RB Christian McCaffrey, SF (5 Viewers)

I think this also says a lot (and maybe more) about the prevalence of the spread offense, and it's use of backfield receivers, than the state of WR/OLs.

It is crazy, though.
I feel like the last few years the WR classes haven’t lit it up.

Bloom suggested on Twitter that the default PPR scoring needs to move to 0.5 PPr for RBs, 1.0 for WRs, 1.5 for TEs.

I could see that..  But not this year fellow owners :)

Currently six NFL RBs are on pace to break the single season reception record for an RB.

CMC - 160 reception pace
Chris Thompson - 152
Saquon Barkley - 128
Melvin Gordon -120
Alvin Kamara- 120
Theo Riddick - 112
Chris Thompson had 13 receptions this week.

Before this week, the last time that a RB had a 13+ reception regular season game was 2012.

This week, Thompson ranked 3rd among RBs in receptions, behind McCaffrey & Barkley.

I don't think the McCaffrey, Thompson, or Barkley owner would want to change the rule. Should we change the rules every time the NFL changes? QB's are putting up ridiculous numbers, should we change their touchdowns to 3 pts?

Holy crap, we’re cutting edge pioneers!  We did this when we set up our dynasty league in 2002 and have been advocates for it since then.

If you're not watching, CMac is killing it today.  Power running between the tackles and breaking all kinds of tackles.  24 carries and 169 yards with 6 minutes left.

patience has definitely paid off with this kid...CMC owners had to endure the year of comparisons too danny woodhead.

Stand pat in my position he would be competing for RB1 if he didn’t have vulture at the helm. But one could argue its Cam’s legs that also benefit CMC so eh.

So where are we at here? All the 200+ CJA carry guys haven’t been by for a visit in a while.

CJA “the workhorse” pace: 64 carries, 69 touches.

CMAC “the small, unable to carry the load guy” pace: 245 carries, 362 touches.

But, but neither guy is carrying the ball much and they are going to make a point of getting CJA more involved, right guys?

So much for CJA “the 200 carry lock” Anderson.

CMC 1,000/1,000 TRACKER

Game 1: 10 carries for 50 yards, 6 receptions for 45 yards

Game 2: 8 carries for 37 yards, 14 receptions for 102 yards

Game 3: 28 carries for 184 yards, 2 receptions for 10 yards

PACE: 1,445 yds rushing, 837 yds receiving

Christian McCaffrey has played 85.1 percent, 94 percent and 100 percent of the Carolina offense snaps over their opening three games.

McCaffrey's share of the team touches has gone from 32.7 percent to 44 percent to 53.4 percent.

McCaffrey -the RB12 overall and RB7 in points per game- is the only running back in the top-30 of overall scoring that has yet to score a touchdown.

Even with Newton continuing to be a thorn in his touchdown upside, McCaffrey has established one of the highest floors at the position as he’s elevated into a bellcow back this season, positing 95, 139 and 194 yards from scrimmage to start the year.

Ladies and gentleman, our guy is currently not quite on pace for 1k/1k. But there is time. And he is the current leader in yards from scrimmage per game. I believe!

22.5 touches per game.  Not quite the 25 Riveria said but more than the 15 most expected.

The Panthers have trailed for just 23.1 percent of their offensive snaps, the second-lowest rate in the league outside of the Chiefs (13.5 percent).

Panthers running backs average 2.66 yards before contact on their carries, the highest rate for a backfield.

He’s been an RB1 in each of his past two games despite only receiving 13.6 percent of the team targets, cementing him as one of the of the highest-floor players at this position. He already has 90 touches through four games after totaling 53 through four games as a rookie.

In a ppr keeper league where you keep 10 I was just offered CMC and Guice for Elliott.  CMC's usage makes me want to accept this trade.

Let's stop tracking this, shall we? I don't need bad mojo on the single player that's saving my team from going down in flames.
