Takes a bit to throw off the priors, I guess. Even Mahomes wasn’t an immediate stud (but he was close to that once the starting job was his).QB1 on the week and hardly any chatter....half dozen posts

I imagine it will be expensive trying to trade for him coming off of that performance. What is his trade value in a non-superflex where I need a young qb prospect and i am also in win now mode.
Bad QB injuries this weekend.
Is a 3rd rounder too low? 2nd rounder seems too rich?

I think it would have to be a 2nd rounder easily in non SF. I took him in my non SF rookie draft I think in the very back part of round 2/start of round 3 for the same reasons as you ( I have Lamar and Carr ) as I’d collated a few 2/3rd round picks so had some darts to throw. If you’re going to try and get him after a 4TD debut people will be looking for some kind of profit on whatever draft pick they spent and will be dependant on individual owner/team situation.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Will Levis will start in the Titans’ Week 9 matchup against the Steelers.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the Titans are on a short week and Ryan Tannehill is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain. The bigger story here, however, is what another strong outing by Levis could mean going forward. The Titans’ offense looked much more explosive with Levis under center, as the rookie signal-caller completed 19-of-29 passes for 238 yards and four touchdowns in his debut. Another impressive start in Week 9 against the Steelers could be enough to unseat Tannehill as the starter for the remainder of the season.

He was picked up off faab for 2 dollars on Wednesday. I bid 1 dollar![]()
it's funny how one game can change a guy's value so much but that's the reality, many had written him off as a bust before he played a snap. After Sunday he looks like the 2nd coming of Dan Marino. Of course he could throw 4 interceptions next week but I think people are going to want a lot to trade him right now. You didn't specify 1 or 2 QB league, if 1 QB league maybe you'd have a shot from a team not really in need of a young QB.What is his trade value in a non-superflex where I need a young qb prospect and i am also in win now mode.

The Titans allowed zero sacks. He got blamed for when he was. They have been awful for a couple years and their history is a very proud OL history so it's a bit extra rough. Not coincidentally it's the first time since 2021 they scored 28 points. They're filled w journeymen that can absolutely have a chip on their shoulder and play well. Skoronski is incredible so impressive but they put the top T at G and idk. Ya can't have confidence in a line that gets a QB hit a lot and say the QB will do well.@Bri
Would appreciate as much of your thoughts as you're willing to share prior to Week 9 Free Agency commencing. Thanks!
So he is the Derek Zoolander of QBs?
One tough to swallow gripe was Levis can't throw left. He can throw screens and anywhere deep but he won't throw left. I was well why would you even draft a guy that high that can't throw left. What? In camp they had him living on the right hash mark and worked on it.
thinking about blowing the rest of my FAAB wad on this guy. Thoughts?
I’d consider it in SF/2QB leagues, but be aware that Vrabel may stubbornly go back to Tannehill once he’s healthy.thinking about blowing the rest of my FAAB wad on this guy. Thoughts?

Arthur said something like, Ridder got the ball at the five and any time we got it out of there, he got hit, we didn't help him today. I'm afraid of that for Levis like sincere.
I didn't want them starting him and getting him smacked, stick to the plan and sit a year to develop. They did though.
The Falcons had eight of eleven defensive starters get injured and lost their beast DT Grady for most of the game.
Here I wanna say the line only did well against a bunch of backups because it fits and I'm afraid to discredit a great first game BUT they all played a hurt defense.
Ellis (good but not Micah) had five pressures and a sack or two. He isn't TJ Watt. What happens in three days? Are they a good line or do the Steelers smash him to the ground?
Kelly was on an every other week run Henry, don't run him and get in trouble streak. Yesterday you could see when he went away from Henry things started to get bad. It's almost painful how ridiculous it is for him to even have thoughts like that as a Titans OC. Henry is everything to Levis, everything! He gets him time. He gets him a D with eight in the box. He's so important to Levis.
What an arm. Holy wow it's effortless too. We've never had one of those in TEN. Some of those deep shots could have probably been intercepted if a D even expected he could throw like that. The ones he connected on were beautiful and exciting. He's gonna be a heartbreaker some weeks for sure.
He made good decisions. Only one almost INT. He played within himself and huge huge kudos to new QB coach Charles London who they stole from Atlanta. With Malik's progress that coach deserves a huge raise.
One tough to swallow gripe was Levis can't throw left. He can throw screens and anywhere deep but he won't throw left. I was well why would you even draft a guy that high that can't throw left. What? In camp they had him living on the right hash mark and worked on it.
Yesterday he didn't throw left as described. Panic! Defenses are going to figure that out fast! But wait neither does Ryan Tannehill. Next Gen stats have em both taking a few throws left but Burks drops it or whoever and Nuk is on the right with slot or TE over the middle and hmmm it also makes total sense there's no completions to the left. Soooo I guess we don't know.
What is Kelly's prob that half the field isn't utilized? That's a big prob I didn't realize til yesterday. Geesh.
Titans do have money now and are rumored to be adding a couple WRs that I do not imagine happens. Just feels like bleh. Burks and Kelly gotta get the left side rolling and Vrabel's gotta tell em'.
Chig still looks bad. Whyle returns Thursday and he looks good. I think he may steal Chig's job sooner than later. I think a good TE can help a young QB and Whyle may be something for the FF playoffs, bit of a stretch but maybe. I got him in a couple leagues where pickings are slim anyways.
On the radio they were saying Levis' deep ball is going to have teams playing bigger zones. It's too easy for him to not spread out more so mid range should be there often.
Kelly has always loved the deep ball (Moore, Cooks, Fuller) so I'm sure that continues.
I've got Levis doing a Jeff George imitation the rest of this year. Gonna be a lot of yards, lot of sacks, and a lot of interceptions. The line controls my point of view here more than anything.
Vrabel said Tannehill will get the job back when he returns. Yeah... we'll see what happens Thursday. He's very good at keeping players grounded but I don't think anyone believed that statement.
If Henry is traded, my good thoughts on Levis go with him. This is not a fast athletic line made to block for Spears ala Tiki Barber. He hasn't shown the inside tough runs just the tiki like dang he's fast on outside runs. Chestnut is out for the year. Defenses would be wider and no more eight in the box and...my hopes will go with Henry.
I still have some "why couldn't you beat out Willis" thoughts lingering.
We're all making guesses off one game...I hope that's enough background for everyone.
Sold!!!!Marcus Mariota lit up the Bucs in his first game too.
4 TDs too!! I wouldn’t crown Willy just yet.Sold!!!!Marcus Mariota lit up the Bucs in his first game too.
Nah, he had issues he needed to work thru and forced some things and all usual rookie stuff. Plenty of camp reports saying this stuffGood stuff, i'll just offer two comments,The Titans allowed zero sacks. He got blamed for when he was. I think it seems sorta obvious that he didn't beat out Willis b/c Vrabel didn't want to play him too soon, the reality was Willis got a little time to show he still isn't good and then they went with Levis.
For the reasons you stated i think they hold onto Henry, building potential franchise QB's confidence and not having him get railroaded is worth more than a 3rd round pick or whatever they could get for him.

He better not. I blew most of my FAAB wad on him.I can see him turning into a pumpkin (two days late) on the road against the Steelers in a tough place to play, but as stated above, there are a lot worse options out there these days.
I haven’t put the claim in yet but I’m sitting on the number one WW move this week and think it’s time to go all in on Levi’s. I need to swing for the fences and end the ongoing rotation of bums I have been starting as I twait for Fields to get back on the field. It’s a tough decision since one good game by Levis is not really much of a sample.I’m starting Levis over the likes of Howell, Carr, Minshew and Geno in a 1QB 12 man Redraft this week.
I realize I’m chasing points and might regret it, but what if he does what he did last week again against a Steelers squad without Minkah Fitzpatrick? I’ll bet I wouldn’t be able to pick Levis up for free after that and I’d be kicking myself for missing out on fixing my terrible QB situation. Levis is my ticket out of QB streaming hell.
One game is one game.
There's definite downside and upside. The way things work- he's awesome Sunday night then the down has been pointed out a bunch... probably time to revisit Burks, Phillips, Chig, and Whyle.
If ya like 2(?) of them then your probably expect the offense to improve quite a bit. They all probably combine for ten catches worth noting. Getting them involved would be a good idea for Titans OC Kelly to have.
Tannehill is good for 200 yards and no mistakes. Levis has a cannon and while he can probably easily throw for 400 he can also easily throw three INTs.
In a perfect world, they would use the QB that matches the opponent best but the NFL is insane with traditions so that'll never happen.
(Malik should be a goal line weapon too)
Gotta see how this game goes.
Every QB stinks under pressure. Some have good games under pressure but not careers. It's the nature of the game n all.
How bad is Levis when Watt is chasing him? I wouldn't think twice about blowing off whatever happens the first time or two -I'd be scared too- but then what? Let's see that. I think that'll make the future decision for the Titans.
High ankle sprains are 4-6 weeks without tightrope surgery. I think he's more like three but it's such a weird read because it's also not supposed to happen after tightrope surgery. Anywho, when we were panicking that two inexperienced guys could start, there was a rush with Tannehill. That rush is gone right now. That too can change Thursday.

According to pff Levis was 4 of 6 for 9 yards when blitzed. I liked Levis coming out of college, however I think he is in for a bad week against the steelers.

Even with Minka out?
The SOS data doesn't show that the Steelers are a secondary to fear.
Yes, that would be insane to think. It's insane to think the Titans wasted two first rd picks on QB in back to back years and both are going to be cut by 2025.
Idk if that's good or bad. 4 of 6 is good but nine yards seems tiny for four passes. One game is one game.

Usually strong Ds with poor QBs usually break down at some point in the second half like it's just too much to ask the D to carry them or they're simply tired. One game is one game.

Steelers are bottom 10 in coverage, however they are #8 in the league in pass rush according to pff.
Since levis had such poor stats against pressure last week. For what it is worth Atlanta is in the bottom 5 for pass rush this year according to pff.
It equals around A 70 passer rating which would put him at the bottom of the list for starting QBs. Like you said, small sample size.Idk if that's good or bad. 4 of 6 is good but nine yards seems tiny for four passes. One game is one game.

We need more data still, give the guy some time
Someone in my 12 team 1QB redraft league just dropped 20% FAAB on him. I'm not sold as a ROS option but could see playing him as a streamer. Playing HOU twice in the fantasy playoffs is also a perk although both teams are likely just 'playing out the string' for the year.thinking about blowing the rest of my FAAB wad on this guy. Thoughts?
Usually strong Ds with poor QBs usually break down at some point in the second half like it's just too much to ask the D to carry them or they're simply tired. One game is one game.

I'd lean towards this as the Steelers issue for some games this year. Pickett is really questionable.
Trubisky gets his fifteenth second chance so maybe it's different but...
I agree with all of this except the word “tonight” because the game is tomorrow.Devil's Advocate:
We all know how crappy most Thursday Night Football games wind up being. Short week to prepare, and mostly bad football.
Game is @ Pittsburgh. Tough place to play, and coached by one of the most highly-regarded Defense-oriented HC's in the NFL in Mike Tomlin, who, many times before, has made lemonade out of lemons when key defensive personnel are not available for a game. Based on precedent, I'll bet dollar to donuts that Tomlin will have something special cooked up for Levis that will likely cause him great difficulty even coming close to what he did at home vs a bad Falcons team this past Sunday.
They won that game at home, coming out of their bye week, had some familiarity with the opponent, and probably the healthiest and most prepared they've been for a game so far this season.
Coming off this win, the Titans find themselves at 3-4, and outside of trading Byard, stood pat at the trade deadline, somewhere in the hierarchy, there are probably playoff thoughts, no matter how dim and flickering. Despite a long layoff between tonight's game and their Sunday game @ Tampa, this is the start of a rare NFL 3-straight-game road trip. Long layoff between tonight and Sunday 11/12 gives Tannehill plenty of time to heal up, and put a much more experienced QB under center for a (likely, IMHO) 3-5 team after tonight, that needs to win at least one of the next 2 games @ Bucs and @ Jags, to keep whatever playoff hopes they have alive.
We're asking a lot out of a very raw prospect who has very visible flaws to his game (please, everyone, read @Bri 's take upthread. He's the SP's SME on the Titans. Read Waldman, or McFarland or Jahnke, and get some perspective beyond what you think you saw), and over-performed under relatively favorable circumstances on Sunday.
That's too much minus for me.
IMHO, it's even money tonight that he has a more typical rookie outing tonight, the Titans lose, and Tannehill starts for the 3-5 Titans 10 days later @ Tampa Bay.
I'm not paying FAAB in redraft Leagues for what it's going to cost to chase the stats he put up on Sunday, and I lost Cousins as my starting QB on 3 very solid National Contest High-Stakes teams, with Geno, Fields and (gulp) Ridder on those Rosters, and slim pickings on the WW in all 3 Leagues.
...but what do I know? Just MHO. Good luck to everyone who takes the chance!
