QB Anthony Richardson, IND (2 Viewers)

I hope he turns it around this week. The Downs connection could start to click and that could boost this offense.
Tough team to turn it around on. I would sit him against the Steelers
I'm sitting him but the Steelers don't cover slot receivers very well. I'm hoping AR can build confidence with that Downs connection and use that to improve as the season goes on.

Against a tough Steelers defense I'm going to play Dalton in the only league I have AR until I see some improvements, or at least an easier opponent. As much as I( want AR to succeed, I would advise the same. If Steichen has any brains at all he will change the game plan to include AR on the move more. His life may depend on it against the Steelers.
I wouldn’t expect Dalton to look great against a nasty Steelers D. The Steelers D is much better than than the LV D that Dalton carved up.
Dalton plays the Bengals. I was just mentioning who I'm going to play instead of AR against the Steelers.
Not going to lie, I went looking at ESPN to see if maybe Dalton was traded to the Colts.. I mean that would be so Panther to do that.

I would love the Dolphins to trade for him.

Why would the Colts do that? He's 7 starts into his NFL career. This kind of talk is ridiculous at this time.

Sorry, I was referring to the joke/discussion about the Panthers trading Andy Dalton. Would love if they'd trade Dalton to the Fins.

Now that I could get onboard with.

I'm still baffled as to why he isn't running more. Maybe that changes this week. For some reason I feel like he'll have a monster game in this tough on paper matchup.

I have him in a superflex league along with Daniels. I basically need him to be the home run hitter and can absorb his down weeks... but it's getting old. Hoping for a big game so I can possibly package him in a trade to upgrade at QB.

That big game may come next week against Jacksonville.

True. I need a game of at least double digit points this week to ideally get a better trading price and I can point to the JAX game as a bonus. No one was touching trades this week with the PIT game.

I'm still baffled as to why he isn't running more.

Because when he runs, he gets hurt. This has been true every year dating back to his freshman year of high school. And on cue, he just ran, came out of the game, came back in, ran again, and is now in the locker room.
Saw him back on the sidelines flexing. Someone needs to teach him when to slide.
Can’t throw consistently accurately, can’t run without getting hurt.

The colts and titans commiserate.

.but….but….but Flacco

At least he’s competent. Now y’all are playoff bound.

AR is what we might call a FANTASY Fantasy Football player. You follow?

We fantasize about what COULD be, but it never be.

I wisely benched Anthony Richardson, but mistakenly cut Joe Flacco as I needed a tight end to replace injured Trey McBride and thought Flacco was my most cuttable player. Get well soon AR.

I started Darnold over AR and have Flacco on my SF Dino. :bowtie:

they are clearly a better team with flacco under center and would be best served letting him lead the way until arich is more ready. I know you need playing time to get experience, but they will be throwing in the towel on the season if they do

I thought AR was looking good prior to the injury. He build a 17-0 lead that Flacco barely held on to. I know you have to give the Steelers credit, but the whole offensive game plan change after Richardson got hurt and they weren't as effective running the ball with him out.

Agreed - seemed like he looked a lot more comfortable back there in his short time. That's the issue of course - it's often a short time he's back there.

NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported that Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, who was ruled out against the Steelers, is believed to have suffered a hip pointer. The hope is that Richardson misses very little or no game action, but he will be evaluated this week, per Wolfe.

Richardson slid awkwardly at the end of a 1-yard run at the Pittsburgh 5-yard line, forcing an accidental helmet-to-helmet hit from Minkah Fitzpatrick. The Colts QB got up under his own power and limped to the sideline before heading to the locker room. Head coach Shane Steichen did not have an update on Richardson's status following the game, but Richardson did not appear to be overly concerned about his status when talking to Wolfe after the game at his locker, revealing the hip is "sore," and that he he "couldn't push off" like he wanted to upon return.

per @footballguys

I'm guessing you prefer Flacco for the Colts WRs more than Richardson? If yes, I believe you're not looking at the big picture. The Colts offense was looking really good in the first quarter with AR being a running threat, opening other things up in the offense. He just needs to learn how to protect his body better when he runs. It was the first time Richardson really focused on that part of his game, which is his strength. Too bad he got hurt, because after Flacco entered the game it changed their entire offensive game plan and gives them fewer options IMO. They weren't as effective running the ball and makes them more predictable.

-He didn't finish a game within the first month of the season? No way!
Not only is he a BUST at No 4 but he was sold as a project and he can't play 6-7-8 games in a row when he constantly is getting hurt because of the style he brings to the QB position
How long do you keep walking down this trail?

And he's not very accurate, at best he's a journeyman and a lot of teams wouldn't want him even for that role
He's no better than Young being grabbed No 1 overall

Good lord. 8 games into his career and from what I saw he was eating the Steelers up. When they scheme him properly he can be successful. He just needs to learn how to protect his body when he runs. He hasn't learned that. Like I said somewhere, "Is he bullheaded?".

It's way too early to call him a bust. If you have him and are already dropping him I understand, in scratch leagues. I'm not, I play in a dynasty league and I'll keep him for this year. If I don't see any palatable improvement or real progression then yeah, I'll call him a bust as well in Fantasy. But in NFL, who knows? Look at Darnold. Just saying..

I didn't say anything about dropping him or that he is a bust. I was encouraged against the Steelers with Steichen finally scheming him to play to his strengths, which is the run/pass option. He just needs to learn how to slide and protect his body better.

Lol Sorry, this post was meant for Ministry of Pain.

I'm I the only one who wants him to sit?

It just looked better behind Flacco
I've got both Flacco and Richardson but no other Colts. I'd rather have Flacco go this week instead of Richardson getting the start, getting hurt halfway through the first quarter and then sitting the rest of the game.

Signed, guy who starts Pittman
Didn’t AR have to good size yardage chunks to Pittman before he exited?
The previous 3 games stand out more than the two passes imo. I know AR is a project, but i think it's obvious Flacco is better for Pittman.
Colts are easier to defend with Flacco. It showed on Sunday against the Steelers. They have fewer options. Don’t get me wrong, Flacco is a good backup, but AR gives the Colts more options and makes them less predictable.

I want AR to work out, I traded for Pittman last year hoping they could gel and that arm could feed Pittman. AR just seems a ways off so far imo

Maybe so, but he was looking great last week once Steichen started playing to his strength, which is more run / pass option. Now someone needs to teach how to, and when to, slide.

starting Flacco over Arich this week should be a no-brainer for Steichen and company. With no Taylor and Arich’s injury, the RPO isn’t going to be a big part of the gameplay. Let JF tear up that porous Jag D and put arich back in next week at full strength

I also think Richardson ain’t playing considering the limited practice and Flacco soaking up the first team reps.

Signed, Flacco owner who needs a fill-in for Hurts

we’re in the exact same position LOL
