cant see how anyone missed that hit(illegal hit) on quarless.. easy call for the refs and the missed it yet again.. hope assante gets fined.. would have given the pack a 1st down and kept the driver going.. any opinions?? or maybe fine is yet forthcoming

He didn't say that. It certainly was a clean helmet to helmet shot. Samuels has to hit like that because he can't tackle worth crap.

The result of the play was already a first down that kept the drive going... 3-5-GB 25 45) (Shotgun) 12-A.Rodgers pass short right to 81-A.Quarless to GB 37 for 12 yards (22-A.Samuel).

I originally felt like it was helmet-to-helmet, but after seeing it in replay, it almost looked like Quarless just wasn't prepared to get hit (although it's not like it was a bang-bang play). Not sure why Quarless didn't really try to avoid the tackle...just looked like Quarless ran head-on into Samuel...although I haven't seen it since the in-game replay, so it's not like I've analyzed the play in great detail...

I don't expect a fine.

I think Buck and Aikman broke it down about right. He was an RB at the time of the hit not a "defenseless" receiver; much like the hit on Woodhead in the game against Miami.

Except Quarless was a runner at that point, not a defenseless receiver. Runners take helmet to helmet hits all the time.
