QB Tyrod Taylor, NYJ (3 Viewers)

well i guess the only slam dunk places he could be the starter are denver or jax
He makes perfect sense in either of those places- in Jacksonville would be the ideal place. Fournette, AR15, Dede, Lee, Hurns. That could be a fun offense.

Tierod looked pretty good after he came in last week..maybe it was just a ploy to motivate him. If it was it worked.

(USA Today Fantasy Sports) Updating an earlier report, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) did not suffer ligament damage in his knee and is day-to-day with a patella tendon contusion, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

(RotoWire) Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Taylor (knee) will still be the team's starting quarterback if he's healthy enough to play, adding that Taylor is day-to-day with a patella tendon contusion, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Analysis: Taylor avoided major ligament damage but nonetheless may be dealing with significant pain. The decision to label him "day-to-day" doesn't mean much, as McDermott has widely used that terminology all season, including with players that don't have any shot to make it back for the next game. Taylor completed nine of 18 passes for 65 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 23-3 loss to the Patriots, but he was much better the previous two weeks, and Nathan Peterman's five-interception calamity is still fresh in everyone's minds. With the Bills still right in the thick of the wild-card hunt, Taylor will start against the Colts on Sunday if he's healthy enough to do so.

Probably seasons too late.

Watkins, Woods, Goodwin, Benjamin, Hogan......At some ####### point you got to stop making excuses for this guy. If the guy isn't wide open.....Taylor isn't throwing the ball. Absolutely zero clue how to read defenses and anticipation. :lmao:  Of course he doesn't throw INT's.......If there isn't 10 yards of separation between his receiver and defender....he doesn't throw it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE when I hear Taylor has had a limited WR supporting cast :lmao:

Not denying that Taylor shoulders a good portion of the blame, but those factors you mention -- a bare WR corp (we'll see what having Benjamin will do with a full offseason under the belt), a TE corps that seems utile but is always dinged, and the fact that Taylor himself has suffered though a lot of injury himself -- makes me still think that Taylor shouldn't be the scapegoat he looks like he will become in Buffalo.

The only dependable weapon on Buffalo is Shady, so it's not all on Taylor, and you can't expect him to post gaudy stats given the Bills will approach a game plan with a balanced attack.

The guy has talent and looks to be a starting-caliber QB -- sometimes. Certainly not the worst starting QB in the league. Needs more development and consistency to be sure, but what young QB does not? Maybe the Bills should think about a more West Coast approach to suit his skills rather than force him to be a pocket passer given offensive design. It's not as if Taylor doesn't have the work ethic, or is a team player (didn't he restructure his contract to help the team?).

Don't blame the Bills or their fans for wanting to move on, but hard for me IMHO to think that Taylor is getting a little bit of an undeserved rap.

I think his point was that Hogan managed to be a dependable weapon for Brady, Goodwin a dependable weapon for Garoppolo, and to an extent Woods has become a dependable weapon for Goff.

But somehow when they played with Tyrod, he had no dependable weapons at WR.

That may not be entirely conclusive, but it definitely seems like enough evidence to consider whether Tyrod was in fact the one who was not a dependable weapon.

I'd like to see Tyrod with a team that actually schemes to take advantage of his rushing ability - and not just scrambling, but designed run plays. If there was a team willing to do that, then he might look like an above average QB. As it is, he's an average to below average starter with a decent deep ball and overall poor QB instincts. Any team that signs him and just makes him a pocket passer (and Buffalo basically did this year) is I think going to be disappointed.

I'm actually struggling to think of a team that would be a good fit for him - it's common to throw around Denver and Jacksonville as possibilities and those might work, but other than that, it's tough. No one is going to view him as a potential long term answer after the past two seasons and he's probably good enough to just barely get you to the playoffs. He'd be a decent bridge player for a year or two with a rookie on the bench, but if he's in that kind of situation the fan base will be pushing for the rookie early on if they are a relatively high draft pick (that even happened with Peterman this year to some extent). He's sort of an in between guy - a bit too good to hold a clipboard, but not quite good enough that you can sell him to your fan base as a viable starting option for more than a season.

Tyrod is so done in Buffalo.

Maybe if he falls into the right situation he can succeed somewhere else.

Nobody is going to waste their time doing that. That is not how you win Super Bowls.

I don't think he's too good to hold a clip board. He's basically Colin Kaepernick without the drama.

I'd take Tyrod to backup Mariota. But I wouldn't be surprised if he lands in Houston behind Watson.

Tyrod Taylor won't take a pay cut to remain with the Bills.

Taylor wants to stay in Buffalo, but his future is in doubt after another uneven season. The Bills can save $15 million from making Taylor a post-June cut and look likely to move on. The Broncos, who went after Taylor in 2015 free agency, have been connected as a possible landing spot.

$6 million. But imo they should help him, start him with Peterman learning another year.
Ok well there’s that. But they can certainly get value in a trade which is much more valuable. I don’t see Taylor back with the bills but anything is possible.

Browns strike again. This time, Cleveland agrees to trade a mid-round draft pick to Buffalo for QB Tyrod Taylor, source tells ESPN. Taylor now will throw to new Browns’ WR Jarvis Landry. And Buffalo back in QB market. More on SportsCenter now.

landry stock just took a nose dive unless they draft a qb
Someone said to me the Tyrod likes to throw slot guy a lot, but his slot guys have been terrible. I don't believe in Landry after the trade, but I might be wrong. Buffalo gave Tyrod nothing to work with and he still managed to win games. With Gordon, Coleman and Landry on the field, it might be that he can actually get better and Landry will get his balls anyway.

Browns coach Hue Jackson stated Thursday that Tyrod Taylor will be his starting quarterback for 2018.

"He's going to be the starting quarterback," said Jackson. "There is no competition." DeShone Kizer was the NFL's youngest starting quarterback in league history last year, yet Jackson benched him repeatedly. It sounds like Taylor will have a longer leash, although the pressure to play quarterbacks drafted No. 1 overall is always immense. We expect the Browns to draft a quarterback first.

Browns coach Hue Jackson doesn't view Tyrod Taylor as a "bridge quarterback."

"This is the starting quarterback on our team," said Jackson. "There are no 'bridge' players. This guy walks in having more wins than a lot of people in this building. Hopefully, that will rub off on the rest." This is coachspeak, but Taylor looks entrenched as the Week 1 starter. With Cleveland expected to draft a quarterback first overall, Taylor is going to have a short leash.

Minicamp observations: Tyrod Taylor’s the man; Josh Gordon got ahead of himself; increase in talent is obvious

Excerpt:

HE’S THE MAN

I didn’t expect to be writing this much about Tyrod Taylor at this point on the calendar. I know he’s the starting quarterback and new to the team, but he’s not Tom Brady. More relevant to the Browns, he’s not Baker Mayfield.

But Taylor has made it impossible to not make him a major focus of my coverage. His impact on the organization in three months has been enormous and he’s solidified his spot as the starter despite the oversized presence of Mayfield, the No. 1 pick in the draft. I expected Mayfield to at least threaten for the starting job, but Taylor has widened the gap.

As impressive as his leadership has been, his performance on the field shouldn’t be overlooked. He starts by making quick and correct decisions. Then he delivers an accurate ball with tons of touch.

“It’s just so easy for him,” quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese said Thursday. “He doesn’t strain to get distance and that’s the best thing. His smooth stroke, he’s got plenty of power and distance, so it never looks like he’s grunting to throw.”

Taylor will give the Browns a chance to win a number of games this year.

Is zero a number?

In all honesty, I don't think they reach .500 but there's a chance, despite Hue. Maybe even finish above Baltimore or Cincy.  The talent is there, although it will be interesting to listen to people talk about how drafting Mayfield was a mistake (should have walked away with both Chubbs)

Coach Hue Jackson reiterated Monday that Tyrod Taylor is locked in as the Browns' starting quarterback.

"Do you want me to say it again?" Jackson asked reporters, rhetorically. "Tyrod is our starting quarterback." No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield has yet to throw an interception in training camp and has impressed with his accuracy, but the Browns gave up the 65th overall pick for Tyrod and are paying him $16 million in salary and bonuses. Nevertheless, Mayfield could apply pressure to Taylor by performing well in preseason games.

Here's the deal with this guy. He doesn't go off every week but I have had this guy put up HUGE NUMBERS in my starting lineup. If you completely ignored the Quarterback position and settled on T-Mobile late, you would probably be fine if you drafted your RB and WR correctly.

Browns QB Tyrod Taylor was 5-for-5 passing for 99 yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s preseason game versus the Giants.

Taylor found Jarvis Landry for a 32-yard gain on his first pass of the game and then again for another four yards before the opening drive inevitably fizzled out. On his second and final drive, Taylor connected with Rishard Higgins on two passes for 6 and 21 yards before finding David Njoku down the seam for a 36-yard touchdown. He added two yards rushing on one carry. Head Coach Hue Jackson has named Taylor the undoubted starting quarterback entering the season, giving Taylor appeal for those opening the season looking to stream the quarterback position.
