They spent 2 third round picks at a low value position and they are still scrambling after a week 1 injury. Frustrating.Yates:
With Elijah Mitchell on IR, the 49ers worked out RBs Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman, Nate McCrary, Abram Smith, La’Mical Perine, Godwin, Igwebuike and hosted Marlon Mack on a visit.
Schefter:
49ers are signing former Texans’ RB Marlon Mack to their practice squad, per source

The OL is trash. On the Candlestick Chronicles pod, they mentioned that the Bears didn’t blitz a single time during the game and were still managing to create pressure. That’s perhaps the most alarming statistic I’ve heard about the loss this far.
Totally agree. I’ve been hoping I’ve just being missing something and these guys will be serviceable, but I have no reason the believe that will actually be true. The OL is trash.
All the local off-season chatter on sports radio focused solely on Lance and how this is a SB-winning window for the 49ers and how could they possibly trust Lance.
And I kept looking at our makeshift ragtag OL thinking, “it is?”
JimmyG would look even worse behind that line. SB-window, my booty. The failed to build a competent OL. That’s the cardinal sin of football.

Let there be light.Kittle back at practice.
No way he doesn't play Sunday

Likely both.Watching a replay, it looks like his ankle is either badly dislocated or completely broke.
I know you are still in the denial stage of grief, but he’s going to get killed behind this line. What we have now is a little better version of last year's 49ers.
If Jimmy stays healthy, we will be fine.

Hard to imagine, if he is out the rest of year, what happens now. You have a great team and now a rookie qb that hasn't played a single meaningful game in 2 years coming off a college career with little experience.
I think he's suggesting that this is a pretty big setback for Lance if this injury is bad.Hard to imagine, if he is out the rest of year, what happens now. Say what now?
Not sure what the rest of the season holds, but he looks pretty good to me. The big question will be what is Lance’s future if JG looks good this year.I know you are still in the denial stage of grief, but he’s going to get killed behind this line. What we have now is a little better version of last year's 49ers.

Kyle Shanahan says QB Trey Lance broke his ankle and will have surgery to repair it tomorrow.
