushing upside. And definitely not this week on the road in Denver.

I was hesitant to play him in first road start but calling his number tomorrow. I expect a conservative game plan and many designed runs and probably top 80 on the ground and score at least twice (not necessarily on the ground)

in my three leagues I have Lamar and Richardson (not really sure how it happened didn't really target either of them?). I'm almost inclined to start Richardson in at least one league with the Baltimore OL banged up. Am i crazy?

Nope. The matchup is nice and having a huge target like Pittman is good for anyone's completion %

Lamar still a great option but nothing wrong with diversification.

Howell only scored 4 points less than Richardson last week. Again, its not the slam dunk you are all proclaiming this to be...

I like Howell's future too but he was much more shaky last week. His offensive line was atrocious too and his matchup is much tougher (on paper of course).

But choosing between them this season will likely be heavily matchup dependent.

This week
Richardson>Howell

Both have bright futures but Richardson's ceiling is exponentially higher. Imho

After reading this thread i was '' convinced '' to start Richardson over D. Watson
Hmm I've been debating on starting him over Watson as well.
I love having guys going on MN , and i do , i have Chubb sooooo, DW meet bench, bench meet DW
Yeah I love having mnf guys as well which is why I was leaning Watson especially with how bad the Steelers looked week 1.

Its not a bad matchup for DW , but those rushing yards from Richardson are to good to pass up ,especially at the goal line with no real rb`s to mention

Watson had more rushing yards and scored on the ground.

He may not get the GL stuff (then again maybe he will) but he car run as well as most anyone.
