Just when I thought it was safe to drop this guy.Hilts said:They're considering starting him next week.
Actually "start whichever one is not the starter" would have worked out pretty well this season. This dude can't make up his mind. Neither QB is startable anymore.
For fantasy, get on board. He's total garbage as an NFL QB but he will put up big numbers if the turnovers don't hurt you.Now wondering if I should get on the Winston ride.
The key to Fitzpatrick in fantasy ball is guessing how many games he'll maintain his high. Because he always crashes. So glad I got off the Fitz ride.
that's wht i thought 6 weeks ago when he got the job back... i keep blowing through FAAB money aquiring these two turnover machines.... will try again to get winston back. For fantasy, get on board. He's total garbage as an NFL QB but he will put up big numbers if the turnovers don't hurt you.
Yeah I don't know how you trust either of these guys. You are seriously playing with fire.that's wht i thought 6 weeks ago when he got the job back... i keep blowing through FAAB money aquiring these two turnover machines.... will try again to get winston back.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the Bucs will go back to Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback for Week 12.
It's hardly a surprise after Ryan Fitzpatrick threw seven interceptions in 2.5 games in place of Winston. Winston is going to turn the ball over a ton, as well, but he does so in a slightly more dignified fashion than FitzMagic. In a pass-heavy offense locked into weekly shootouts by the Bucs' terrible defense, Winston will be a QB1 more weeks than not. That includes Week 12 against the 49ers
I think you know the answer.Would they really bench him one game in?
I wonder if this is a record for number of QB changes in one year (not due to injury).I think you know the answer.
Anything seems possible with this team. I wouldn't be surprised if Winston starts, gets benched, Fitz comes in, and then he's benched...all in one game.
I'm trying to drop Bortles to use Winston for Goff's bye...Was planning on starting Trubisky for Mahomes' bye week, but God help me, I'm thinking about picking up Winston instead.
In related news, I'm considering getting back together with my ex-girlfriend. The sex was amazing but last time I suggested we take a break she carved the word "a##hole" into the side of my car and then sent a rambling email bad-mouthing me to all of my friends and coworkers. What do you think, yea or nay?
As a one-week bye fill-in and a good match-up, I'm willing to take the risk. But anything longer term, I'm not sure I'd be able to stomach it.Bucs QBs are currently sitting at QB2 overall with an outside chance to pass Mahomes who is on bye this week. Bucs QBs averaging 375 yards and 2.5 TDs per game. Mahomes 330 yards and 3.4 TDs per game.
Unfortunately Bucs QBs have gotten benched in 30% of their games this year. So there is a huge risk there. But the payoff has been a top 2-3 QB in the other 70% of games. Just gotta figure out how much you are willing to risk.
Trubisky not a sure thing for Turkey Day. Banged his throwing shoulder. Was planning on starting Trubisky for Mahomes' bye week, but God help me, I'm thinking about picking up Winston instead.
LOL. I'm not sure anyone outside of the Winston family is all that concerned with his development at this point. Bucs are cleaning house the day after the season ends. This season hasn't exactly turned out how the Bucs hoped, I think. It's pretty bad. Now they're yo-yoing these guys around and it can't possibly help Jameis' development.
Yeah, saw that (although it sounds like he'll probably play). All the more reason to go with Winston.Trubisky not a sure thing for Turkey Day. Banged his throwing shoulder.
I guess they're not worried about sunk costs, then, huh?LOL. I'm not sure anyone outside of the Winston family is all that concerned with his development at this point. Bucs are cleaning house the day after the season ends.

1.01 is pretty tough for an organization to give up on so quickly on a guy, but hey, if the Glazers want to.
So quickly? This is year 4.I guess they're not worried about sunk costs, then, huh?

Same boat, Garropolo injured, Fitz/Winston merry go round. Picked up Mayfield, not bad but inconsistent Got so sick of it, I traded for Wentz and he cost me a win this week too by scoring ZERO. So jealous of those in my league with set and forget QBs like Mahomes and Brees. After the revolving door I've had since Garoppolo (including Fitz and Winston) I would gladly take four quarters of either one. It's the one to three quarters I can't afford.
I need to decide between Wentz after a horrible week and Winston, both decent matchups, both at home. I'd guess Winston is safe from getting benched for one week anyway.Convinced myself to go after Winston tonight in waivers after recently tearing much hair out of my head over Fitz. If he's not benched, he should put up the numbers.
M. Trubisky injury forcing me into action and most likely anxiety.
By the end of the game 49ers will be leading the league49ers have intercepted two passes this year.
This SHOULD be a good spot for this guy.
Which guy??? https://www.49ers.com/team/depth-chart49ers have intercepted two passes this year.

That's pretty weird lol! Well now we both have a decision this week. Wentz, Winston or Mayfield? Figure Mayfield's upside aint huge so i'm picking between the other two. Wentz, who already lit up the Giants once but coming off the worst game imaginable, or Winston who has a decent shot at big numbers. I'm thinking Winston...not 100% yet. I suppose you could go Wilson, I don't have that option.are you me?
literally same exact play by play except im in a 2 qb league and have wilson as well. Lost Garap, rode fitz till he crashed, added Bake, wasn’t getting enough so ponied up for Wentz. Back to fitz over wilson last two weeks- no throwing FAAB @ Winston to have 3 solid QBs hopefully although after last week, I’m worried about wentzWentz

Are we under the impression Tampa couldn't win with Winston at QB running this offense, or someone else's offense, if the defense wasn't somewhat improved? They've lost 5 games where they scored 27+ points. Certainly the QB play, especially turnovers, have contributed to some of those losses. But, there are so many weapons here it seems silly to start over with a rookie QB or journeyman free agent just out of spite for Jameis. The whole point of sunk costs is that you're not supposed to worry about them. If the Glazers have overcome the irrational attachment people typically have to them, they should be applauded.
But it will probably more be a case that the only way to recruit a top coach/GM is by promising them they will have the opportunity to develop their own QB.
My armchair assessment is that he is a broad spectrum of tremendous and horrendous and after 45 plus starts (?), there's not much sign of him expunging that "horrendous" from his game. The ability he has is obvious and enticing but the "awful" always overshadows it sooner or later. Tampa needs to consider that the time to attribute this to youth or inexperience or supporting cast may be past. There are "data points" of conventional wisdom that can be used to argue it's too early to give up on him but what if he just is what he is? I don't see a player right now that is going to put them on a play-off trajectory against QBs that are (generally speaking) far less prone to self-destruct. I'm not really factoring in the knucklehead part either because there are enough enduring issues on the field but if Tampa needs a "tie-breaker" for their decision-making process, he appears to be a knucklehead. Are we under the impression Tampa couldn't win with Winston at QB running this offense, or someone else's offense, if the defense wasn't somewhat improved? They're only committed to him, technically, through next year anyway. Re-tool the coach/schemes, and see if anything changes with a full off-season free of distractions.
Again, Mahomes on Bye so I'm happy.Jameis Winston completed 29-of-38 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs' Week 12 win over the 49ers.
He added seven carries for 24 yards. Most importantly, Winston avoided turnovers in a high-efficiency effort, also taking just one sack and finding Adam Humphries (28 yards) and Cameron Brate (6) for scores. Winston's ups and downs have been maddeningly frustrating all year, but this is the kind of performance he is capable of when on his game. Winston will remain a high-upside QB1 play when Tampa Bay hosts a burnable Carolina defense next.
