Just for the record:
Most Playoff Wins Since 2019:
1. Chiefs, 8
2. 49ers, 6
3. Bengals, 5
3. Rams, 5
Kyle Shanahan winning 6 playoff games and making it to 3 NFCCGs with two different quarterbacks is a testament to the roster/talent, coaching and culture in San Francisco. You can deny it all you want, but its still fact.
For anyone who thinks Shanahan isn't elite should probably take off the hater goggles and look at the facts. Yeah, he hasn't won a SB, but Andy Reid didn't win a SB until his 15th postseason appearance, and he needed a generational QB to finally get it done. Fourteen times he went to the playoffs and got bounced before he got Mahomes.
In 2017, Shanahan took over a team that finished 2-14 the year before. In 2019, the 49ers were in the Super Bowl. Since then, the only time he didn't at least make the conference championship was when 75% of the roster was on IR in 2020. And he gave Jimmy G a resume we all know hes not worthy of. That in itself is an accomplishment.
Him and Lynch built this roster from top to bottom, there's not a single player left from when they took over. Not one. That's a 100% turnover rate. Not many current coaches can build a roster from scratch and be in a SB in 2 seasons.
Has he made questionable decisions in big games? Yep. You can list every bad play call or decision he's made in his career, but it won't take away the fact they he turned a terrible team into a powerhouse contender way faster than anyone imagined, and hes nowhere near done yet.
There's not many coaches I'd rather have. I could name one for sure, and I'm not sure there's another.
