1. Guilty or not, it shows bad judgment. Why put yourself any where near this type of situation? For me, "knucklehead factor" includes bad judgment because bad judgment in one area may mean bad judgment in other areas. Actually, we know he's show bad judgment re women and motorcycles.
:goodposting:
:goodposting: Surprised no one commented on this part:

The incident reportedly took place in a back hallway of Capitol City nightclub, a popular college hotspot that's located two blocks away from Georgia College & State University.
Roethlisberger just turned 28. Why is he going to college "hotspots"? I definitely think that shows bad judgment.

While he should be free to go out wherever he pleases hanging out with 20 year old girls at college bars late at night is pretty dumb and asking for trouble. That said it is odd that she supposedly was hanging out with him much of the night but did not identify Roethlisberger by name to the police. Instead she described her assailant as a white male, 6'5" tall and weighing 241 lbs, which is exactly the measurements listed on the Steelers website.

That is awesome. Maybe she mentioned the two large rings he was wearing as well.

I dunno. As a member of the Steeler faithful, I'm pretty torn up over this. After the first issue, you hope nothing comes of it, and give the guy the benefit of the doubt. After the second, you sort of have to start thinking that where there's smoke, there's fire.Yeah, he's a young, single rich guy. Yeah, there are women out there who will throw themselves at athletes then scream sexual misconduct. But it happens rarely enough that you've got to take it seriously. And it happens to the same guy twice in a year...well, pretty much never, unless it later comes out the guy's a real ####.I really, really, REALLY hope it comes out that the whole thing is clearly and most assuredly a put on, or a media grab, or a desperate plea for attention. But if it even remains just "murky" (never mind what happens if it actually has legs), I hope Pittsburgh distances themselves from B.B. in a hurry. Trade him for pennies on the dollar...whatever. As a fan, the integrity this team has typically shown and always prides itself on means a lot more to me than short term title chances. Give me the squeaky clean scrub over the entitled deviant superstar thug...if that's what he turns out to be. I'll be first in line for my Dixon jersey, and will be very proud of my 5-11 Black and Gold.
I find most of the last paragraph very difficult to believe. You want to get rid of your two-time Super Bowl champ QB in the prime of his career for pennies on the dollar because of a situation that remains "murky"? Seems a little extreme.

I saw a guy trade him in a start 2 QB dynasty league for a 3rd rounder last year because of moral concerns.Oh, and as a Steelers fan and Ohio native. IMHO, Ben is a ####. Knew guys that went to high school with him and plenty of stories from the Findley area.

I understand your sentiment, but the Steelers "integrity" is overblown. They will get rid of a player with character issues IF he isn't a key player. Look at Jeff Reed. They just gave him the transition tag, and he has had several legal incidents in the past year (getting drunk and beating up a paper towel dispenser & arrested while defending a teamates' right to piss in the street). They also gave James Harrison a HUGE contract last year, despite being arrested for domestic violence in 2008. Santonio Holmes was arrested for domestic violence in 2006, and then again in 2008 for possession of marijuana. The Steelers have this reputation of not tolerating this kind of behavior, but the truth is that they will not tolerate it FROM PLAYERS WHO AREN'T THAT IMPORTANT TO THEIR TEAM, like Cedrick Wilson (who was charged with domestic violence 2 weeks after Harrison, and he was quickly released). If one of their star players commits these acts, they are down-played and/or ignored.

Most people from Findlay are ####. I've heard a lot of stories about him as well from people that know him. Definitely full of himself to say the least.

Sexual assault can mean a lot of different things, rape being one of them. Sounds like very bad judgement or a serious character issue.
Yes, sexual assault can include something like grabbing a girl's butt. In fact, if an incident is being described as sexual assault rather than rape, it's probably something like groping or grabbing.
The article says she was treated at a hospital afterwards. If he did anything I think it was probably more than a butt grabbing.
Not necessarily. It is pretty standard procedure to have alleged victims of sexual assault go to a hospital for "evidence gathering." Photos are taken, records are made, if rape/penetration is alleged, a rape kit is conducted, etc. If she claims that he groped her, they may have taken her there to have pictures taken of any bruises.

1) He isn't married so going to bars where young hotties are and hitting on them and trying to get them in bed is no black mark on his character.

2) The question is whether or not he forced himself on her. We aren't going to figure that out here. It will be hard for the court to figure that out.

I think if I was an agent for one of these guys I would advise them to video tape the woman consenting to sex before doing anything.

Also, if she has a mark on only one of her cheeks, then it narrows it down to a Steelers player.

What do I win for my call that it would be a gold digging ho trying to extort $? Way to obvious.

According to news reports The Brick was the second bar he was at that night. The incident supposedly happened at the third bar he was at.

Best case for Roethlisberger is that he didn't really sexually assault her. In that case, you're right that it doesn't necessarily reflect poorly on his character... so we can simply think of him as an idiot. Because a 28 year old celebrity going to college nightspots to pick up college girls is the epitome of stupid. And obviously if he did assault her, then it's worse.

Maybe that is why Cleveland is having trouble competing in the AFC North? They don't have enough criminals to match up with the bad ###es in their division.

By legal standards there is no consent if you are drunk. So if you are both drunk and have consensual sex she can still claim you raped her because she was drunk. Its not right but its the law.

He may very well be an #### but you don't know the man and your opinion is based on hearsay. He's always seemed like a standup guy in interviews which is all I have to go on. These reports are troubling but he hasn't been found guilty of anything yet. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt until he is.

A couple things here...this is not the first time he is being accused of this. I still don't believe he did it
Wow, your investigation has concluded already?
The court of MOP moves quickly, we believe in swift and just punishment. We also believe women that target athletes and claim rape when the athlete didn't should be handled with the same severity as the rapists themselves.

This one says whatever took place was in a back hallway
I would have guessed that.
Yeah, but the previous one I posted said he went into the women's bathroom. That was kind of weird. Maybe it started there, she went out, he followed her. Just guessing.
Probably a case of fast, confused news reporting like we often see at the beginning of controversial stories.
I read another news report yesterday later on after my post (can't find it now) that said the police marked a few different locations within the club as crime scenes. Sounds more and more like he accosted her, she tried to get away, and he kept after her. Yeah, I'm speculating I know, but that's what fantasy football guys do -- we speculate. :goodposting:

So what you do is claim she raped you too. Offsetting penalties, replay the down.

Here's my problem when it comes to athletes...I don't think they have to beg many times to get these women into bed, and if they do they should run for cover....even a slight "I don't know I kinda have a headache and a small cramp in my lower region" that should be enough for these men to run to the nearest Craigslist or BackPage and dial up a woman they can get rid of in a couple hours. See the problem is most of these athletes view the women at the bars they are in as disposable...they aren't looking for anything long term and once the deed is done and Ben the Horse is getting ready to saddle up out of Dodge, reality sets in for these women that they are not going to be in any longterm plans and suddenly they feel stupid for allowing themsleves to be so easily taken. Do you think that Ben was just beating her up to the point where she couldn't put up a fight and had sex with him? I'll get an FFA thread going as this will venture into too much for the SP, but what exactly is the definition of rape/sexual assault? Does this woman have bruises on her face? Did she struggle at all? I realize athletes are huge and can physically out muscle a woman but usually it leaves marks. I am open minded to the idea that Ben has a problem perhaps but I also know athletes are a big target for a lot of women.

You don't know why? MJ is 46, he likes to go to college hotspots too.MJ

It was a rhetorical question. I know why he does it. I also know why it's stupid to do it, but apparently he doesn't.And I don't know when or where that MJ photo is from, but if he is going to college bars to pick up girls, he is equally stupid.

Even if this doesnt result in charges, does this being the 2nd incident make disciplinary punishment from Goodell a possibility? Could he be suspended?

Charges need to be filed. The NFL could get sued by Ben if they suspended without cause.

What is he going to suspend him for, having sex?I could have 5 women that didn't like the fact I used them as 1 night stands and all say that I sexually assaulted them. But if there are no marks, no reports till weeks or months later...what can be done? Some players leave their mark like Brady who just impregnates them all(I'm kidding PP, relax) or Travis Henry/Cromartie-better examples. Should Cromartie be suspended for fathering 6 children with 7 women or 7 children with 6 women or whatever the case is...where do you draw the line?

Pacman Jones was suspended because of multiple charges but was never convicted of anything. In your scenario nobody is accusing you of wrongdoing. Ben has been accused of wrongdoing multiple times. I believe the Commissioner has authority to suspend for conduct detrimental to the game. Ben is bringing on bad publicity for the NFL and he continues to do so.

That's all I need to hear to know this chick if lying and a horrible liar at that. To sit there and say you don't know his name when people were coming up to him all night is absurd. Than to say you don't know his name when she obviously went home and googled him and gave his exact listed height and weight is just plain stupid. Don't have to be much of a detective to figure this is a lie and she has an angle..

Mr. Belding, too.

Lots of keen investigative work here.
I explained why I knew she was lying so as to avoid someone wasting time with the kind of posts you made but I guess reading comprehension is down.
I read your whole post before posting. It wasn't worth quoting.
I know you read it but it's the understanding part that seems to have stumped you. Unless of course you can offer up a viable explanation as to how someone could go to multiple bars with Rothlisberger and have no idea who he is and when asked to describe him provide his exact height and weight as listed on NFL.com.
