QB Shedeur Sanders, CLE (2 Viewers)

I'm not sure how anybody who watched college football last year would rate Gabriel over Sanders, but here we are.

Is this :fishing: You mean the guy with the 2nd most passing yards and passing TDs ever in college football. The one with the 13-1 record and playoff appearances and games against B10 programs. Yeah, that guy has no chance to be good.:bored: But the kid that Daddy pulled along and went 13-12 in college. He's the star?? Maybe he gets good. He is not now, or he'd be on the field.

But, but, Deion is so cool, and I don’t follow college football at all but ESPN told me that Colorado was good because Deion is a legendary coach. I don’t know or care that he only went to one bowl game and lost it in the two years he was at Colorado.

ESPN and most sports media publications also told me that Shedeur really should have been a first round pick but the mean nasty NFL GMs conspired to keep him down! For reasons, or something.

Shedeur rules, and is better than Dillon Gabriel in every way, especially because Gabriel’s short, which is the only stat of Gabriel’s I bothered to learn or pay attention to. It’s a crime that Gabriel was drafted before Shedeur.

Signed - Average Shedeur Sanders appreciator

No real dog in the fight, but Gabriel was a 6 year (64 game) starter. I'd hope he was near the top in college career numbers. He basically played twice as much as most college QBs.

Being high in career college numbers is kind of meaningless when it comes to projecting NFL success, in fact, one could argue if he was a good prospect he wouldn't have been in college that long.

The only QB in the top-20 career yardage with NFL success is Baker Mayfield (we'll see on Bo Nix) The only NFL success QBs in the top-20 career pass TDs are Mayfield and Derek Carr. Otherwise, its a bunch of career backups like Case Kennum, Ty Detmer, or Mason Rudolph, or guys who weren't NFL caliber guys like Timmy Chang, Graham Harrell, or current Saints HC Kellen Moore.

ETA: 2nd most snaps played in college history behind only Timmy Chang

Victory laps? Pfft

In 10 years will it even matter?
Heck, in 2 will it?

Where's that Browns QB jersey pic with all those names on it? Has it been updated?
That's pretty funny. They should have stopped at Baker Mayfield, #1 overall draft pick. He had a bad throwing arm and played through it is why his numbers were down the year they gave up on him. Paid the most guaranteed money ever to a guy with sexual lawsuit from over a dozen 'victims' hanging over his head. I've heard DeShaun Watson is rehabbing furiously and knee recovery is going well though. He's been terrible so far with Cleveland though.

I thought Stefanski's "decision" on who to make the backup wasn't actually a decision. Why would they make Bailey Zappe their #2, lol. It was coach-speak. Let the week play out, blah, blah, blah. Stefanski probly feels like he needs to slow-roll Shedeur due to all the attention surrounding him.

One play away now. I can't see Gabriel holding onto the job because of performance, so with or without an injury, we're very likely to see Shedeur this season. For what it's worth, Rees has been complimentary of his preparation.

The Shedeur Sanders watch has officially begun...
