Once again, the Footballguys staff has been kind enough to invite the message board to beat them at their own game. Let's show them why Joe's right when he says these boards are the best in the business.

Just like last year, 12 people from the message board will face 12 staff members in two leagues. As the captain of this team, I'll be selecting 11 people, and I will be basing my decision on your contributions to the message board.

If you're interested, please link to one or more threads where you think you added some real value, between the Shark Pool, Assistant Coach's Forum, Free For All, Test Forum, or really anywhere on this board. If you don't have any good posts so far, make one today and link it. If you haven't made a good post in years, well, you're probably already on the staff team.

So if you think you can lay down the wood on Wood, make Maurile tremble, or expose fake mod as a fraud, show me what you've got. QB squeeze notwithstanding, we're undefeated, and I intend for it to stay that way.

The highest finished from the message board team, Cecil Lammey (fka rebel34), would have been named the captain, but he defected to the staff side. As the second place finisher from last year, and highest remaining message board member, the staff was kind enough to allow me to be captain this year in his stead.

Last year people put in "resumes", which was a little much. This year I'm just looking for good posters, whether it's in the FFA, the Shark Pool, the ACF, whatever. If this is nothing but a thread with a lot of links to good discussions, then it's a good thread.

 
I have long wanted to get in one of these, but unfortunately I am more of a lurker and reader than poster. :( Good luck to those that get chosen. :thumbup:

What have you done lately my friend? History is nice when you have nothing to look forward to.BF-I'd love to do this. I know you and I've had some great debates but if you need links let me know and I'll put some together.

I'd love a chance to represent the message board. We've had a few spirited debates. Here are just a few links.

A Yudkin stats thread reviewing players and VBD baseline values of 2004 to which we both contributed heavily.

Free agent wide receiver study conducted prior to 2004 season. Made incorrect conclusion about Terrell Owens’ upcoming performance.

The threads below are my favorite, but if you do a search on LHUCKS you'll find over 100 topics created by LHUCKS with a rough estimate of 2000 replies to those topics since the beginning of 2005...I'm afraid to look and see how many total posts I have this year. That being said, quantity doesn't necessarily equal value. I guess I'll leave that decision up to the peanut gallery. Good luck on picking the team this year Fred.

After agreeing with LHUCKS far too often this preseason, I would certainly like to go head to head against him with something like MB vs. Staff on the line :yes:

note--each week last year in the ACF, I had Joe pin a thread I started called "Coach's Corner", where I would answer WDIS, trade, FA, etc questions

for some reason ( I guess because Joe pinned them), there is no record of them, but I do mention them in this thread

I'd love to serve the board this year. I teach graduate level statistics and have been a fantasy geek since the days of picking up a USA Today on Mondays/Tuesdays = "I have skills". A sampling of threads I've started follow:

I'd like to be on the team. I have responded in roughly 500 Assistant Coach threads in the past four months (since the last purge on March 29), continuing a trend dating back to the beginning of the 2004 offseason where I try to help out in the lion's share of offseason ACF questions. The quality varies from one-word responses when an easy question is asked to detailed responses to more difficult questions.

I contributed to the FBG value plays and deep sleepers articles.

I try and give projections to each of the featured weekly players. I contribute to the dynasty rankings threads and discussion, including the deep sleepers thread.

I participate on the IDP boards, though I admit that I'm looking for help there as much as I help people, asking for input to fill in places where I need help... but doing it in the open helps everyone, I think. Here are a couple of examples: Each team's defensive scheme and dynasty startup rankings.

I also try to help out with some stats analysis - my sig is helpful to some in dynasties, with links to ADPs and player ages.
