RB D’Andre Swift, CHI (2 Viewers)

Got him in the line-up today with a strange feeling of confidence. I think he gets at least the same number of touches as last week and maybe more since DET can use his homerun ability in what figures to be a shootout. And we all know he's a top 10 (top 5ish?) RB with ~20 touches.

D'Andre Swift (ankle) is not on the Lions' injury report on Wednesday.

Swift was listed with the ankle issue last week but didn't even make an appearance on Detroit's first injury report heading into Week 15. He was off the injury report entirely before Week 13 and went on to total 111 yards on a team-high, 18 touches. Last week, that number plummeted to nine touches. If the trend holds true for this week, Swift could be in line for a larger role once again. Fantasy managers will still be taking a risk if they play him, but Swift's upside on every touch is game-changing.

Seems like Swift is the odd man odd in term of touches now. Don`t know if he is in the doghouse or what. Williams gets the goal line and bulk, now the are using Justin Jackson more and more as well.

with the playoffs unlikely, they want him healthy for next year.

Playoffs are in reach - they want him healthy for this year, which is likely a big part of why they are limiting his touches.

D'Andre Swift rushed eight times for 52 yards in the Lions’ Week 15 win over the Jets, adding five receptions for an additional 23 yards.

The up and down usage/production rollercoaster of Swift continued in Week 15. The Lions made it a point to get him involved with a total of 17 opportunities. Swift’s 75 yards from scrimmage were solid against a stout Jets’ defense. If he can get the same volume in Week 16, he’s worth a start.

(fantasypros) D'Andre Swift rushed eight times for 52 yards and caught five of his nine targets for 23 yards in Detroit's 20-17 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Swift once again took a backseat to Jamaal Williams in terms of carries, but he did get an impressive nine targets. Despite this, Swift struggled to produce in fantasy once again as he continues his disappointing season. Going into next week, Swift once again profiles as a risky RB3 play against the Panthers.

solid candidate for least valuable player in FF
As he assuredly goes for 8 receptions, 150 yards and 2 TDs tomorrow to stick it to us again.

been awhile since he’s been a playmaker.

broke a tackle after catching a pass v Miami WK 8. broke 2 tackles on Thanksgiving (5-19); grand total of 3 broken tackles since Week 1.

last year he had 17 broken tackles.

I think he runs to protect his shoulder - you watch his 2022 film and he’s just not even the same player. he has the worst vision, constantly bouncing outside (even when a a pulling OL has the defender teed up.)

IDK what to say about the pass catching role. sometimes his decision making has been incredibly bad. I get why Ben Johnson stopped trying to scheme him into space. he’ll run halfway across the field to find defenders.

he was much more north-south while still being very elusive his first two years. this season he played like a guy who didn’t trust his own body. he’s got the frame to take on tacklers when needed. he screwed us out of so many first downs this year.

I have never seen a back refuse to follow his blocking like Swift 2022. it’s inexplicable.

they really wanted him to be THE guy. the inability to stay healthy has been an every year thing for him. hoping the Lions move on. overuse him in 2023 & take the comp pick when he walks.

Good stuff. When Swift said several weeks ago that he wouldn’t be right all year, he seems to have used that as a crutch so to speak. Most RBs would just plow through and play with it.

Can the overuse start tomorrow please ? :-)

As long as one goes 80 for 6 I’m good.
Not much choice for me with Pollard out and now a healthy Harris in NE making Stevenson more iffy.

Here we go again... who's in and who's out
My most difficult call of the week and was Swift or Najee.

Pro's for Swift for me is he has a better matchup-highest team total in Vegas, he got most of the snaps last week(realize Jamaal got dinged) and finally Justin Jackson not playing which is a shame he is even part of the equation. Con's against was I already got ASB in the lineup, Najee gets more pure volume and goal line touches and in this particular league in the MNF game last year that last run by Najee delivered me a long sought championship and I figure I got a SNF game to capture that same magic.

Sorry to inform you, because I'm rarely correct in these type of calls, I went with Swift.

D'Andre Swift rushed 11 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' Week 17 win over the Bears, adding four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.

Justin Jackson was sidelined with a hip issue in this game, paving the way for Swift to get some extra run on passing downs. Craig Reynolds picked up a few snaps in his absence but was ultimately held without a touch. Jamaal Williams still out-touched him 23-15, but this goes down as a massive win for Swift, who had only earned 15 touches in two games before Week 17. Facing a weak Green Bay run defense next week, Swift will sit on the RB2/3 border.

I hate when I’m (almost) right and it’s on my bench.

I’m always wrong about the Lions RBs lol
Same. Timing has been everything with Swift.

MCDC had a hilarious quote on D'Andre postgame.

D'Andre Swift rushed six times for 25 yards in the Lions' Week 18 win over the Packers, adding 61 yards on seven catches.

The dynamic third-year back managed to score eight touchdowns on just 147 touches this season while his snap rate was managed, playing most of the year in a three-headed timeshare in conjunction with Jamaal Williams and Justin Jackson. Swift has missed at least three games due to injury in each of his three NFL seasons but is one of the most electric running backs in the league when on the field. His 2022 season ends with 542 yards on 99 carries, 389 yards on 39 catches, and eight combined touchdowns. Swift is sure to be drafted as an RB1 in the coming offseason's fantasy drafts considering Jamaal Williams is an unrestricted free agent heading into 2023 and the pure talent he possesses.

He's going to be a very tough guy to rank this off-season. Talent is off the charts, but playing for a coaching staff that doesn't trust him enough to stay healthy. Maybe Ekeler-lite is the best one can hope, although with much less volume.

Can keep two of three in standard. Swift Henry Pollard.

I like Swift a lot more in PPR than in standard.

Will be interesting to see what Detroit does with Jamaal, FA & the draft
