As an Andrews owner I don’t like this one bit. Lamar was bad last week. Thought it was his annual illness and hoped it was one week. Now this
Lamar Jackson (knee) left the Ravens' Week 13 game against the Broncos.
Jackson, who has struggled with quad and hip issues over the past month, took a big hit on the Ravens' second possession and soon after entered the blue medical tent with Baltimore trainers. He was seen limping to the locker room after exiting the tent, walking gingerly and appearing dejected. Tyler Huntley, who started four games for the Ravens in 2021, has taken Jackson's spot under center.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Lamar Jackson's knee injury is not season ending.
Harbaugh said the injury could means Jackson is out for "days to weeks." NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Jackson's injury is believed to be a sprain. Jackson left the Ravens' Week 13 game against Denver in the first quarter after taking a big hit from behind. Tyler Huntley came in and played well, rushing for 41 yards and the game-winning touchdown with 30 seconds to go in the contest. It sounds like Huntley could be under center for Week 14 against the Steelers -- a tough spot for the Ravens backup.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Lamar Jackson (knee) is unlikely to play in Week 14 against the Steelers.
After yesterday's win over the Broncos, Harbaugh suggested Jackson could be out "days to weeks." On Monday, Harbaugh said of Jackson, "I would say it's kind of week to week. It's probably less likely for this week, but it's not impossible. And then after that, it'll become more and more likely." Those banking on Jackson's services in Week 14 will be wise to come up with a backup plan now, which could come in the form of his backup, Tyler Huntley. Huntley has been a serviceable fantasy quarterback in the past and threw for 187 yards and one interception against the Broncos while also rushing for 41 yards and a touchdown. Huntley could be a high-end QB2 next week against the Steelers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Lamar Jackson (knee) has a sprained PCL.
Reading between the lines of John Harbaugh saying that Jackson is "less likely" for this week, we would not be surprised if Jackson did not get on the field in Week 14. Schefter notes that the average recovery time for PCL injuries is "1-to-3 weeks." It's possible Jackson will miss more than just one week. Zach Wilson sprained his PCL last season and missed Weeks 8-11. Jackson drafters should make finding a short-term replacement a priority on waivers this week.

the combo of draft picks and a much lower salary cap hit would make this the play. Spend that money on FAs and if Huntley craps out draft another QB next year.Ravens should try and trade Jackson and roll the dice with the cheaper Huntley

Jackson is exciting to watch, but his style has led to injury after injury. Problem is Jackson would be middle of the pack or even lower as a drop back passer. So to be effective he has to risk his body breaking down and he is not built like Newton or Allen. I would not want the Lions to sign Jackson to a Watson type mega-deal.

He hasn't been much of a QB this season even with his full mobility.Be interested to see what the Ravens pay him after this season...

And it's quite clear he's not much of a qb if the running threat is limited...
Lamar Jackson (knee) did not practice Thursday.
It would qualify as a surprise if Jackson was able to get cleared ahead of Week 14's game against the Steelers after two straight DNPs. Tyler Huntley will likely be the Ravens starter this week against Pittsburgh and makes for a decent superflex QB2 streamer. Jackson could very well miss multiple weeks.

Lamar Jackson (knee) did not practice Tuesday.
Given the 1-3 week timeline Adam Schefter put on this, it's not surprising. He's now missed four practices in a row. Lamar would have to really get going in a hurry here if the Ravens were to get him active for Saturday night against the Browns. It seems more likely that they'll start Tyler Huntley or Anthony Brown.

Lamar Jackson (knee) will not play in Baltimore's Week 15 game against the Browns.
Jackson didn't practice at any point this week and should be considered questionable for Week 16 as well. His PCL strain was expected to cost him "1 to 3 weeks" per Adam Schefter, and this will make a second straight week with Jackson absent. We'd be surprised if he didn't at least get some practice sessions in next week, but that's not a guarantee that he actually plays. Tyler Huntley will likely start for Baltimore.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Ravens hope to have Lamar Jackson (knee) back for Week 16.
The Ravens expect Jackson to return to practice next week. That would set him up to return on Christmas Eve against Atlanta. Jackson was expected to miss 1-3 weeks with his sprained PCL, putting this on the early side of his timetable. Tyler Huntley will start for the Ravens against the Browns in Week 15.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was unwilling to commit to Lamar Jackson (knee) returning in Week 16.
Harbaugh said he would "climb behind the barricade" of not disclosing plans for Jackson for competitive reasons. Harbaugh will have to release an injury report later in the week, but it's possible we won't know more on Jackson's status until then. A Week 16 return has been viewed as the target date for Jackson and the Ravens, but how his knee has responded to recent treatment will likely dictate whether or not he's on the field this Saturday against the Falcons. If he's active, Jackson is a must-start for fantasy purposes and can be viewed as a top-12 option.

They have had a preview of life without Lamar. Tough couple weeks.Ravens should try and trade Jackson and roll the dice with the cheaper Huntley
They've also had a preview of life with him, 1 career playoff win, and they're 7-4 with him this year, 2-1 without. They have had a preview of life without Lamar. Tough couple weeks.Ravens should try and trade Jackson and roll the dice with the cheaper Huntley
I don't think he should be worried about the next contract.
I didn't make a Huntley comparison, and I didn't say his case was stronger this year. Other than that, strong take. The comparison isn't him vs. Huntley, that's a weak strawman. It's him vs. whoever they replace him with at QB and multiple #1 draft picks and likely multiple very good players they could use that money on instead. Anyone who thinks Lamar's case has gotten stronger this year is borderline delusional IMO

I have a lot of respect for Lamar for betting on himself and not taking the "Murray" contract and shooting for the "Watson" deal.Put his body on the line for the team when others stated he should stop running to protect himself. Now he is going to get lowballed. Good form, Baltimore.
This is a fair point, the Ravens have not supported Lamar by building a strong receiving corps behind Bateman. The only case that can be made here is that Baltimore's management sucks total ***. They had one legit WR, and while he was healthy, Lamar was an absolute stud. Literally, as soon as Bateman went out, that whole offense tanked.
I don't think they suck total ***. They've historically had a terrible record drafting WR's, and a pretty good record everywhere else. The only case that can be made here is that Baltimore's management sucks total ***. They had one legit WR, and while he was healthy, Lamar was an absolute stud. Literally, as soon as Bateman went out, that whole offense tanked.
Decent chance this is schtick but I'll take the bait.Put his body on the line for the team when others stated he should stop running to protect himself. Now he is going to get lowballed. Good form, Baltimore.
I like your style. He skipped offseason workouts, has reportedly not put in the work in the film room or locker room, and acted the fool on social media.
It should be far off the Watson deal. That deal was both insane and stupid. It was insupid! The Ravens would be insane and stupid to match that. If Lamar insists on that deal he should expect to be franchised and hope the Ravens find an different owner to make an insane and stupid offer.Lamar has nothing to prove. Bateman hurt. Andrews hurt. RB's were hurt. O-Line decimated and was not their usual dominant self early in the season. The league has seen what he can do and with weapons he can beat any team, including those with Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts etc. It is a business and I get it. There is risk signing running QBs to long term deals after their rookie contract. It will happen with Hurts. It will happen with Fields. So Lamar is going to have to accept some sort of discount based on that - or do a shorter term deal and try to get paid again. But it shouldn't be far off of Watson/Murray.
Herbert and Lawrence are the next two prototypical pocket QBs who will break the bank
Yes, yes, YESSSSSSSSS. Trade him.It should be far off the Watson deal. That deal was both insane and stupid. It was insupid! The Ravens would be insane and stupid to match that. If Lamar insists on that deal he should expect to be franchised and hope the Ravens find an different owner to make an insane and stupid offer.
And only 2 Heisman winning quarterbacks have won The Super BowlYes, yes, YESSSSSSSSS. Trade him.It should be far off the Watson deal. That deal was both insane and stupid. It was insupid! Everyone knows league MVPs grow on trees.
Agreed, they all suck. Trade him, trade him. traaaaaaaaaaaade him.And only 2 Heisman winning quarterbacks have won The Supoer Bowl
Keeping him would be ideal for the Ravens but not on a Watson deal. If Lamar refuses to compromise and accept onlyYes, yes, YESSSSSSSSS. Trade him.It should be far off the Watson deal. 150 million guaranteed then, yes trading him is the smarter move. If they can get multiple first round picks from a team like the Colts, Saints, Panthers or Falcons? Yeah, they should do that.Don't you mean to sign that "Cleveland Browns fan"?I like your style. He skipped offseason workouts, has reportedly not put in the work in the film room or locker room, and acted the fool on social media.
Baltimore should trade him.
Sincerely, the rest of the AFCN.
That's a great point a trade is only truly viable for a firmly entrenched, consistently successful coaching staff. Fortunately the Ravens have one of those.Pretty sure it's a lot easier to simply trade away your QB when you aren't going to lose your job if your next choice at QB sucks. People are casually mentioning trading him, when if they draft Kyle Wilson 2.0, they might all lose their jobs in two years. Keeping Lamar means job security.
The Ravens have two years of franchise tags they can use before Lamar can just walk. This seems early for trade talk. I may be wrong.
It's tough to tell, because like I said before, we don't really know what discussions are, we have rumors. There is no agent leaking news.
Plus it would also require a backup QB suitable to that customized system like Baltimore has done. The problem with trading for Lamar is you will have to completely retool your offense to play to his strengths. That was the biggest factor that the Ravens did to capitalize on his talents. Not every coach will be willing to do that so if he did get traded to a coach that won't make those changes it will likely look like a terrible trade and that Lamar is not all he was cracked up to be.
$150M guaranteed is chump change now for elite QB’sKeeping him would be ideal for the Ravens but not on a Watson deal. If Lamar refuses to compromise and accept onlyYes, yes, YESSSSSSSSS. If they can get him to accept a Murray type deal then they should keep him.
Seriously, I wonder how much he pays his mom to advise him. I hope it's more than just buying her dinner on mothers day.He won't hire an agent and uses his mom as an advisor, presumably so he can keep every nickel of his contract for himself. He
