QB Dak Prescott, DAL (2 Viewers)

Anybody considering benching against CAR?

and if so, one must have a solid back up.

I'm rostering CARR who from a fantasy perspective is out playing DAK.  I never bench my studs but having this thought....am I a fool for thinking it?
I have same 2 qbs but plan to play dak this week,  he actually should/could had 2 more tds.  Opening drive lamb was tackle at 1 yd line after 44 yard catch then on another drive ball at 2 foot line , dak sneak and he clearly reached ball over line before losing it.  It was ruled fumble and didn’t overturn.

y'all are overthinking this. just who have the Panthers beaten this season ??

Jets. Texans. Saints.

not exactly a murderer's row of opposition.Panther D is VASTLY overrated.

Dak is matchup proof. Ride him till the wheels fall off.

I'd be a little wary of Carr this week. The Chargers have the worst run defense in the NFL, Gibson had his best rushing day against them, Dallas ran on them so badly that Dak was an afterthought, and last week CEH ripped them up.

With the Raiders possibly/probably getting Jacobs back this week(and Barber/Drake being solid in his absence) I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to be very run heavy, both to exploit the Chargers weakness and keep the Chargers offense off the field.

Love Dak but rolling with Stafford over him. The Cowboys are down Gallup, running the ball effectively and keeping the opposing offense in check. Things always change but for now his situation doesn't seem ideal for fantasy production.

Matchup proof huh? Prescott scored me 8.48 points in a week 2 loss. Either of my other 2 QBs would have gotten me the win that week. He's not automatic if Dallas has a defense and commits to running the ball.
How’d it work out this week vs the number 1 defense and Dallas committing to running the ball for 250 yards?

Dak has morphed into an elite QB this season. Not just in QB rating, or fantasy stats, but as a smart leader of this team. I was at the game and a lot of what he brings to the position isn’t shown on tv. During commercial breaks and time outs, Dak was continuously fist bumping his OLine and building up his receivers, he would pull a player aside and you could see him discussing what they are seeing the defense doing. He’s not standing around sipping Gatorade while waiting for the whistle to blow. No he’s COACHING his team during the time outs. When the game is on, he watches everything and makes his audibles and moves players like a General. Add that to the accuracy and power in which he throws and you are watching a late 4th round draft pick that deserved to be drafted ahead of all seven of the QBs taken ahead of him. Goff? Wentz? Brissett? Lynch? Not one of those guys could carry Daks jockstrap. Dallas has a leader who owns this team and takes responsibility when it’s bad and dishes out credit to others when it’s good. No shiny scarfs, pimp hats and Gucci sunglasses at the press conference. Just a humble man that kids can look up to. Dak has become what every team wants in a QB.

He's playing every bit as well as MVP candidates Mahomes, Stafford, or Murray, and he's only going to be better the further removed form injury he is, and when he gets Gallup/Collins(2 pro bowl caliber talents) back in the lineup.

Dallas is scary right now. They might have the best offense in the NFL, they have a young improving defense. They are a missed kick from being 4-0.

Dak Prescott completed 14-of-22 passes for 188 yards and four touchdowns and ran four times for 35 yards in Dallas' 36-28 Week 4 win over the Panthers.

Touted as the league's best defense despite opening against a cupcake schedule in their first three games, Prescott and Dallas' offense silenced Carolina's defense with 433 yards and 7.7 yards per play, finishing with a squeaky clean box score with zero sacks taken and no turnovers. The Cowboys moved the ball at will without CeeDee Lamb (2/13) making a significant impact, calling manufactured plays for Dalton Schultz (5/50/1) while getting 204 combined rushing yards from Ezekiel Elliott (19/142/1) and Tony Pollard (9/62). Amari Cooper also beat C.J. Henderson one-on-one for a 35-yard touchdown following a perfectly placed ball dime Prescott in the third. The only downside to Dallas' passing offense at this time is the fact Prescott hasn't been asked or needed to throw more than 27 attempts in three consecutive games. Even so, he'll stay a top-five option in next week's soft matchup against the Giants.

So glad to have Dak as The Man on this team:

quote:

Dak’s reaction. Fans in the AT&T Stadium Miller Lite Club, which is located at field level behind the Cowboys’ bench, can watch the postgame press conferences of McCarthy and Prescott on the other side of a glass wall. There’s usually some cheering, but nothing like after Sunday’s game.

Fans shouted and banged on the glass throughout Prescott’s postgame press conference, causing the Cowboys QB to laugh and encourage them on multiple occasions by waving his arms for them to get louder.

“For it to be a noon game, they’re ready to go,” Prescott said.

He was then asked by a reporter if he could calm the crowd down.

“I don’t want to calm them down,” a laughing Prescott responded. “I like it. We missed this last year. What are you talking about? I have to call the snap in this, y’all can ask questions in this.”

An MRI confirmed Dak Prescott suffered a calf strain in Week 6 but the Cowboys' medical staff is "optimistic" he will play following the team's Week 7 bye.

The Cowboys square off against Minnesota in Week 8. Dallas has a beautifully timed bye next week, giving Prescott plenty of time to rest. He said that he could have kept playing had his Week 6 game gone longer so the extra recovery time should be enough to get him on the field with no games missed. As long as he's active, Dak remains a QB1. The Cowboys have been trending toward a run-heavy approach but Prescott is playing so well that even limited volume can't hold him back. He has at least three scores in all but one game this year.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Dak Prescott (calf) will participate in individual drills during Wednesday's practice.

McCarthy was not sure about team drills. Getting in any work this early in the week is a good sign, and it sounds like the Cowboys are just being cautious with their star quarterback. “We don’t want this to be a week-to-week situation,” McCarthy said. As long as he makes it through the week without suffering any setbacks, Prescott appears likely to play against the Vikings on Sunday night.

Speaking Thursday, Dak Prescott (calf) said he believes he can suit up for Week 8 against the Vikings, but that he's unsure if it's "just my decision."

“I think that would spoil all the fun," Prescott responded when asked if he would start. "We’ll keep going. Obviously, we’ve got to keep progressing. ... I don’t know if it’s just my decision.” Prescott said the training staff and coach Mike McCarthy will factor into the call of whether or not he plays. He did say there was "no question" he would go if it were a playoff contest, but that the team is trying to be careful with so much season left. Most signs have pointed toward Prescott starting after resting up during the Cowboys' Week 7 bye, but we have not seen anything definitive. Thus far, Prescott has been practicing on a limited basis. We will hopefully have a good feel for his status by the time Friday afternoon's final injury report is released, but Prescott believes the decision will be made before Saturday's walk-through.

The language sounds almost identical to the language they were using before game 1 RE his shoulder. I'm betting he plays and they're being coy on purpose because why not?

I thought they were being coy too but Vegas usually knows these things and the spread swinging 5 points is HUGE IMO.

I have no idea. On one hand, Dak has said repeatedly that he earned every starting job by replacing somebody else due to injury so (if you watched hard knocks you would see it on display,) he wants every rep and to play every game.

If I had to guess I say he plays but I imagine they’ll run more and he won’t be as fantasy relevant as you guys need him to be.

Dak Prescott (calf) is questionable for Week 8 against the Vikings.

Prescott, limited for Friday's practice, was reportedly sore after ramping up his practice activity the day prior. Even so, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said "things are looking good right now" regarding Dak's status; coach Mike McCarthy had a different view, stating Prescott's outlook is about "more than just this game." Truly questionable for Sunday night, all Cowboys players would need to be downgraded significantly if Cooper Rush gets the nod in place of Prescott.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports Dak Prescott (questionable, calf) will be a game-time decision for Week 8 against the Vikings.

The Cowboys plan to take Prescott's status up until Sunday night. There was hope a decision would be made on Prescott Saturday but his status is still up in the air after the team's walkthrough. That likely puts him on the wrong side of questionable, and with the late start, fantasy managers need to have backup plans in place for Prescott this week.

Who are people picking up as plan B?

I got Jones vs KC or Wentz vs TEN as my best options.

The issue is he is playing Sunday night so if you really want to go with him your options are Cousins, Mahomes and Jones and the guess is those guys are probably rostered in most leagues so if you are gonna wait on Dak's decision instead of going with a QB playing in the 1:00 and 4:00 games your best bet is the one and only Cooper Rush.

DAK PRESCOTTQB, DALLAS COWBOYS

Michael Gehlken reports that Dak Prescott starting on SNF "would surprise many close to situation."

Prescott is listed questionable, has traveled with the team to Minnesota and remains a game-time decision. It sounds increasingly unlikely that Prescott will play however. If Prescott is unable to go, Cooper Rush will lead the offense, representing a major downgrade for all Cowboys players.

Pretty sure they are just playing coy.

I still say he plays. Dak ain’t missing a game if he can walk.
man i hope you are right. Hurts as an Eagle fan (pun intended  :P ) but it has sucked since the Cowboys got Dak because he is really hard to dislike. Funny how that works

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Dak Prescott (calf) is "still up in the air" for Week 8 against the Vikings.

If Prescott can't go, Cooper Rush would start in his place. Previous reports have indicated that Prescott is on the wrong side of questionable. Fantasy managers should make a contingency plan for Prescott getting ruled out after the rest of Sunday's games kick off. Kirk Cousins and Daniel Jones would be the two remaining quarterbacks available in some leagues that are preferable to Rush. Prescott's absence would also be a massive hit to the Cowboys' pass-catchers. CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper would fall to low-end WR2 status with Rush under center.

Dak Prescott (calf) is inactive for Week 8 against the Vikings.

Prescott went through pre-game warmups but couldn't get cleared. The Cowboys will start Cooper Rush on Sunday night, with Will Grier backing up. It's a downgrade across the board for Dallas' pass-catchers. Also inactive for Dallas are DE Azur Kamara, OL Matt Farniok, WR Simi Fehok, and SS Israel Mukuamu.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said he expects Dak Prescott (calf) will be "full go" for Thursday's practice.

Prescott never got past a limited practice leading up to his absence from the team's Week 8 game against the Vikings. If he does indeed log a full practice before the end of the week, it will be safe to assume he is playing in the Cowboys' Week 9 outing with the Broncos. The Broncos have a vaunted pass defense but they just traded Von Miller and Prescott is no stranger to difficult matchups. He'll regain his QB1 status as soon as he is cleared to play.

Speaking Thursday, Dak Prescott (calf) said it's "safe to say" he will be starting against the Broncos.

"Pretty close, to be honest," was Prescott's response when asked how close he was to 100 percent health. "I feel good.” Barring a setback, we now know that Prescott will be out there vs. the Broncos. With the Cowboys operating as massive home favorites, Prescott will probably have the luxury of being eased back in as Dallas rides its running game, but Prescott can fall into a high-end QB1 day in his sleep thanks to the weapons at his disposal. He is a top-eight option for Week 9.

Dak Prescott completed just 19-of-39 passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Cowboys' 30-16, Week 9 loss to the Broncos.

The Broncos completely dominated Dallas in this one, possessing the ball for 41 minutes and change to a little over 18 minutes for the Cowboys. Dallas was 5-for-13 on third downs and 0-for-4 on fourth downs, as Prescott missed some throws after missing last week to a calf injury. The calf didn't seem to be a problem in this one, but the Broncos' defense certainly was, as the Cowboys fell in a 30-0 hole before Prescott tossed a pair of garbage-time, fourth-quarter scores to backup WR Malik Turner. Prescott will try to rebound next week in an easier matchup with the Falcons.

I didn't like Dak's attitude in the media session afterwards either.  He seemed like he was just blowing it off while reciting the "we'll learn from it" drivel off the cue card.

I want to see him pained from his/their crappy performance and a Tebow-esque "I promise this will never happen again" like a real leader.

This isn’t college. Pro players would laugh at that garbage. And of course the Cowboys and Dak will have bad games again. South Carolina isn’t on the schedule.
