Together we can all be better. Let's win big on this guy!! He has the tools to be a 3 down grinder, not necessarily elite speed but very physical with a bag of tricks to pair with it.

He has decent speed; sure had a lot of long TDs last year where he was outrunning everybody else. Not elite speed, but fast enough.

The team drafts him for the long term. We aren't debating his talent or long term dynasty value. I'm with you on that.
I'm just suggesting some tempered expectations when he comes back. He likely will be eased in/limited touches for the first few games back too. This is pretty common. Then add to it the offense stinks.
Like I said, I loved his talent coming out but it might take him some time to produce like a top fantasy RB.

agreed. Carolina has been a laughing stock and the switch to Dalton has energized the team. Brooks can be a huge addition down the stretch (and of course great keeper) if you can buy low from an owner that cant afford to wait.
Dave Canales told reporters that Jonathon Brooks (knee) is “really close” to coming off of the reserve/NFI list.

10 months is still a fairly short timeline. I still expect a bit of a slow start for him as he gets up to speed in his first few games. Long term dynasty he was likely a bargain compared to if he never had his ACL injury but I'm proceeding with caution once he is back. I doubt the coaches will give him a big workload either.

As a Hubbard owner I hope you're right.
I must say I have zero sense on when it's possible that this situation reaches a 50/50 timeshare this year...if at all.
The lifespan of coaches isn't very long these days. Especially in Carolina.
If the staff thinks Brooks is better and gives them a better chance of winning, he is going to play.

If Hubbard has another performance like last week I think the coaches will be just fine keeping him heavily involved. He looks really good and he looked quite good at the end of last season as well.

Perhaps, but Hubbard looked good last week in their only win. That gives him a stay from execution IMO.
There is no doubt they will ease him in. But if Brooks can do things Hubbard can't, things might change.

Not sold that Hubbard is going to be a huge threat once Brooks is healthy and had some time to get up to speed. They drafted Brooks to be their guy moving forward, and they're going to want to see what they have. They've known what they have in Hubbard for years, and invested a second round pick in their RB of the future. Only questions I have are: when will Brooks be ready to roll, and will the Panthers be willing to give him a heavy load in a non-competitive season?
If Hubbard performs like a star against a tougher team, I can see a route, but I think last week may just be a special case.

Don't own Brooks anywhere in Dynasty. His rookie value went from 1.8/1.12 mid may to around 1.4, 1.5ish in June. At least that's what I saw.
If I did own him though I'd be praying that carolina doesn't play him this year. 10 months is not enough time to get that leg right . It just isn't.
But they will play him early and probably ruin him bc that's what Sargent Tepper and the Lowly Panther Band likes to do. Ruin players.

Obviously every ACL injury is different, but it’s worth mentioning there’s precedent for this timeline. Breece Hall came back after 10-11 months and looked like his old self (even if the jets being bad was limiting his output).

You just don't know. The team seems optimistic he's ready to play so the best you can do is trust them. There just isn't much need to give him a stack of useful work if other guys on the team are performing, which right now they are.

You could be right but there is the scenario where it ends up a time share. Almost every backfield is going to a timeshare these days. So many RBs are getting injured they can't just roll with 1 feature back.
Hubbards last 2 games have been very good from a rushing perspective. He's also been good in the passing game catching 9 of 10 passes for 70 yards and a TD.
Unless they trade Hubbard I don't see him going anywhere this year. 6.4ypc and 5.4ypc the last 2 games in 31 carries.
As for the draft it doesn't really matter for these teams anymore. They want multiple RBs.

I like Brooks, I think he is a great talent. He's also coming of a significant injury than many RBs said it took them until year 2 after their injury to be mentally ready and feel like the were back 100%. Some don't come back as strong (Javonte Williams so far).
Hubbard has done it for 2 years. Brooks hasn't done anything yet. Do I hope Brooks ends up the lead back - yes but I'm also reserved to say it might not be there year. Keep expectations realistic and if Brooks comes back and smashes then he exceeds expectations. I don't think the expectations are that he comes back and saves CAR and saves your fantasy team this year.

Remember that Carolina also has 21 days to really activate him once they get through the first activation. So I personally don't expect him until week 7

Ur right on the timelines, but rush him back for what? An improvement in wins this year? Rather keep him under wraps and ready to go

I can totally see this as a possibility. Obviously if he comes back and suffers another injury or setback things we'd look back and admonish the decision. But, I don't think they hold back a healthy Brooks from getting game reps. The team hasn't been incredibly chatty about the recovery process, but I assume once he is able to start practicing we'll learn pretty quick if they'll be protective or not.
Wish we knew either way, but luckily I assume most people have the ability to stash him on IR (not me, I moved Pacheco there before last week on speculation that this team was awful to potentially drop Brooks).

Brooks must first return to practice and then they’ll likely take the full 21 day window to get him up to speed and evaluate before potentially being activated.

Haven’t heard it discussed as a possibility but any chance they trade Hubbard? I get that running backs don’t tend to fetch much value but will his value ever be higher? Seems like it might make some sense for a team that’s not winning any time soon and could use draft capital.

I don't see why they would trade him. Teams need more than 1 back and Hubbard is a good back. CAR likes Hubbard and I expect him to continue to be the lead back at least for the next little while.
Hubbard has been playing great as well and he's still young. They don't have to rush Brooks back and can ease him in.
If Hubbard keeps playing this well I would think he keeps the lead role for this season.

Brooks is and always will be a 2025 play once Hubbard is gone but as for this year, Hubbard seriously has to faceplant or obtain injury in order to even cede 50/50

The thought is that Brooks is a better talent which is why they drafted him when they did. If Brooks is more talented and makes the team better he'll play regardless of what Hubbard has done to date. He won't eliminate Hubbard but they drafted Brooks for a reason. It's about production at the end of the day.

Yes, a chance.
His contract is up after this year and they got a lot of needs and they drafted his replacement.
Just a matter of if they can get enough to make it worth their while. My guess is they can’t, but it’s possible.
Obviously the RB they want to trade us Sanders but they’d have to pay someone to take him or eat salary.

The thought for Gibbs was that he was a better talent than Monty. But Monty isn't going anywhere. Even though Gibbs is talented that doesn't mean Monty is expendable. Same with Hubbard.
Hubbard is a lot better RB than people give him credit. Guy has been balling out.
I like Brooks but he hasn't proven anything in the NFL yet. Could be be great? Sure. He could also start slow due to his ACL recovery and take time getting up to speed in the NFL. Some rookies take time.
Hubbard is the RB8 on the season and has a nearly 6ypc. 2 rushing and 1 receiving TD so far and nearly 500 total yards.
