RB D’Andre Swift, CHI (2 Viewers)

Schefter and Rapaport both reporting Swift will play, but in a limited role. Lovely.

With byes, I have to play him, but would almost rather start Rachaad White on limited touches.

Same here. My options are Eno & Hunley, both looking at reduced roles with the starting RBs coming back this week.

Managed load his last three games of 2021 and most of this year. I honestly don’t get why they think it helps the team or his health to keep rolling him out for 6-10 touches. They couldn’t get 40-50 yards production from Craig Reynolds, AND increase his prospects for a full load next week?

Don’t practice until he’s a full participant. Don’t play him until he’s able to carry a full load. Am I wrong thinking they might be mismanaging this situation?

Sitting Swift for Foreman.

Finally had my fill of the Swift Kool-Aid. Dude just cannot stand up to the NFL abuse. Be it his fault or not - he is made of glass.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports D'Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder, questionable) will be active for Week 9 against the Packers but remain in a "limited role."

"The Lions are trying to manage Swift’s snaps to get the most out of him," Schefter reported late Saturday evening. This is mostly what coach Dan Campbell said during the week. Swift did out-snap Jamaal Williams in Week 8, but Williams out-touched and out-produced him. Even on limited snaps, Swift will have RB2 upside against a Packers run defense that has been one of the league's worst. He, of course, will have downside to boot if he doesn't feel right. Williams will be the first choice at the goal line regardless.

Dude needs to find another line of work. Maybe he can work in IT or something.
I don't think his degree was in computer science or management for information systems. Maybe he could work at a helpdesk however and triage all calls to someone that can fix a computer problem.
That's a good suggestion. Maybe even a call center.
Helpdesk and call center are synonymous, but yes, perhaps he is more suited for that line of work. I know we're being silly, but with some players you are always going to worry about something keeping them out or limited. Maybe someday that will all disappear and he becomes durable like Jimmy Brown (never missed a game in 9 years).

College Major: Mass Communications

The mass communication career field encompasses writing, editing, broadcast, online media, and public relations.

He could leverage his UGA/NFL connections and be a content manager for athletes social media platforms.

NGL little worried about him getting carpal tunnel syndrome tho.

D'Andre Swift rushed two times for 10 yards in the Lions' Week 9 win over the Packers, adding three receptions for 40 additional yards.

As feared, Swift remained a limited, snap-counted player, disappearing for quarters at a time and notching only one more touch than Justin Jackson. It's a testament to his unique play-making ability that he got halfway to the century mark on only five touches but as has been the case all season, Swift was yanked off the field at the goal line, even after he set the Lions up there with a 12-yard reception in the second quarter. With coach Dan Campbell strongly hinting Swift's reps will be monitored for the foreseeable future, he is looking like more of a FLEX than RB2 for the fantasy regular season stretch run. The Bears are at least a plus Week 10 matchup.

I'm thinking here..

Lions RBs' Week 9 snap counts and routes run:
  • Jamaal Williams 38 (8)
  • Justin Jackson 13 (5)
  • D'Andre Swift 10 (7)

Swift finished with 5 touches and totaled 50 yards.

Kind of sad when you’re not disappointed to get 8 PPR points from him.
Just short of the goal line on one catch. The TD would have helped. Of course, they took him out and ran Willaims. Didn't get in, so of course the TD goes to some guy I never heard of on a 1/2 yard catch. Started Swift and Williams due to byes :wall:

Yep, was watching that and in a similar position. Some TE from the practice squad they elevated this week after trading Hock.

Speaking Monday, Dan Campbell told reporters that the Lions were hopeful they can give RB D'Andre Swift "a little bit more this week."

Fantasy managers will be hoping for more than just a little bit more, considering that Swift played on just 16% of snaps with Jamaal Williams at 61% and Justin Jackson at 21%. Swift appears to be some distance from full health, although Campbell did note that the running back did not suffer a setback against the Packers. Swift will be a high-risk RB2 option against the Bears.

D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Swift will likely have his practice reps limited the rest of the way, so there is no reason to be concerned about his status as of now. Coach Dan Campbell expressed hope Swift would do "a little bit more this week," but he will remain a risky fantasy bet until we see him return to a full workload.

Maybe I missed it, but I wouldn't mind seeing more 2 back formations like I saw Dallas doing with Pollard/Zeke. JW would play the Zeke role behind center and Swift would be Tony split out. Outside of AMSB, Lions don't have a lot of healthy options at receiver.

#5 overall pick went Kupp, Chubb, Swift. Now Swift cannot even crack my lineups. And I'm a 60+ years Lions fan lol.

Learn to not take these easily injured players. Cannot even trade him. Perhaps he'll keep trending up so Campbell will get him more and he'll be able to be started again. Yeesh!

Just moved him for Aiyuk and G Everett.

Was just offered Najee Harris and a third for him.

D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) practiced again on Thursday.

Swift will likely maintain his "limited" tag from Wednesday, but he is fully on track to suit up after surviving his five touches in Week 9. Coach Dan Campbell, after strongly suggesting Swift would be snap counted last week, has now said he wants to get him more work against the Bears. Even 10 touches would make Swift a plus FLEX in a potential shootout with the Bears.
