RB Jerome Ford, CLE (1 Viewer)

Where is he slotting in the rb rankings while Chubb on pup list? Top 20?
His ADP is currently RB40, second lowest of any RB expected to start for his team Week 1 (Chuba Hubbard at RB45 is the lowest).
That's insane to me. Browns have a decent o-line, should move the ball (Watson's health pending), and he's got no competition.

I'm also of the mind that Chubb ain't coming back after 4 weeks, and when he does come back it'll still be a committee. If the Browns are out of the playoff hunt later in the season I can see them shutting down Chubb entirely.
Exactly this.

I can't see any world in which Cleveland gives him (Chubb) 20+ touches this season. It would be coaching/organizational malpractice.

I think Chubb takes half the work by the end of the season. Someone is going to point out that Ford will lose half of his touches come late in the season. 2 things on this:

1. You're paying for a split touches/handcuff RB.
2. There's a world in which Chubb doesn't play at all this season. He could have a set back. Guys with ACL injuries sometimes injure other things during the recovery.

I think for a guy that you're guaranteed 4 starts out of--Ford is an absolute STEAL.
Insane value. Targeting in every league. The perfect zero RB target.

CLE will probably pass more too this year which plays to Ford's strengths as well.

I'll worry about when Chubb gets back after week 4. Hoping Ford can help me in the flex the first part of the season. If Chubb does come back, I trust that I have managed the wire to grow another RB.

Agree completely. I’m taking him “early” if one of my targets isn’t on the board. You can get him and Chubb later and lock up the Clev backfield. Then you can use Chubb’s spot on another rookie RB while he’s on PUP.

I've thought Ford was undervalued all offseason and am overweight on him.

A healthier OL combined with a new spread offense that I think will help him more than a Nick Chubb designed offense will certainly benefit (and hurt the likes of K Hunt/D Foreman). I'm ready for it. FBG has him RB16 this week between King Henry and Joe Mixon. Not bad for a double-digit pick. Giddy up!

How are we feeling about Ford this week?

The emergence of D. Foreman is a tad disturbing. Conditions were wet last week, wondering if that had anything to do with it.

CLE should be able to run quite a bit against the NYG run D. Could see quite a bit of Foreman if CLE gets the lead which could reduce the need for Watson to throw to Ford out of the backfield.

I actually own both, but right now leaning towards starting Ford in a game that should give CLE a lot of offensive opportunities. Always a chance the more explosive Ford rips off some long runs and a TD.

I was also disturbed a little bit about Foreman last week. But I also think they believe(d) in Pierre Strong at least a little bit and if I have the timeline correct, Strong got injured early in the game and then Foreman came in more than expected as a result. In my eyes Ford is the obvious playmaker of the group but honestly not sure Watson is worth his weight in poop. The offense in general suffers because of it. Nevertheless I like Ford a lot and both him and Foreman are probably decent starts this week but I'd give the edge to Ford based on passing work and big play ability. Foreman likely goal line carries. Starting Ford with confidence but tempered expectations.

I think Foreman actually got the first carries before Strong even got hurt.

Would be a bit of a shocking turn of events if this continues with Foreman. I thought he was left for dead with a neck injury. Plus, he's new to the team while Ford has been with the program. Odd.

Never seen a RB who so often doesn’t take advantage of great matchups against vulnerable run defenses. Never, ever trusting him again. Can’t wait to drop him.
