RB Kendre Miller, NO (3 Viewers)

Find myself liking Miller a lot as a late sleeper. Really interesting RB5 pick.
Price check for non-SF comparable rookie picks?
Feel like he and Benson would be 2A/2B if you threw him back into the rookie draft. So....late 1st-early 2nd? I have 2 shares of him and likely wouldn't trade him for that though unless someone fell that I was really interested in.
I don't like Miller THAT much. I think he's between like Ray Davis and Marshawn Lloyd. I'd have him behind Benson and Corum for sure. 20th overall pick sounds reasonable to me. Maybe a little higher if you A) have Kamara, or B) are thin at RB. I really love this WR class though, so rookie pick wise, I'm a little stingy.

fair, that might have been a little bullish initially on my part. Now that you mention it, in a league that I have Lloyd (and not Miller) I wouldn't make that trade straight up.

Let's hope he gets his shot to be the 1a this year
I don’t think he’ll be as successful early in the year simply because they’re transitioning to the wide zone scheme, for which (I’m guessing) Kamara is a better fit. The OL seems to be working hard on gelling in that scheme so, assuming he gets the hang of it, Kendre will have his opportunities as the season progresses.

His situation/talent is fairly similar to Benson so I don't think it's crazy but I'd have Miller as the clear cut rookie RB3 and well ahead of the rest of the pack.

You have Brooks as RB1 as I recall. So who is RB2...can't tell if you mean Benson from the above.

Yes sir, good recall. Brooks and Benson were head and shoulder above the rest of this class to me. Will it play out like that? Maybe not, but it's how I got them now.

Miller did have a good game in the final week so there is hope

Brooks and the whole Car thing is an avoid to me so I actually have Benson as RB1 / then I would take Miller or Wright in a pick em / Corem shortly behind

A team that likes to run the ball with no real competition ahead of him and they traded up to get him is an avoid for fantasy? rachaad white ate in this system just last year, Brooks is gonna be good in fantasy even if the team stinks.

I'd take Brooks, Benson, Wright, Lloyd and Corum over Miller.
I wouldn't take Lloyd or Corum over him, but I agree with the other three.
Only Brooks and Benson ahead for me.

Miller was a solid prospect coming into the league. He just needs opportunity and some luck with health.
I believe Jaylen Wright is better than Miller and is at least right there with him in value.

I'll adjust, at Brooks current price... yes he is an avoid at mid 1st while I can get Benson and Wright later. However if Brooks falls or is offered to me ofcourse I will bite

16 team dynasty and I have Kamara. Was offered Miller for 1.14 but I am balking at that price.

Sounds like that is pretty fair value.

I don't think having Kamara has anything to do with deciding on this. I think it's too high a price regardless
wouldn't you need to know if it was superflex or not? in not superflex seems like a steal, in superflex seems about fair value

I think that’s a fair price for Kendre. How many lower tier/rookie RB’s are set for a 2025 better situation than him?

I am not high on Miller so type of league doesn't matter to me. I wouldn't give up a first rounder for him.

I'm a little confused by your phrasing because I'm reading this as you were offered Miller for 1.14, you are balking at that ask but at the same time saying it sounds fair?

All I can say is in a non-SF format if he was dropped in the rookie class he'd be in a tier of players encompassing 7-11, probably more at the back end of that tier with a group of WR's but if RB need is present I'd slot him as high as 8th.

I like Miller as a flier, but is Miller set for a good 2025 situation? Nothing stopping NO from drafting someone as high or higher than Miller was.

14th rookie pick seems a bit rich to me.

I Agree, however, if you do think he takes over the starting role where hes at, 14th overall in a rookie draft is a bargain. so its all a matter of perspective

You could really make that argument about nearly any running back, though. Did anyone really see the Seahawks taking Charbonnet a few years ago in the second round with KW3 there? That’s about the range Trey Benson would go in a rookie draft, and he could just as easily be replaced by Arizona next year if he doesn’t light the world on fire.

And we have at least seen flashes with Kendre. The last game he played in(most work he had all season which coincided with him being fully healthy) he went 13/73/1.

Sorry.

I was offered Miller for my 1.14 which I was balking at. After reading this thread though, it seems like it is about fair value.

16 team 1 QB BTW

Thanks for clarification and I'd accept that for sure.

I probably would too. if you feel he becomes the starter early this year maybe you hold. but I truly think his time (if it comes) will be at the start of next year which makes that deal a bit iffy.

but his value is highly speculative at this point. due to health we dont truly know how good this kid can be.

Dennis Allen on Kendre Miller: "I know he's talented, but I don't know if he can learn the system. I don't know if can pick up the system because I haven't seen him out there." #Saints

For context: Kendre pulled his hamstring on Day 1 of camp. There was clear frustration expressed at that point. The Saints changed offenses this season and this was an important offseason for everyone to pick that up. Him not being able to do that makes things complicated.

Anyone know what Dennis Allen is doing? Don't understand this public airing of this. Seems like coach has it out for him which doesn't seem to look too good for his prospects.

He’s kind of just staring a fact.

New system. Guy can’t learn it because he can’t play or practice.

I say this as a big Kendre Miller fan from college.

i get that part, just seems doing so publicly is pretty lame.

It is a little odd, considering what normal coachspeak sounds like, you know, "Kendre is a tough kid, he's gonna get healthy and when he does there is no doubt in my mind he can learn this system. Next question."

Sounds to me, he thinks or is not so subtly hinting, Kendre can/should play through the injury. Questioning his toughness a bit.

Agree to an extent, but Miller has been injured ever since he came into the league. Hell, I think he was even injured when he got drafted. Was hurt essentially all last off-season and only played in a couple games because-you guessed it-injury. And now it’s the same story all over again this year. Allen is simply frustrated like his dynasty managers(myself included). I think he’s pretty talented but it’s beginning to feel like it’s just not going to happen for him.

Yep or that Miller doesn't put in the work to take care of himself. No matter what, this is like the dynasty vultures circling over Kendre's head.

From my understanding of how people operate, Dennis Allen hates Kendre Miller. I don't know if he's coaching him hard because he sees potential or if he just hates him, but he is obviously frustrated and sometimes coaches get the benefit of being brutally honest.

He called him soft. It could be a motivational ploy, but I doubt it. He doesn't need Kendre, he's got Kamara and Williams. He just wants this guy to contribute and it pisses him off that he hasn't, especially if you're in a position where you're on the hot seat. I bet you'd start getting real honest about where the blame lies. If he could pick again in the 3rd Round last year, he would not draft Kendre again, lol! But he's got what he's got now.

With that said, I don't think he gets cut. If Kamara or Williams themselves get hurt, they'll be scrambling for a backup RB as good as Kendre Miller. But right now, he hates him and he doesn't need him. But if he needed to start him, he would love him. That's just how people work. The doghouse isn't a fun place to be, but as long as you behave things can change quickly. Being in the doghouse usually ends in one of two ways, right?

IMO In addition to a direct message to Miller, this is also an indirect message to the other guys on the roster.
