Someone actually did that to my knee as well and performed 3 tests while I was at workout facility.Initial test means what - the trainer put one hand on either side of the knee and wiggled it a little?
Were they right?Someone actually did that to my knee as well and performed 3 tests while I was at workout facility.
For mine they said 2 out of 3 signs show ACL tear.
This makes me more worried it's the knee/ligaments.An ankle injury has been ruled out for Jordan Love, according to Diana Russini of The Athletic.
Russini says the team is in wait-and-see mode regarding further information on the quarterback’s lower body injury, but she’s been told an ankle injury has already been ruled out. The Packers’ team flight home from Brazil is set to return Saturday afternoon and at that time Love will receive an MRI. Love certainly isn’t out of the woods yet. More will be known after he gets an MRI, but the worry is a significant knee injury. Any time Love misses would be catastrophic to the Packers skill players with Malik Willis and Sean Clifford as potential replacements in the immediate. Love was removed from the game after he suffered a lower body injury when Jalen Carter hit him low with five seconds left in the Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Eagles on Friday.

yes, it was torn. Were they right?Someone actually did that to my knee as well and performed 3 tests while I was at workout facility.
For mine they said 2 out of 3 signs show ACL tear.
Initial tests indicated Jordan Love’s ACL is intact, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Pelissero notes that there’s still a wide range of outcomes based on additional scans, which Love will have done once the team returns from Brazil Saturday afternoon. Love isn’t completely in the clear just yet and more will be known after he receives an MRI, but the fact that initial tests show his ACL intact is a positive. Diana Russini of the Athletic previously ruled out an ankle injury for Love in a report on Twitter. Love was removed from the Packers’ 34-29 loss against the Eagles in the fourth quarter after he took a low hit and suffered a lower body injury. Malik Willis and Sean Clifford are the potential in-house replacements at quarterback for Green Bay.
Whoops. Missed this.Ruled out ankle injury. ACL appears intact. Seems like MCL

I think your expectations may be too high for a guy with his level of experience.I am more concerned with what I saw on the field than what his potential injury is. Looks like he is making the same mistakes as last year. The Eagles will be a sub-par pass defense this year, and he was not able to consistently move the ball against them. Taking the crappy field conditions out of the equation, he made a few brutal throws/decisions in the game. Like last year, he is still throwing those fadeaway heaves late across the middle. Missed a couple of open receivers in the endzone. Several balls that were thrown behind receivers. Not panicking yet, but not feeling great either.
He did?Kedon Slovis impressed me greatly in college.
He did?Kedon Slovis impressed me greatly in college.
He had 1 good season in college (across 3 schools) and that was with a WR trio arguably better than what any NFL team currently has. His 3 WR set was Michael Pittman, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Drake London.
USC to Pitt to BYU, getting worse very seasonHe did?Kedon Slovis impressed me greatly in college.

I believe Slovis had a stop at my local Pitt.
He didn’t impress me.
Torn MCL has grades. People stopped using the term slightly torn but I wish it would return.I think this is good news. Most of the medical community were expecting a knee+ankle. Effectively, if there is no ankle injury—and if he somehow avoided an ACL tear (which Dr. Sutterer thought was unlikely—he was more in the fully torn MCL and ankle injury camp)— it seems to me that an outcome could be that Love escaped with a severely or fully torn MCL. While that still sucks, that would be more like a 4-8 week type of thing. Rumors are that Deandre Hopkins might be playing this season on a torn MCL.Apparently they ruled out an ankle injury, which is sort of bad news as it means it’s his knee. They’d pretty much know if he had an ACL injury though, don’t hear anyone saying that.
Because I wasn't exactly right? So I shouldn't read last few pages of posts from our resident doctors?
Good
What's the thoughts on shifting to a more run first run often gameplan on offense?Okay, if the bar is set at "functional" then yes Tannehill is the best option.Functional QBs are already on rosters. The idea that Tannehill is a savior that can just show up and perform in a new system with no off-season training and plug and play is wishful thinking.I think it would make a big difference. What difference does it make who the Packers could actually add? Nobody is going to make a difference. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it - GB team and fans are going to experience what the Vikings did last year. And Jets fans every year.
The team has plenty of weapons.
Malik vs. say...Tannehill?
I think you move the needle from non functional offense to more than functional with that kind of add.

Yes...but your first sentence is why you look at Tannehill...your other options are pretty limited...and I think anyone throwing Tannehill's name out there is saying functional not savior...no one could seriously be thinking that...very best case scenario would be Flacco with Cleveland last year and that would probably be a reach.
But it's not going to make a difference in terms of a team that had playoff and/or championship aspirations once again dreaming big.
Is it better for your fantasy teams? I guess.
Is it going to salvage the Packers' season? Not a chance.
All of this is assuming Love is done for the year. If he can come back mid way, for example, then yeah you go find anyone who can play decently.

Not as much as it looks to. Most of that is internal hip rotation.
Their hand is kind of forced to be that way I'd guess. But the cascading effect of that doesn't bode well - teams stack the box against a mediocre run blocking unit and a decent but not exactly dynamic lead back... Lafleur runs two TE already and ...well I'm not sure how the impressive receiving TEs are at blocking.
Tannehill is smooth with his play action "move" but regardless of him, whoever plays, I'd imagine this is a consideration for Lafleur, no?

Slightly torn MCL is more annoying pain than anything and 1-3 weeks healing time. Since Hopkins practiced the next day and they had a discussion of him sitting, it's very likely it was grade one. Also how they've given him a sleeve and nah he doesn't want it.
Grade two is almost torn completely and grade three is torn. These are very painful and a huge difference to a slight tear.
There's a big difference here in "torn MCL." Hopkins was supposedly going to be fine week one. He's practiced in full but they seem on the fence whether to let him play.
The medical staff went right to Love and he was sitting so we can't tell with him. They could have given him a shot for pain. Not walking around can't see like he can't put weight on it, grimacing etc.
Anyone watching can tell the difference between these grades. The pain is simply so much more.
4-6 week is grade two with some PT making it the eight you said
4-6 week grade three is almost a lie. There's been a few but for everyone else it's season ending. Sites like Mayo clinic mention "til walking" and "functional" at 6 weeks, not playing a sport.

Not as terrible as I expected from him. As a general rule MDs are not the best at mechanics of injury, but he is mostly reasonable. His assumptions about severity of a possible MCL tear are off. A complete tear isn't needed and he wouldn't walk off with a complete MCL. He doesn't mention foot injuries, but there is risk there too.- YouTube

Brian Sutterer, MD, on the Love injury.
Not if a player is on a team who's game has already played. At least it should be that way. Some leagues may allow a drop, but an add of a player who's game has played is a big no no, until waivers run. That's includes leagues that have a first-come-first-serve after waiver runs.So how much time does he miss?
I can drop Wicks now, right?
I’d say if Love is gonna miss 2-6 weeks they should bring in Tannehill to salvage going 0-2 or 0-6 to maybe being .500 while he’s out.Is it better for your fantasy teams? I guess.
Is it going to salvage the Packers' season? Not a chance.
All of this is assuming Love is done for the year. If he can come back mid way, for example, then yeah you go find anyone who can play decently.
And we do. But we have several days now to find out if it's serious or not so all fun until then. Love was one of the QBs I had on my radar. He and Murray. If they stay healthy (oops) I expect good seasons and getting in the later rounds. It is a message board we are supposed to speculate.
from the docs on Twitter, he could have walked off with a partial or complete tear of the MCL, ACL, or any other.A complete tear isn't needed and he wouldn't walk off with a complete MCL.
That’s pretty safe regardless.I can drop Wicks now, right?
Other than the $90 million cap hit the Falcons would have to take, that would be a great idea.Atlanta should trade them Cousins for a haul and just start Penix.
There was a rumor (from the Levis haters?) that Callahan would bring him to the Titans and the Bengals put it out there that Browning was not available.I thought Jake Browning played well in relief of Burrow last year. The Bengals would want too much for him (if they were even willing to deal) but I think he's someome the pack could theoretically go after if Love is out for the year. but they might just trot out Willis and wait till next year.
We should know by tomorrow. Monday at the latest. More speculation. LOLAnd we do. But we have several days now to find out if it's serious or not so all fun until then. aren't they gonna take it eventually? Is it worth it for them to get reed or wicks to take that whack?Other than the $90 million cap hit the Falcons would have to take, that would be a great idea.Atlanta should trade them Cousins for a haul and just start Penix.

The Falcons have $6 million in cap space. Let me know which combination of players with $84 million in salary this year that you want Atlanta to dump to be able to accomplish that. And that’s assuming those guys don’t have even additional dead cap money if they cut them. The Falcons aren’t trading Cousins this year.aren't they gonna take it eventually? Is it worth it for them to get reed or wicks to take that whack?Other than the $90 million cap hit the Falcons would have to take, that would be a great idea.Atlanta should trade them Cousins for a haul and just start Penix.
I agree with this. That said, the Sleeper leagues that were promoted on this very board allow drops of bench players AFTER their games have started/played, which I thought was interesting. Not if a player is on a team who's game has already played. That’s how my yahoo league has always been. I dropped my kicker right before Thursday’s game for Isiah Likely. Now I have to drop another player for a kicker at some point. I’ll watch my bench players Sunday and drop one after the afternoon games. Eyeing the Detroit kicker Sunday night.I agree with this. That said, the Sleeper leagues that were promoted on this very board allow drops of bench players AFTER their games have started/played, which I thought was interesting. Not if a player is on a team who's game has already played. I thought Browning was injured? With Higgins out and Chase having barely practiced and all that contract drama...maybe the Packers could dangle a WR as trade bait and change their mind
I've never concerned myself with his rushing, because that's not his thing, but I agree about pocket mobility. Not something that worries me either if he's on the field playing. Peyton Manning was a statue.Even if Love escaped a major injury and maybe misses a game or two, have to be concerned how much his mobility is going to be hampered going forward.
