FiredK Jake Moody has made 11 of his last 21 field goal attempts in the regular season.
They also traded 3 1st Round picks to move up to draft Trey Lance.Don't forget KS and crew wasted a 3rd round pick on a kicker...this kicker

Purdy pick saved them. Otherwise they would be the laughing stock right now. They also traded 3 1st Round picks to move up to draft Trey Lance.Don't forget KS and crew wasted a 3rd round pick on a kicker...this kicker
Yea they have quite the record...wonder why we have no depth and no youth?

They just refuse to admit a 3rd rounder for a kicker was a mistake. I mean wtf!!!Moody is 12/23 since week 10 last year on all FGs. Has to be cut.
Even the national play-by-play guy - who is probably not as up to date with the Moody drama as the fan base is - said something like, "we're all holding our breath" when Moody went out for that last PAT.They just refuse to admit a 3rd rounder for a kicker was a mistake. I was with a group of buddies, most of them had the under, I was just rooting for SF. After the TD we all went nuts bc they basically sealed the game and avoided OT. Then we all realized they still had to make the extra point. Should be more or less a guarantee, yet we were all terrified!
If necessary, I think Mac Jones could guide them to a win over the Saints. But ideally that won't be needed.Kittle to miss a few weeks and....
Oh boy
Kyle Shanahan: #49ers QB Brock Purdy dealing with injuries to left shoulder and toe. He said the toe injury is more serious and is uncertain about his availability for Sunday at New Orleans.

Dicker is one good kicker.Finally!!!
The #49ers are moving on from kicker Jake Moody. After continued struggles, the former 3rd-round pick is reportedly being waived.
How long before he's a Charger?
It was tongue-in-cheek because of how Harbaugh always gushes about Moody.Dicker is one good kicker. Finally!!!

Koo might be available soon.

With Jake Moody gone, #49ers fans… who would you want SF to sign?

Matt McCrane
Justin Tucker (suspended)
"Money" is strong, but I would be 0% surprised if he resurfaces in a year or two and is great and has a long career. Kickers almost always struggle for fairly long time - which is why you should never draft one, let alone early, but that's a separate issue.I’m a little sad about it because he’s clearly a talented kid who got into his own head after sustaining the high ankle sprain last year.
Prior to that he was money.
Also, I’d drafted him in 2 leagues as a rookie so I have a soft spot for him. But it’s probably best for the Niners, and I have Aubrey starting anyway, so…

Fair. But he was having a good year to that point."Money" is strong
He might, but Roberto Aguayo never recovered after being picked in the 2nd round by Tampa Bay...maybe it's just too much pressure being drafted really high."Money" is strong, but I would be 0% surprised if he resurfaces in a year or two and is great and has a long career. I share this opinion. As for Moody, just saw this on Twitter:
I am 100% convinced this play ruined Jake Moody’s career (video)
Before: 13/14 (92.9%)
After: 11/20 (55%)

He wasn't that great his rookie year either. And he missed a kick in all three playoff games he appeared in. I think the pressure of being a "highly-drafted" kicker doomed him from the start. Should never have drafted him, and should've moved on long ago when the cracks started showing.
Janikowski is the only exception I can think of and he was just a different kind of dude than most college kickers.Fair. But he was having a good year to that point."Money" is strong

I was thinking today that when you're drafted as a kicker in the third you're kind of doomed mentally. It just must weigh on a guy to justify that kind of draft position when there's little room for error at the position and any pressure in your head and you just start missing until the yips set in. Then you can forget your career.
