Dillion looked good to start the year too and that didn’t mean much. The offense is just better with Jones in, and the team knows it.

Have you followed his career? He’s an extraordinary talent, but has incurred a good number of injuries.

I have. He’s been my main keeper in my big league for the past 3 yrs.
I agree he’s had injuries at times but I’ve seen no inclinations of wearing down yet. Still really explosive and handling a good share of the snaps. The shin thing is kind of a freak thing imo and he seems to have recovered quickly.

Entering Week 15, Jones hadn't topped a dozen carries in a game since Week 10. He crushed that number this week, but only because AJ Dillon exited the game with a concussion at the end of the third quarter. Heading into halftime, Dillon had actually been on the field for more snaps than Jones. He had also been operating as the Packers' goal line back and secured a pair of touchdowns. If Dillon cannot suit up in Week 16, Jones will bump up to the RB1 range versus Miami. Dillon's return would send him back to the RB2 ranks.

Maybe. If AR leaves they’ll run more but defenses will just double Watson and gear up to stop the run.

I just took him in the 6th round of FFPC redraft league this morning so he should be pretty cheap considering his age and expectations for this upcoming season.

One nice thing about going after him is the restructure now let's us know he'll be a Packer and likely play the same role, with obvious possible to likely QB change. That's ideal in the respect that a lot of the RB's you might want to go after for a lower price right now you have some concern the draft or FA RB market might reduce their value and he at least seems insulated from that right now. Which is part of the reason I drafted him.

Would not be surprised if he takes a step backwards at his age but that is why he can probably be had at a low price which makes him a good target…expectations have to be realistic…if he goes to 1,250 total yards he is still a quality fantasy RB…as for the playoffs I think you can be doing a ton worse than Jones once the injuries start piling up…no position gets injured more and depth is beyond important come playoff time which is why a player like Jones is a great add for a team that is close.

Dillon is very good. Pff grades of 80+ his first 3 years in the league. He had slightly better pff grades than Jones in 2020 & 2021. In 2022, Jones was a little better. By the eye test, Jones looks more explosive and better as a receiver, although Dillon caught almost everything thrown his way in 2021, 34 of 37 targets.

Dillon was also more powerful between the tackles.

They also were used in dramatically different fashion. I would love to see Dillon on some of those 1-cut plays they run for AJones - massive gaps to run through.

With Dillon, often it was “run him into a wall and see how he does”.

The last few games DIllon was coming on really strong while AJones was pretty banged up, IIRC.

I wouldn’t be surprised see a much more consistent season out of AJD in 2023, especially if Rodgers is gone.

I don’t agree with this. They’re vastly different styles of RB.

Dillon can be a workhorse, who gets stronger as the game goes on. He’s also an effective closer, used to grind out yards and kill clock in late and close games.

And he’s almost as fluid a receiver as Jones, which is remarkable for a dude his size.

25 in May. But I think they more meant that his contract is up after this year and he hasn’t had a chance to go full time on the job yet. So GB will have to decide if they are going to extend a 26 year old RB next year who’s never carried the full load. I don’t think most like those odds even if he gets heavier usage this year.

Aaron Jones rushed nine times for 41 yards and one touchdown in the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Bears, adding two receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown.

Prior to exiting with a hamstring injury, Jones looked unstoppable. He averaged a solid 4.6 yards per carry while leading the Packers with 41 rushing yards, and made the most of his two receptions. A 51-yard reception on a screen pass set Jones up for his lone rushing touchdown on the day, while his second catch, a 35-yarder, went for a score late in the third quarter. Jones’ exited with his injury after his second touchdown, but didn’t appear to be too hampered by his injury on the sideline. We’ll see how heals up ahead of Week 2’s matchup against the Falcons, but if he’s active, Jones should be treated as a fringe RB1.

And they tried in the first half...he looked good and yet they got away from him again. Went back to him in the drives to start the 2nd half and he showed why he needs to be featured more consistently.

Jones was arguably the best player on the field for either team on Sunday, as he averaged an impressive 11.5 yards per touch and scored two touchdowns. His final touchdown came on a 35-yard catch and run, which is also the play he was injured on. As LaFleur noted in Monday’s press conference, Jones being able to walk off the field under his own power was “encouraging,” but we don’t yet know if he’s at risk of missing Week 2 against the Falcons.
