I’m dragging and I have a good idea why, the past 10 days have been a bit much. It started out with a couple’s weekend celebrating a friend's birthday up in the Finger Lakes. This involved cramming my 6’ 1” frame in the 3rd row of a Dodge Durango for 4 hours each way, and wine tasting all day Saturday which included a stop at the distillery for whiskey tasting. I did a decent job keeping the drinking under control and was able to hit my mileage goal for that week.
I had to travel for work last week, Eagles played Thursday night, my wife had abdominal pain on Friday and I took her to the ER which we spend 12 hours at and they found nothing wrong (good news), for the week ran 11 miles at HMP or faster, and got in my 60 miles for the week. This involved running a double on Thursday and running at 8:00 PM Friday after the day spent in the ER.
This morning I woke up with a scratchy throat and my recovery run was extra slow. I have a 3 X 2 miles @HMP-10 planned for tomorrow. I have to travel for work again this week, and it looks like I have to travel next week. I have my parents 70th birthday party coming Saturday and a stupid baby shower that I have to attend on Sunday. This doesn’t include all the normal activities my 3 kids have or the fact that my wife is operating at less than 100%.
The good news is that it is October starting tomorrow and it’s time to get to work, I’m hoping I’ll be able to go to bed at 8 tonight and I’ll feel better tomorrow.
