RB Kendre Miller, NO (1 Viewer)

Then today I saw a FBG staffer say he was out for the year?

Huh. Who said that and where? I thought it was Dec. 8th. Maybe they were talking redraft and for all intents and purposes.
https://www.footballguys.com/article/2024-roundtable-week11-late-week-replacement-picks It was Hindrey in the premptive pickup section. He said it as a matter of fact and nobody corrected him (it was a staff round table discussion)

Thank you very much. I think he’s incorrect. I specifically read at least two articles where he can come back Dec. 8th (Wk 14). Not that Hindery is wrong in that you can’t really count on him for anything unless Kamara gets injured, but he can come back.

"It was described as a minor injury, expected to sideline him for a week or two. But this report from LouisianaSports.Net’s Ross Jackson says Allen “had a lot to do with” the decision to sideline Miller on injured reserve again. Now the running back has to miss four games before he’ll be eligible to return. The soonest he can play again is Week 14’s matchup with the New York Giants."

Yeah that is what I have read as well. I cant even believe I am considering picking up Miller a couple weeks before he comes off the IR to back up Kamara but I am. Drafting jefferson, aj brown, nabers, and olave as my first 4 wrs came at a price. Add in mcbride and my rbs are very very thin. but unless I hear differently that is my plan.

Dan Hindery is an excellent dynasty guy. Perhaps he’s correct and the other reporting is wrong? I don’t know. I think that Miller can come back. It was covered in detail in one of the articles I read. Somebody was rhetorically asking about the rules for doing that twice in one year and said it was okay to do that. Huh. Before you pick him up, be sure to scan some more articles.

He 100% can return. The day he went on IR this was asked and multiple Saints beat writers all confirmed he could return.

Every team has 8 return from IR designations to hand out each year and a max of two of those 8 can be used on a single player.

He NEVER plays, why is there continued discussion. He's soft and he's terrible, let it go people.
Oh I dont know...maybe some of us has a best and borderline nearly only "startable" runningback who is older than Methuseleh and getting way way too many touches dealing with multiple injuries already. I get that he would be the last rb on the waiver wire before you picked him up but everybodys situation is different. Seems odd your even here responding given your last wish after you rubbed the Geni's bottle is for the rest of us to let it go. Such a waste. It is almost as if you havent figured out how to make this situation let it goable on your end. Weird.

Well the naysayers can't make the "made of glass" claim in the D'Andre Swift thread anymore, they had to find a home somewhere.

14 team dynasty league. I dropped him and no one has picked him up.

Tells me everything I need to know.
Not sure it just doesn’t tell us, everything we need to know about your league.

He should be rostered in 12 team dynasty leagues, and he’s an obvious roster in 14 teamers.

Do you guys not have IR spots? Taxi squads? The Kamara owner should at the very least have him somewhere.

We have no IR spots and Taxi Squads are only for true rookies. I will probably grab him in 2 weeks which is half way through IR stint if still on waivers.

Not a guy I’d pay much for at this point but yeah the Kamara owner at a minimum should be rostering him just in case if he’s free, esp with the premium RBs carry in 14 team

I still don't have everything I need to know. How many on your roster not including taxi? He's a clear hold in my 12x24. Probably needs to show me a little something to make the cutdown to 19 ahead of the rookie draft.

I'm still more intrigued by him than the likes of D. Pierce, Roschon, Khalil Herbert, Vidal, Boutee, Alec Pierce, Whittington, and waiting for Jermaine Burton to grow up. Absolutely dreadful year for back-half of the roster development. Might have had higher hopes for Miller, but not much more of a disappointment than the rest of them. At least I still believe there's talent there with him.

Call me crazy, but I think he'll get an opportunity for 10 carries a game when he gets back. Obviously, all bets are off on whether he can withstand such punishment. Seems like it would make sense for the Saints not to run Kamara into the ground.

Yep, 5 plays on the field, then 5 in the blue tent.

Your comment earlier seems about "tells me everything I need to know and this one seem contraditory to me. So what you need to know is its too early to pick him up? (which I agree with btw)

You may be right but as a Kamara owner I hope not lol. Seems like the new coach is fine with giving him a shot and he surely has to be chomping at the bit to show he can stay healthy. He has to know his time in the NFL (either in NO or elsewhere) is clicking away unless he can stay on the field,

Football players play football. Barring injury, players like Kamara don't sit. I don't know where this "rest them/save them for the next year" ever came from in the fantasy world, but it's just that, a fantasy.

There's a pretty big difference between sitting Kamara and scaling back touches from near monopoly levels in a lost season, Nobody is suggesting that a healthy Kamara will or should sit.

Who else is getting the ball? Old *** Williams? Hamstrung Kendre MIller? Fumbleruski Taysom? Who?

Interim coaches have something to prove. Provided he can still carry the load, you think scaling back Kamara's touches accomplishes anything?

#Saints interim HC Darren Rizzi on Kendre Miller:

“Kendre Miller’s a talented football player. There’s no one that’s gonna sit here and ever deny that.”

“You’ve seen that when he’s been active and healthy, that he’s a guy that can produce for the team. He’s a really good change of pace back, he brings another dimension to it.”

“I have a lot of confidence in Kendre.”

“We’ve amped him up a little bit in the rehab process. We’re not just gonna throw him back in there.”

“There’s no one that’s ever gonna sit here and doubt that this guy’s a talented guy. His thing is gonna be consistency and staying healthy.”

(Rotowire) Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said Friday he expects Miller (hamstring) to come off IR in time for Sunday's game against the Giants, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Analysis: Miller had his practice window opened Wednesday, and while he may officially be listed as questionable for Sunday's road game against New York, it sounds like the second-year pro is on track to be activated from IR and retake the field. If Miller is indeed activated in time to suit up Week 14, he may get a chance to compete with Jamaal Williams for backup reps behind starter Alvin Kamara.

He’s 5’11, 200+. He’s not a change of pace back in the traditional sense. He’s a hard downhill runner with breakaway speed. That’s what makes him so compelling.

This could turn out to be a boon for Kendre owners if he can stay healthy because he has more juice than anybody on that roster and that includes Kamara. He doesn’t have Kamara’s experience or spacing in the passing game and blitz pickup, but as a runner he’s probably the best they have (if we’re defining it as explosion, quicks, and then long speed).

Will they give him opportinties to score? It's the only question I have.

Yeah, that I don’t know and you’d have to ask Rizzi if they’ll feed him. It’s a winnable game and the Giants are susceptible on the ground. But I’m writing for dynasty purposes, not Week 14. If you’re counting on Kendre for Week 14, you’re as hurting as I am with injuries in a large-roster dynasty league because there should be other guys available at flex in redraft. If you need an RB, well that’s a different story. Good luck with that, but I wouldn’t count on too, too much from Kendre this week. Hope he pops one, maybe, but what are the chances of that?

Leaning towards plugging him in at RB2 ahead of Spears or Vidal and hoping that he gets "unleashed" for 8 carries. It has been a miserable year.

Obviously out of the playoff hunt, but a win could be the difference between getting the other team's 1.4 vs 1.6.

Leaning towards plugging him in at RB2

Leaning towards plugging him in at RB2 maybe over Gainwell and a few other non-notables, and actually I’m in the playoff hunt. In fact, I already have a bye in a twelve-team league, but my RBs and RB depth are questionable at best. I have Breece Hall and Tyrone Tracy and a whole bunch of nothing. I’m hoping other guys check out and the guys behind them get spot starts in Weeks 16 and 17. All I can do is hope.

Go Kendre! Fire ‘em up, look impressive, and expand your role!

It would sure seem to make sense if the guy really was healthy enough to play 2-3 weeks ago. Giving him enough run to possibly perform like a 3rd round talent, in contrast to serving as the whipping boy of the previous regime would be some small feather in the cap for an interim head coach, right?

Of course, giving a newly acquired Khalil Herbert more than one carry out of the bye last week made sense to me too.

Don’t make too much sense. They’ll get you for that.

Herbert was an acquisition that will pay dividends for the Bengals when they finally give up the ghost and realize they’re out of it for good. They had the schedule to get back into it (granted that means it was tough and the other teams they were playing were playoff contenders, and therefore had better records than the Bengals did), but the Bengals weren’t quite good enough to pull it off. Lots of points scored for the other teams. They got shredded by Pittsburgh and Russ.

So Herbert has been sitting while they play themselves all of the way out of it. That might change once the year is over, but probably not enough to trust for fantasy purposes. Reload and come back next year if you have Herbert, I guess, but I would say don’t bank on Chase Brown being anything but serious 1A at the very, very least.

And I roster Herbert.

I mean, it's nice the new regime believes in Kendre but man, he's got to stay healthy for once. I don't know if he needs to hang around Tee Higgins this offseason as he does his "hamstring injury prevention" program, but he's messing up opportunity after opportunity right now. The biggest ability is availability and he has not been that the last 2 years.

Guy got ten carries today. Thirty-two yards and a touchdown.

Kendre Miller won’t be denied? More like Kendre Miller had three huge offensive linemen pushing him from the four into the end zone. Heh.

Ten-twelve carries is startable if you’re desperate.

Hmm, next week could be fun. Fantasy playoffs. Kamara might sit? Who's got the clackers to roll with our guy?
I might not have a choice if Walker is out, only other good rb I have is Chase Brown. This week I rolled the dice with Tyjae Spears and it really worked out for me. Will happily start Miller if Kamara sits.

MNF so could be tricky timing wise.... Kamara has played through alot of injuries before but it makes zero sense for him to play the next 3 weeks unless hes truly 100%
Very good point. I have both, but if Kamara tries to go as he's prone to do he's a risk to put up a stinker. It's also against GB. I might have to plug my nose and start a middling RB on Sunday in the hope I get 8 or so points, which really sucks to think about in the semi-finals after riding Kamara's greatness all season.
