oh, see, i think it's pretty funny but not hilarious. much of it depends on the viewers affection for Broderick. my favorite scene is a little one with Brando and Broderick. He's walking Clark out of his social club when he spies a picture on the wall. It's something like

Broderick: Is that a picture of Benito Mussolini?

Brando: Well, it ain't Tony Bennett...

It's the timing of the lines that cracks me up.

I especially liked the music and cinematography ... the critics consensus is spot on: there wasn't much to the story but that didn't bother me much. It was a fairly simple concept with a fairly "no duh twist" at the end but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

rewatched Diva for the millionth time. Still great- even though it had a different set of subtitles with slightly different translations... I've seen it enough to have the translations quasi-memorized. and the Diva's acting and French abilities are still laughably bad, but still don't ruin the fun watch.

Been flying a bunch recently. Watched Life Itself and The Wrecking Crew. Both are good documentaries about really interesting people and times. Highly recommend. Also watched The Wolfpack. People love it because it's such a bizarre and unique story but overall I didn't like the feel of it.

I thought it was just dull with a weak finish. Not terrible, but definitely not good.

I liked it but I think it could have been better. I was hoping for a "The Verdict" type quality production but this was far from that good.

It was a little bit of a strange cast. As with any "Boston based" film you end up with a handful of actors going in and out of bad New England accents.

Mark Ruffalo and Stanley Tucci were really good.

There is a scene where Len Cariou shows up on screen and my wife and I immediately looked at one another and said "ugh....not this guy".

Good subject matter for a movie. Satisfying movie. That's all.

Been working on a list my my favorite movies of the decade so far, and in doing so made a fairly long list of ones that I was meaning to watch and didn't get around to. Started with this. Not 100% sure what I just watched, but I know I didn't like it. Seemed to appear on a lot of year end lists, but I thought it went nowhere I and I didn't care about the people and their relationships. Not quite sure what people saw in it besides the cool ### car. 4/10.

Sisters

Not much of a plot, it was mostly just a way for Fey and Poehler to riff. A lot of one-liners, most of which were accurate and funny. It seems as if they went out of their way to give Fey the most profane lines because she dropped numerous MF-bombs and every slang word for ######.

All the things you hear about the chemistry between those two is very true. They are in complete synch, and deliver each other's punchlines with perfect timing.
