RB Christian McCaffrey, SF (1 Viewer)

Just bet my entire re-draft season on CMC (Chase Brown + Puka 4 cmc)

Here we go.....
I gotta question what you are thinking here. CMC ain’t gonna give you that kind of return coming off a long term injury. Heck, they will likely ease him in and still spell him with Mason/others so they don’t overwork him. And this SF team isn’t lighting up the scoreboard like previous seasons; Purdy is now a known commodity. Brown is on the rise on a team that has to put up big points to win games, and Burrow is playing as well as he ever has which opens up running lanes. Puka is banged up, but a target machine the minute he steps on the field. And I haven’t even mentioned the most likely scenario—CMC misses more time.

Good luck though! It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong if CMC goes nuts for the second half of the season. I just don’t see it happening.

Ehh--- I play FF for fun & my 10 year old remembered CMC leading us to the title last year so he wanted to run it back.

The trade was a little bigger

I gave: Kyler, Chase Brown, Puka, DJ Moore
I got: Burrow, CMC, Charbonnett

These is a 12 team league with a million trades and we have a really strong team. Somehow we were having to decide between 5 WRs for 4 spots each each (3WR/1Flex: Jefferson, Lamb, Nabors, Gwilson, Puka) So it actually makes the lineup decision a little easier.
How do you have a 12 teamer redraft team with Jefferson, Lamb, Puka, Wilson, Nabors, and Moore? That's three first round picks, an early 2nd, and two 3rds.
I have made probably 8 different trades. I doubt anyone really wants me to get into it in this thread.

I also have burrow/achane/CMC/Mcbride

Seriously, I would be down reading about it if you don’t mind taking the time to share how you assembled the best FF team ever
Well unless Achance outscores Puka by 7 tonight.. I am going to be 6-4 lol

Ok 12 team-- tons of old college and new work buddies. $200 auction draft

I finish the draft w/
Burrow
KW3/Brian Robinson/JK Dobbins/Bucky
AJB/GWilson/DJ Moore/Zay Flowers/Tank Dell/X Worthy
Mcbride

After or right before week 2, I make a big trade:
Get: Jefferson, Achance,
Give: Burrow, AJB, Brian Robinson

A few weeks later, when Puka goes down for TBD---> I trade X Worthy for Puka (My biggest steal but this was when X was showing up, Chiefs guys going down & Puka out for an extended time)

Later on, I traded KW3 + Justin Fields for CD Lamb

I traded another owner: Jk Dobbins, Khalil Shakir, & Tucker kraft (Both waiver pick ups at the highest value) for Malik Nabors (I think dobbins has outscored him every week since this trade lol)

One owner had Daniels & Murray & no RBS so I traded him Tyrone Tracy (waiver pick up) for Murray.

I had a huge glut of WRS so I traded Zay Flowers for Chase Brown & Tank Dell for Tyler Allgeier in seperate deals

Than last week I made the Puka, Chase Brown, Kyler, DJM trade to get back Burrow & Mccaffrey.

I think that is all the trades.
Burrow
Achane
CMC
JJ
CD
Nabors
Mcbride
Wilson

Funny thing is my WRS combined for like 140 yard sunday and the lineup except burrow hasn't scored yet---> and the long term concern for all those wrs is kind of high cause the qbs & teams SUCK.

Are we as excited about him playing in a blizzard as he seems to be?
-QG
Snow expected to stop in the morning
Game is at night
Don't see a "blizzard"
Wind looks like it won't be a factor
Just a few feet of snow on the ground that should be cleared off the field by gametime
Plenty of "snow showers" in the stands though.
That'll be fun to watch
From my recliner
With a blanket
In my living room

They ran him like he was Marshawn Lynch last year. I tried to tell everyone how this story would end when the trade was made unless significant changes were made, like turning CMC into a hybrid slot WR. They treat running backs like **** under mini-Shanahan. What did everyone expect? San Francisco is where running backs go to die ever since Shanahan got there. In his 8 seasons as head coach, only one player has led the team in rushing twice. That's Christian McCaffrey in 2022 and 2023, and in 2022 he did it with 746 yards.

Hope he'll be alright in time, but for all intents and purposes, he's done for the fantasy season.....regardless of whether or not he's officially "out" for the season. Not even a TD this season....wow.

Fantasy doesn't matter when someone is injured, but this is the first time in years that I spent a 1st rounder on him. Crazy.

Might actually be a much better risk in redrafts next year if he falls.

Docs on Twitter who have been pretty good diagnosing this stuff are saying his knee on previous run could have been injured. Then he just went down on next run.

Either case he’s likely done for fantasy season.

If it truly is a knee injury, it could just be a simple sprain and he's ok in a week or two, hopefully.
He wasn't even cutting. Do we really believe that ****? Calf strain at best, torn achilles at worst. Not good either way.

You could see his knee shudder (twice) on the angle looking away at him.

May have injured it on the play he almost broke for a TD where he came down hard from a high drop.

He'll be 29 when the 2025 season begins. He's had quite the exciting career but he's never proven he has the ability to carry the load and come out healthy. He's had over 250 carries twice in his career, and both seasons will have ended with him in rehab assuming he doesn't come back this year. He was run into the ground last season. I wish him the best and hope he comes back 100%, but I won't be taking a chance on him in any circumstance. If this isn't the end, its near.

Regardless of the seriousness, at 5-8 after tonight, why would they even trot him out there again.

Even before any official announcement, I deem him droppable.

Hope he comes back strong next season...

His season is over. Shanny put so much tread on those tires, his best days are behind him. Still enough left to be a solid RB, but the workhorse 3 down back days are behind him. Sadly didn’t get the SB in SF either.

I have it on DVR, I don't see anything that looked like a problem with the knee from that long run.

On the last play he took a couple steps that looked normal then he pushed off with his right foot and immediately pulled up. Looks to me like it's either cramping/tightening up with the weather or just the tendonitis flaring up. I've been fighting tendonitis all year and when it flares it's like someone stuck a knife in there.

Certainly looked like he landed hard on his right kneecap on that previous play and realized something was wrong as soon as he took that next snap and started to run. Fortunately, I don’t think it has anything to do with his previous Achilles injury. Unfortunately who knows what this will now be, but not sure why SF wouldn’t just shut him down for the year at this point.

But you’re not an elite athlete that

But you’re not an elite athlete that went to Germany… I’ve battled Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis too. It’s brutal.

Yes, and assuming that's the general outlook in the FF community, he could return great value next season after essentially "resting" this year.
If presumed "healthy" at the start of next season, he won't escape the 1st round in redraft. If "unhealthy," no thanks. I get it, zig when they zag, zag when they zig, that's where value comes from but many times the contrarian play is also the incorrect play.

I see that now. That does not look good. It takes a lot for a knee to be that unstable running in a straight line.

Not sure what you're getting at here but my comment about not seeing it was regarding the knee on the prior play. It didn't look like it took any ill effect and he didn't seem bothered by it when he got up. I did say that any form of tendonitis is brutal, elite athlete or not. Mine is elbow and it can stab just lifting up a cup of coffee wrong.

What I am getting at is a serious bout of tendonitis is brutal. Especially in the ankles and even the lower extremities. Everything hangs together… if you have Achilles issues in both ankles then it’s likely going to translate elsewhere as other joints and tendons try to compensate. Idc how elite of an athlete you are. Physics and physiology and frankly age carry the day. It really can mess you up. Been beating this drum since August. Reminds me sadly a lot of Gurley’s decline.

Ok yes, that is what I've been saying. Wouldn't surprise me if this is what happened to CMc

From the play I saw it sure seemed like the left Achilles shot up his calf, but I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn last night

Glad I didn't trade Bowers (TE premium), Charbonnet, and my 1st for CMC!!! Sometimes you gotta decline offers and it works out.

#49ers coach Kyle Shanahan tells reporters that RB Christian McCaffrey suffered a PCL injury that could end his season.

Just a nightmare of a season.

Tom Pelissero
And so it appears a frustrating season for #49ers star Christian McCaffrey ends like this:

4 games. 348 yards from scrimmage. 0 touchdowns. 2 significant injuries.

He’s due $16.2 million in 2025, when he’ll be 29 years old.
