QB Lamar Jackson, BAL (11 Viewers)

Is this what happens when an athletic QB loses the 5% edge he's got on everybody? Maybe LJ is banged up, but this is the risk in FF with running QBs who get a lot of their points on the ground. It eventually goes away.

You don't have to be Nostradamus to know Josh Allen will suffer the same fate and probably much sooner than people think. He's easily the most overrated passer in the league, although, his OC doesn't help.

Something is off with Lamar...it's like Austin Powers when he loses his mojo...Lamar usually has this air where it feels something big is gonna happen at any moment...it just doesn't feel like that right now.

He had two TDs taken off the board. The turnovers are bad but I don't think the sky is falling as much as people are acting.
Apparently you have not been starting Lamar in fantasy the last 3 weeks.

I haven't 😄 but I've had him since he was a rookie so I've seen the ups and downs. I think he'll be alright.
I was at the top of the standings week 9. He has crushed me. I’ll be lucky to make the playoffs. With Heberts schedule and loss of Alt, I’m in trouble.

Have no choice but to start him in Dynasty SuperFlex. I have Lamar, Goff and Shough…unless Purdy gets hurt again and I can start Mac Jones.
I need the rest of my team to carry me. And I guess it’s good that both Baltimore and Detroit will be fighting for their playoff lives so will hopefully ramp up the scoring.

A boy can dream.

Is there another example of such a prolific QB that so many people are dying to pounce on after having a rough stretch?
Peyton Manning in Denver is about the only one I can recall. There were people who legit believed Brock Osweiler was better.
Yeah? Was that before he the first season he played after signing with them?
I was thinking when he was benched in 2015. He of course was un-benched several weeks later, and won the Super Bowl, albeit more by just managing the game than anything else, but they probably don't win without going back to him.

I will say with Lamar, that if Likely doesn't fumble, and Flowers isn't called for the bogus OPI, he finishes with 15-20 points depending on scoring system, so like, it sucked, but it took a lot of flukiness to suck that much. He's playing as badly as he has since his rookie season, but he's also had some awful luck that could have fixed some things.

He's as difficult to bench as Justin Jefferson is. Probably harder since it's not another position that's preventing Lamar from producing.
I've endured 6, 8, & 9 points from him in my last three weeks. There's NO WAY I would pull a Linus/Lucy and be dumb enough to start him again, right? Wait, he's home against Pittsburgh and they've given up the 9th most points to quarterback. And he had two near-miss TDs on Thursday. Maybe I'll give him one more shot. I'd hate to lose and see him score 30 on my bench. Shoot me now!

After watching J. Cook run all over PIT yesterday I fear we'll see more of a D. Henry game.

Only other guy on the wire I see is S. Darnold and he didn't exactly inspire confidence yesterday.

Hoping I don't need to win this week in a couple leagues where I have him so maybe he can sort this out in time for the playoffs in week 15.

That was against Minny who are very familiar what he struggles with and has the defense that can do what he doesn't do well. He should bounce back against a lesser defense.

All really depends on who you would start in his place and whether you need a ceiling game or not based on your opponent's roster. Are you favored or an underdog?
At the moment, Yahoo has me a 140-137 favorite. But that's with Jackson projected at 23.67. Yahoo thinks it's 2024. My option is Brissett, but he's going against the Rams defense. Brissett has outscored Jackson 68-20 over the last three weeks. Yet I'm still finding it hard to start him over Lamar. I once heard the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. :headagainstwall:

Tought to go Brissett over Lamar especially with the Ram D just being embarrassed by Bryce Young. They may be out with vengeance.

ESPN has Lamar at 16.8. Lowest I've seen in a long time.

Will be interesting to see forecasts for waiver QBs this week.

As an aside, saw a report indicating Harbaugh wants to give Henry more opportunities.

Fantastic.

16.8 pts feels about right for a non-running Lamar.

I watched that game and I can't say he didn't look quick on the ground. They just aren't calling his number.

You'd think, if healthy...and to get this damn offense out of it's funk...they'd make him running more of an option.

Also, what has changed from last year with his pass catchers? You still have Flowers...you still have Andrews/Likely...you have Hopkins...you have K. Mitchell out of the backfield.

Lamar has been miserable, but I don't feel like Monken is doing him any favors either.

Officially ended my season this week. Probably the biggest bust I've ever drafted. Wasn't the only problem but put me behind the 8 ball every week. Brutal.

Of course next next year I won't pick him, he'll go in the 6th round and win MVP

diehard steeler/raven hater

B'more is doing their version of the Steelers.

There are GLARING weaknesses that any team has a chance to exploit.

Raven's WR's are poor. Probably worse than the Steelers which is saying something. The result, stack the run and force Lamar to run around and throw.
He might beat you early but he'll struggle late game if you get him tired. He's not accurate enough for that WR corp.

He’s been missing Bateman, his deep threat, but other than that he has the same WRs as the last few seasons. I don’t think they are good enough but they have been enough.

Has to be the lowest I've ever seen for L. Jackson rankings and projections.

Probably the first time in a long time owners are considering benching.

Feels like a trap.

I've benched him the last several weeks in the two leagues I've had him but only because I am fortunate to have good backups (Maye and Mayfield). No Maye this week so my playoff hopes (win and I'm in, lose and I'm probably out) rest in Lamar's hands.

In the one league that I own Jackson I benched him for Stafford two weeks ago.

The rushing stats are what has supported his "stud QB" status ever since he became the starter. He's not running since returning from the hammy so, that's about 5-6 points off his normal projection.

Kind of like Hurts w/o the tush push TDs... where would that place him in weekly rankings?

and you have to decrease it again to consider the number of tds that are because he ran around for 10 seconds then found a wide open wr

Absolutely killing me in a best ball league. I've had to use lamar's scores in the last four weeks and am spotting most everyone 20 pts a week.

Yes, he had a long (time-wise) scramble on Thursday night... might have been the completion that almost went for a TD (dude fumbled at the one)? You could see how he was running there... flat-footed... picking his legs feet up like he was running on a giant bug strip instead of up on the balls of his feet. Something way off with his wheels.

I feel so relieved in snapping up Brissett off waivers last night after someone dropped him. Now I can breathe easy since he’s been a solid starter and I’ll have LJ ready on the bench if he heals up a bit and shows signs of life by week 16 when I need him.

Cost me the game last week I wish I never drafted him I could have just taken Josh Allen :wall:
I had Allen ranked higher coming into the season, but I'd never had Lamar before, so figured why not? Thankfully I dealt him shortly after he came back, because I'd been rolling with Maye in his absence and just felt comfortable continuing that, but yeah, Allen should have always been #1.

This has been my QB decision for three weeks in a row. Chose Lamar over Brissett all three times. After another Lamar clunker on Thanksgiving, I said never again. Now I'm faced with the exact same decision and I'm finding it's so damn difficult to bench Lamar.

It’s tough, but I’m playing Brissett over Lamar until Lamar posts one good game on my bench. Might not happen again this season, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I don't think I could do it.

Brissett against most likely a pissed of LAR D.

Such a strange QB world we live in. As a NE fan, I watched Brissett look like he couldn't play the game anymore and now this. Then last week, B. Young shreds the LAR D. And in this same strange world, MVP Lamar Jackson can't play the position anymore.

How is Josh Allen an overrated passer? He isn't overrated one bit. He literally has ZERO downfield threats at WR. Nobody ever gets open for him. The Bills mid-season had to desperately sign Gabe Davis and Brandin Cooks from the scrap heap because their WR room is so poor. Allen went into the 2025 season with Keon Coleman as his starting X Receiver and Josh Palmer as his starting Z receiver. Khalil Shakir is purely an underneath slot receiver who is very limited. He has the Worst WR room in the NFL. And despite that fact, he still has a 100 Passer Rating and near-70% completion%.

Imagine Josh Allen throwing to Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens like Dak Prescott.
Imagine Josh Allen throwing to Jamarr Chase and Tee Higgins like Joe Burrow.
Imagine Josh Allen throwing to AJ Brown and Devonta Smith like Jalen Hurts.
Those guys have TWO #1 WRs. Allen has ZERO #1 WRs.

Allen and LamaRB are completely different style players. LamaRB is dependent on his running to open up his passing game, Allen IS NOT. Allen can take off and run, but unlike LamaRB, he doesn't RELY on his running to open up the passing game. Allen's game will age tremendously well, UNLIKE LamaRB.

Doesn't matter, the top tier of fantasy QBs over the past 6+ years all have one thing in common... they have numbers that are seriously boosted by rushing yds and/or rushing TDs. Any disruption to that makes them JAG (basically a streaming QB).

Lamar is the current poster child for this. Maybe Dart too if the NYG game plan continues per MNF.

Still, AZ can’t run, and will be throwing all game.

Let’s say Lamar throws for 200/1 and rushes for 20 yards, that’s 16 points. I like Brisset to do that pretty easily.

Oddly enough, in one league where I own Lamar Brissett was just dropped lol. Hmmm.

Stafford had a bad game and the Rams still scored 28 points. AZ is going to need points. Baltimore-Pitt is a 19-17-type game. AZ is playing inside while Balt is playing outside also. Pretty easy decision IMO.
