QB Zach Wilson, MIA (2 Viewers)

Wilson was simply scrambling? I've seen many QBs do what he did on that play. What I'm saying is I wouldn't describe the play as a QB trying to shot off his wheels. I can make a case for a spot on the field where maybe he should have started to slide but honestly the field was wide open for him to be doign what he was attempting. And he was scrambling pretty quickly to his right, I don't believe it was a designed run and his pocket or any potential pocket collapsed quickly. I'm rewatching and he clearly has DL coming at him and he's decided to take off...hard to fault Wilson on this play.

The Jets have yet to rule Zach Wilson (knee surgery) out for Week 1.

Coach Robert Saleh expects the decision to come down to opening week. While that is encouraging, Wilson is still moving "gingerly" and is only able to "watch practice from a distance for now." We would expect Joe Flacco to be out there against the Ravens, with Wilson returning in Week 2 or 3.

Yeah, this seems like the classic "let's make them waste some practice reps preparing for the other guy" situation.

They don't want Baltimore to be able to spend the entire week thinking about to attack the Flacco statue.

Would be shocked if Zach plays

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Zach Wilson (knee) will miss at least the season's first four weeks.

Saleh said he wants Wilson to recover physically and mentally after suffering a preseason knee injury that required surgery. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Wilson "had no setbacks" in his recovery. As NFL Network's Gregg Rosenthal said, "This feels like a benching." After a miserable rookie season in which he posted the league's lowest completion rate over expected, Wilson reportedly was inconsistent throughout Jets training camp. Perhaps Saleh is conceding that the team's offense is in much better hands with Flacco or third-stringer Mike White under center.

Personally I love this move. Flacco gives this team the best chance to win right now. There's been nothing but positive reports on him this offseason. Looked solid in his start last year (better than Wilson looked at any time career to date). They're loaded with weapons on offense. Gives Flacco enough time to either show they can win with him (and they can say "Joe's playing so well" so don't bench after a month) or they flounder and Zach is now "fully healthy" to start again.

Benched after a season for a statute of a cast-off in Flacco and the fans love it. Has anyone the modern game fallen so far so fast?

The benching comment is complete speculation - the kid could have easily missed most of the year with how that knee injury looked - most JEts fans would have jumped on missing the 1st 4 games when it happened. I also dont know any JEts fans that are "loving it" - it creates a mess if Flacco wins a few games...but its the Jets so that is unlikely. If they get 13 games out of Wilson that is enough to measure his growth - plus now they can compare it to how the O moves with Flacco....

I don’t think this is accurate. The benching comment was speculative, and Wilson has a bone bruise, so talk of playing week 1 always seemed far-fetched to me.

As per "loving it" I was speaking about the post directly above mine

Jets HC Robert Saleh said Zach Wilson (knee) will see slightly more work in practice this week.

Wilson has already been ruled out for Week 3 against the Bengals, but the team notes that he is progressing well from his surgery to repair a torn meniscus suffered in the preseason. The Jets are 1-1 with Flacco at the helm and the team has yet to confirm whether or not Wilson would return in Week 4 against the Steelers. Flacco pushing the Jets to 2-1 this week could complicate the team's decision to start Wilson, even if he is ready to go.

He’s not a fan.

After losing Lance in my superflex league, thinking of preemptively picking up Zach this week in waivers with the expectation that he'll be back in week 4 or week 5.

The Jets fan in me is pretty skeptical on Zach ever being a fantasy star, but have to admit the thought of him throwing to Wilson, Moore, Hall, Carter, Davis, Berrios, etc. is pretty tempting.

The Jets fan in me

The Jets fan in me hopes he's a star, the football fan in me, based on what I've seen, finds that very unlikely, even with the weapons.

An analogy: What is more likely is that Zach comes back and the rest of the team is reading Jack and Jill fluently while they ask Zach to read Melville. It's going to be a bit ugly, I think, the disparity between the skill position guys and Zach.

I hear you, GB.

I have never been a Tua fan either and he seems to be making things happen with Hill and Waddle. A lot has to do with the system, which is still in question with Saleh/MLF.

I am still cautiously optimistic.

More than a couple of ex-QBs seem to think he has all the tools.

On the play he was injured, he correctly read the defense, smartly ran, and would have had a huge gain has his knee not tweaked. Up until that point he’d shown poise and I was impressed.

Way too early to give up on the kid. If he’s a FA in a SF league, that’s an automatic pickup IMO. Draft capital alone says he’s gonna get his chance.

That said, I did offer up ZWilson, McKenzie, ETN & a ‘23 1st for Jonathan Taylor. Might be an overpay if Wilson/ETN come around.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport Zach Wilson will be "in position" to play in Week 4 after practicing fully next week.

Rapoport noted that all has to go well in his ramp-up to Week 4, but things are on track for Wilson to return against the Steelers. Wilson got some limited practice sessions in last week and should be upgraded to a full participant by next Wednesday. Joe Flacco will get his final start in Week 3 versus the Bengals. The Jets have been fast and pass-happy under Flacco, making Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore viable FLEX options against Cincinnati.

Jets HC Robert Saleh of Zach Wilson (knee), "As soon as the doctors clear him, we will get him on the field."

Saleh noted that Wilson is "the future of the organization," which is what we'd expect to hear of a player who was drafted No. 2 overall just a year ago. Wilson continues to rehab from a preseason knee injury that required surgery, but it doesn't sound like there will be much of a quarterback controversy between Wilson and Joe Flacco once Wilson is healthy. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently reported that Wilson will be "in position" to start in Week 4 when the team faces off against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Zach Wilson (knee) has been medically cleared to play and will start Week 4 against the Steelers.

Joe Flacco, who leads the NFL with 165 drop backs and 155 pass attempts, will take a seat after filling in for the injured Wilson. The Jets generally played at a slower pace and with a focus on a more balanced offense when Wilson started 13 games in 2021. He was among the NFL's least accurate passers, with Jets pass catchers seeing a marked drop in opportunity and production with Wilson under center. All Jets running backs, receivers, and tight ends should get a slight downgrade with Flacco once again holding the clipboard. Wilson is only usable in superflex formats.

I hope this is good for E. Moore.

Zach Wilson completed 19-of-37 passes for 257 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions in the Jets' 24-20, Week 4 win over the Steelers.

Wilson opened the day with a receiving touchdown on a trick play. He was open in the end zone for an easy completion from Braxton Berrios. He struggled for the better part of the next three quarters, throwing a pair of ugly interceptions along the way. However, Wilson showed up when it counted most and led the Jets on a game-winning drive in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. Wilson has a lot to work on but made a handful of impressive throws against a strong defense. The second-year passer is worth adding in Superflex leagues but can be left on the wire in all other formats for his Week 5 matchup with the Dolphins.

Zach Wilson (ankle) was limited during Wednesday's practice.

Wilson seems to have dinged up his ankle in the team's Week 4 win over the Steelers. It doesn't seem like a serious injury if Jets head coach Robert Saleh is to be believed. Wilson led the Jets to a fourth quarter comeback in Week 4, completing 19-of-37 passes for 257 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. His completion rate over expected ranked 28th among QBs in Week 4. Wilson is a usable QB2 in superflex formats.

Jets OC Mike LaFleur said Zach Wilson (ankle) was "able to do enough" in practice on Wednesday.

Saleh and the Jets seem to feel good about Wilson's status ahead of the team's Week 5 matchup against the Dolphins. The fact that he logged a limited session on Wednesday suggests he's trending in the right direction for playing in a game that could feature a lot of points. Wilson is a viable QB2 in superflex leagues but can be kept on the waiver wire in traditional 1QB formats.

Zach Wilson completed 10-of-18 passes for for 110 yards in the Jets’ 27-10, Week 6 win over the Packers.

Wilson didn’t have a spectacular individual game, but did his job well enough for the team to win. Wilson was cool, calm and in control as the Jets used defense and a dominate day from Breece Hall to get the win. Wilson was solid, but not quite a fantasy play unless your in super-flex leagues.

Someone’s kid must have gotten hold of an account.

You know your qb is good when the offense's best game plan is to keep him from playing.
That’s pretty funny. The coaches are trying to keep it simple for him, but a big part of the reason they’re doing that is he’s facing sustained pressure in the pocket and can’t get comfortable. That and the run game is absolutely dominating.

You're out on the wrong limb on this guy and this team, Philly.
I'm not down on the team. That d looks legit and their skill players on offense are incredibly talented. Wilson made a handful of throws today where he should have thrown it away and GB couldn't capitalize, and that was with the coaches taking the ball out of his hands.
