QB Cam Ward, TEN (1 Viewer)

I love everything so far.
Tough not to gush over this kid.

Interesting OL quotes recently about how he contacted them and asked them to hold him accountable.
Who does that!

Skoronski was saying he told him to work hard and study and as long as he puts the work in they're good w him.

Ward deflected bad blocking comments with maybe that's why He blessed me with some athleticism.

Love this kid so far

Main topic in the presser today is Ward will have competition from Levis and others.

Callahan spoke as if Levis was a rookie last year and said he came to the conclusion after thinking how Levis was just handed the job early on. It was pretentious and uncomfortable to listen to.

Cally's been good all off-season and I'm giving bad day benefit of the doubt type understanding to him here.

I'm aware of some farce competitions of other top picks. Maybe it's just similar.

I guess I don't really care as long as Ward gets whatever the proper amount of reps are to be ready

@32BeatWriters
“Ward zipped a bullet that turned heads on his very first snap of 7-on-7, finding fellow rookie Gunnar Helm on a route over the middle. The ball split two defenders and went right to Helm, who caught it in stride. It was a glimpse of what Titans personnel no doubt saw in Ward that made them take him No.1 overall. Ward had a few other throws that were impressive as well as his quick release was very noticeable.”

I need to see some scrimmage-y 11 on 11 stuff.

Looking wow in drills is wearing on me. I've got the let's see him do it in a game vibe building

I wanna see it all.

I have a team riding on him being a viable QB2.

From everything I’ve seen about him to date, he’s going to work harder than just about any rookie QB has ever worked to prove he was worthy of the 1.01

He’s being slept on massively for fantasy IMO. I’m loving everything that I’ve watched and am reading about his work ethic, drive, and leadership qualities. The Titans need to add some weapons for him, but people are treating him like he’s a quarterback without upside.

The more people talk about the occasional sidearm, the more I wonder why everyone doesn't do it.
You've got a huge man in front of you and have to get the ball from a to b.
It doesn't seem outlandish at all.

It’s funny how when just about anyone does it, it’s “reckless” and “a bad habit they need to fix”.

But when Mahomes does it, he’s “a brilliant improviser” and “able to make crazy throws to get it done”.

Not to go too far off rails in the Ward thread, but Stafford was also doing that and no look passes while still in Detroit and never seemed to get the credit Mahomes did for it. Feel like he's been terminally underrated most of his career.

To contribute to the Ward portion; while I'm not as high as others seem to be on his potential for this year, if he's outside the top 24QB still come draft time I would agree he's being undervalued and would definitely target him in SF redraft/best ball.

I think there's a big difference with him in terms of dynasty vs redraft. Guys with weapons like Stroud and Daniels didn't have such a difference, but Ward doesn't seem like a guy who ends up as a top 15 fantasy QB this year, but will every year after that.

I invested in JJM last year and Ward this year (2 different leagues)

The interest I’ve received from leaguemates in JJM is night & day compared to Ward.

Ward is seen as in a significantly worse situation, which I believe results in a lower outlook for him this year. I don’t see a big talent gap between the 2 QBs. In fact, Ward IMO is slightly more exciting for FF purposes.

But the Titans are seen as a bit of a dumpster fire, and until they prove otherwise it’s probably not an unfair perception.

Ward threw an INT and then followed that by completing every pass- 18 in a row.

Can you imagine seeing that opening INT after Levis last year and how you'd feel?
Then how you'd feel watching 18 in a row?

That was probably a huge deal for all the veterans and staff

Loving these updates.

In a 12-team SF, I moved Higgins + a 2026 2nd for 1.02 to take Ward. My QBs are Darnold, Ward/Levis, and ARich.

These updates are music to my ears. If only ARich can win that job so I can move him, I’ll be set. 🤞🏼

Theres a special on Tubi about his upbringing and not being a highly recruited athlete. It's named zero star
It’s fantastic.
Thank you sir. Grateful for the info. That's why this is my only choice among FF forums.
His story is remarkable. I traded Tee Higgins + a 2026 2nd to get pick 1.02 in a 12-team SF where I’m stacked everywhere but QB. (The team with 1.02 & 1.03 traded me on the condition I wouldn’t take Hampton).

I paid that because of his story - he has worked harder than any player I’ve ever heard of besides Jerry Rice to get to where he is today.

Nothing he’s done since being drafted has changed my opinion of him - reports are all solid regarding his work ethic. I’m extremely optimistic about him. He’s the most underrated 1.01 QB in FF ever. In SF he really should have been in play for 1.01, but Jeanty got all the love.

I have him right there with JJM, and honestly if not for KOC & the receiving talent, I’d put him above JJM. And I’m very high on JJM.

This sounds really encouraging. You know that all these athletes have to have somewhat of a work ethic matter how gifted they are. But to have a drive to be the best inseparable from the rest of the pool of players at the cost this young man has shown is rare. You definitely got my attention, thank you.

Plus he was a 0 star recruit and worked to become the 1.01

I’m not sure that’s ever happened before. I’m pretty sure it hasn’t.

Having done a lot of research on Ward yet, but what do folks think of his rushing upside? From a fantasy standpoint, that’s going to be the key.

I think he’s less ARich/Fields & more competent passer in the pocket - from what I’ve seen, while he is athletic and can clearly run, he uses his legs more to scramble & buy time ala Mahomes.

I don’t want to draw that comparison because he’s a rookie and that would be absurd, but when watching him roll out and improvise that’s what came to mind. Buying time & finding open players - it’s a skill and he has it.

He had 30 rushing TDs across 5 seasons, .48 TD/game, which is pretty impressive. But I don’t believe he’s a rushing cheat-code type QB.

What he said.

I think you'll see some running. They wanted Levis to keep it and run out of bounds many times when the line quickly broke down so we know this staff coaches that. There is quite a bit of questions about the Titans Ts so until proven otherwise, it's probably safe to assume sometimes he's gotta just run away and get out of bounds.

His fans aren't necessarily Titans fans and sadly they're maybe going to have to get used to a developing OL. The goal is .500 and don't get him killed. No one's looking for a ring in year one, just improve a good bit from the worst record. I can remember similar with Mariota and Hawaii fans. Idk that he's top 12 in redraft but dynasty is a whole nother story. It's all very unsettled in TEN and the hope is he's the glue. That's it for year one

I’m in a 10 man start 2 QB league with the rookie draft fast approaching. I don’t necessarily need QB on this team at all(Purdy, Stroud, Penix, Geno) but I really feel like there’s a 50/50 shot he’s there for me at the 1.10. It would have to be an auto pick for me. I like the kid, and I honestly think he’s being slept on quite a bit right now. I know Tennessee isn’t a great team(I’m a Titans fan lol) but while I expect early growing pains, I really think he’s going to turn into a good pro and the franchise QB this team so desperately needs.

I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this time next year he’s a top 8 dynasty QB. Like I said, it’s probably going to be rough sledding early. But I think he’s going to eventually get it figured out.

he just went 1.03 in my 10 team start 2 QB dynasty league an hour ago. the first 3 picks all swapped hands last night. before that, I was almost for sure getting Ward at 1.04. I had to settle for Hampton.

I also have the 1.03. Deciding between Judkins/Hunter/Tet. Jeanty and Hampton will go 1/2.

We don't draft until late August so hopefully training camps can help me with the decision.

Superflex? While I love Tet at 1.03 and Hunter if you get IDP points, Ward needs to be in consideration at that spot. His draft spot variability has been super high. Seems to be going anywhere from 1.03 to 1.08.
