Why? He has been incredibly effective.
You don't think the other candidates won't rip him apart?

He has the money...no doubt.

But He pisses off many people (some even on the right) as far as voters go.

College dropout...does things in a pretty sleazy way. I think the primaries will tear him apart some...and if not, and its against Hillary :X ...the Clinton machine will really rip into him.

Id prefer a lot of other candidates to him.

I like the fiscal side of what he can do...just think the way he goes about things will rub enough people the wrong way to not vote for him.

Could have very easily lost re-election this past year had Wisconsin dems had someone better than crapass Burke running against him.

I don't think he has a chance to win the nomination and I don't want him to.. Is to much like Obama, except from the right.. Many will Love him and many will hate him and there will be very few in between.

It is cliche, and a view from a world where the sky is purple and Unicorns still live ;)

But, we need someone who will unite us and not continue to divide us.

Wish someone like Jon Huntsman would jump to the Independent Party and run so we'd have a 3rd party choice who would have a chance.
Agree 100% with this.

:hifive:

It's not politicians that divide us, it's disagreement on major issues.

 There is no reason a middle ground cannot be found for most Major issues..

It doesn't always have to be "Take it or leave it", sometimes it should be this+that.

Unfortunately the word "Compromise" is a 10 letter word when it comes to politics.

I can get behind this about Walker. He is not the "sexy" pick when it comes to a Presidential candidate. Then again, who is right now? I don't see anyone I'd vote for above another right now. I think Walker's ceiling is Governor and that is not a bad ceiling to have be it for 8 or possibly 12 years. I don't think he stays longer than 12.

Neither party has a person jumping out grabbing votes, yet. This casino thing is a small can of worms in 12 months when the race heats up.

I have said this somewhere else on this thread.....he is the Republican version of Bill Clinton. I consider him to be a front runner for the nomination, as he has already had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him. Like Clinton, he has pretty much been under constant investigation for many years and it is clear that most people do not care.

From what I understand he gave a great speech last week and many people are excited about him. Unfortunately in this day and age that is pretty much all it takes.

Bill Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar with a doctorate in law from Yale. Walker doesn't have a college degree.

Three elections, three victories in a nominally blue state with the opposition having thrown everything but the kitchen sink at him. Scott Walker "sits on a throne made of the skulls of his enemies."

Heck, I'd vote for him if for no other reason than to see the resulting mass apoplexy from the left in this country.

So they are going to cut the UW system by 300M and give 220M to the Bucks for a new Arena? - wow.
In the new Wisconsin, we want monster truck rallies and bro-country mega-shows, less book-lernin' and Madison professorial types shootin' they mouths off.
It gets worse, there is a two year freeze on tuition increases, then after two years the universities have free reign on tuition pricing. So after two years, they can increase tuition to recover from the reduction in funding. He probably has hopes that by then he will be the next president so the Wisconsin University system will no longer be his issue to worry about.

It is my understanding the $220M is going to be funding by tax increases to players/acts that play in the new arena. If the team is sold and moves the remaining balance will be funded by the sale of the team. Maybe Walker can convince the Bucks to build the new arena on the grounds of the old Dog track in Kenosha (not gonna happen).

As far as other comments regarding Walker having everything thrown at him, things will get very different when he announces his candidacy for president. The investigation of local media outlets like the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal or the Wisconsin State Journal are much different than national media outlets looking for "dirt" on Walker.

I think he is a near opposite to Clinton.

When did Clinton completely divide people on issues like Walker has?

Clinton's genius was in his ability to talk and sell the other side on what he wanted and work things out.

Walker is the opposite of that...he pushes his way and hopes to gain enough support for it no matter who he pisses off along the way (at least that is how those who don't like him at all see him).

Walker is a real wildcard right now...his tough talk is something many on the GOP want...they want someone who will stand-up to the left and this is something he has a track record of doing...the college degree thing is very interesting...I think many are tired of the Ivy League BS and if the elite mock him for this it could turn into a big plus for him...right now I see Walker, Kasich and Rubio as three guys that intrigue a lot of people (Pence would join them if he runs)...Jeb isn't getting the nomination regardless of what the mainstream media believes...Mitt is still a powerful force that will get a serious look...Christie will get some play but it just feels like his window came and went already...Ted Cruz is too controversial right now but he will make things interesting...Rand Paul has a little too much oddness to him so I don't see him as viable...Huckabee, Santorum, Jindal, Graham, Perry and Carson are guys that I don't see having a chance...the GOP primary has a chance to be very entertaining...

C'mon, man. That's a :bs: representation. The UW System has been running amok for as long as I can remember, sucking the taxpayer money like a greedy piglet. ####, after crying "poor" every year it was discovered that the UW system was actually squirreling away and hiding money. THAT was the catalyst for the freeze in the first place. Most likely for the budget cuts now too.

And the Arena is actually being paid for by the Jock tax and not the taxpayers of WI, so that's an apples to oranges comparison.

You got a link to the free reign on tuition increase after two years? I'd like to read that. I'm not sure that is correct. The UW System still falls under the state and the state still has control of it.

As far as funding the new arena in Milwaukee, the income taxes collected from the professional athletes playing in the arena (the Bucks and visiting teams) will go to paying off a bond used to build it. There are no new taxes to the athletes or to WI residents.

Highly doubt the crap thrown at Walker will be any worse. The investigations by the WI State Journal and the Milwaukee Urinal were very much instigated by national powers and unions.

There is a whole political ideology based on that - and it's not conservatives.

Excellent idea. Let's disqualify those who have obtained the best educations the world has to offer, and instead elect folks who aren't motivated to get a college degree.

Hmmm...aren't you supposed to be championing the poor and downtrodden? Weird how that only works for votes but in real life you want nothing to do with them.

And if anything, this current POSTUS has proven that an Ivy league degree can do a lot of damage.

Where did I say disqualify...I said it could be a political plus...the elitism to say a guy who has become Governor without a college degree because he is lazy is the exact attitude I am referring to...

Please, you are so far to the left of me from here it looks like you and Dr. D are cuddling. Do you honestly beleive Scott Walker has ever had an independant thought in his life? He is a regurgitator (wow) of talking points, talking points provided by the Koch's and other 'conservative' and 'libertarian' thinktanks. You know what got people riled up in Iowa for him? Rediculously stupid one liners, and that is what he will sink or swim on.

I am assuming from your correction that you were capable of getting a college degree and did so. He was capable to and accomplished becoming a governor. What have you accomplished?

It is the UW system, not just one university. IIRC UW Milwaukee would see 20 million in cuts. Have you looked at their course listing? Pretty sure universities in this country might be among the most beneficial things to cut. The fewer hipsters we have coming out of college that took iyanger yoga, celtic studies, and oceanic art, the better. Even if we concede that these studies are really great for society, do they really need to be offered in the evening and summer too?

Are you going to pay for the paper, ink, fuel, compiling, etc. of the signatures? Advertising, tv commercials, radio commercials, print ads letting the citizens know of said recall election? FaceBook posts, YouTube videos? Are you going to drive around the state letting people know about a second recall election? Ballot printing?

You don't think much do you?
A troll event this grand,, I think they could raise a few bucks. Or, maybe even better, they could try to get the state to pay for it, and when Walker denies it, they could claim that Walker is being a dictator and subverting the peoples' will.
Um, sure. Are you going to get this started? Go back to playing WoW or Minecraft.

This is just not true. It's a combination of things, but mostly the politicians, the media and the emergence of social media.

There have always been disagreements and political divide, but there was always respect and not bitter hate.

That falls on the politicians themselves and the way they play the other side in the media nowadays.

It's not politicians that divide us, it's disagreement on major issues.
This is just not true. It's a combination of things, but mostly the politicians, the media and the emergence of social media. There have always been disagreements and political divide, but there was always respect and not bitter hate.

So they are going to cut the UW system by 300M and give 220M to the Bucks for a new Arena? - wow.
In the new Wisconsin, we want monster truck rallies and bro-country mega-shows, less book-lernin' and Madison professorial types shootin' they mouths off.
Sounds like it

Scott Walker says UW faculty should be 'teaching more classes and doing more work'
Because a $1.7 BILLION Dollar Slush fund isn't enough for the college?

I disagree. The 24/7 news cycle has a lot to do with the self generated outrage, but a lot of today's divide it has to do with 3 major recent events: Gore/Bush being decided by the Supremes, Bush then leading us into the most unpopular foreign policy excursion since Vietnam, and a black guy winning the Presidency. The first two pissed off liberals to no end, and the 3rd has had southern conservatives angry since 2008.

Politicians used to shoot each other. Now they get on TV and argue. Despite everyone wanting to believe that things were more civil back in the day, it's simply not true.

Excellent idea. Let's disqualify those who have obtained the best educations the world has to offer, and instead elect folks who aren't motivated to capable of getting a college degree.

He is a music box that plays the Koch's tune. Not even a little brain activity imo.
I am assuming from your correction that you were capable of getting a college degree and did so. He was capable to and accomplished becoming a governor. What have you accomplished?
I am capable of getting one which is the important part, and in all honesty I'm sure Walker could too, it is not that great of a feat. My point was, much like a child, he seems incapable of collecting a body of facts and using them to make informed decisions. Like a music box or a billboard, he can convey the message, but he has no understanding of the 'why' and no principles which the message relies on, other than maybe 'union bad' and 'koch good'.

Admittedly, I am more of a 'capable man' than an 'accomplished man', but I'd rank all my accomplishments higher than assuming any position in political office.

And as to me being lazy, I'm 25, putting a head on my shoulders. Give me a few years to accumulate some capital, then come try and compete with me. You'll end up broke and depressed, but at least I'll teach you a thing or two about real success.
:lmao: :lmao:
So what are you going to do with all that capital?
Generate more of course :excited: . I'll be rolling out a step by step how to become a billionaire thread in ~4 years. Food, fuel, and housing are the major points.
He's not playing games.

He's almost a billionaire :moneybag: by now.

:lmao:

Needless to say, I'm about 4 years behind on progress so far, but I'm as assured as ever that I'm capable of it.

Im glad we have someone in here as clueless as cr8...anyone who can claim someone else is just spitting out talking points while bringing up Koch is surely going to provide some entertainment.

Oh...there we go. I knew we'd get a "Koch Brothers" parrot in here. Is that what your liberal masters told you to say today? Or are you still stuck on the "War Veterans are Murderers and Killers"?
Please, you are so far to the left of me from here it looks like you and Dr. D are cuddling. Do you honestly beleive Scott Walker has ever had an independant thought in his life? He is a regurgitator (wow) of talking points, talking points provided by the Koch's and other 'conservative' and 'libertarian' thinktanks. You know what got people riled up in Iowa for him? Rediculously stupid one liners, and that is what he will sink or swim on.
I guess your TI 30 doesn't have a spell check? Or are you in 6th grade? I actually apologize for either in advance.

The first GOP debate will be in August. I've seen a little bit of Walker's gubernatorial debate performances. He's really not bad when he sticks to his talking points. Although a straight 1-on-1 format against a weak opponent is a lot different from competing to stand out on the crowded stage of the early debates.

Can't wait. That's usually about the time I give up on the baseball season.

 I won't disagree that to a degree Obama fits the bill. I think a disregard of both principles and consistent reasoning as to the 'why' sums up very well the wanna be dictators that reside between the socialist and libertarian ideals, which we refer to as democrats and republicans. But the difference between the Obamas, Rand Pauls, and TimCrochets when compared to the Scott Walkers is that I believe the former have obtained a body of knowledge and have at their disposal understanding and principles, but they choose not to use it because it would forbid them from forwarding their personal agenda. Which may very well be an argument in favor of Walker, that he has not came to political office to see his vision smashed down the throat of the people. But his reliance on his handlers to inform him on which side of an issue he should take puts us back to the same position, intelligent people who seek to use the government as a means to their desired ends making the decisions. But hey, if the worst thing about the Kochs is that they are crony-capitalist he will probably be quite palatable compared to many of the other GOP contenders, to me,,, not that that is saying much.

Wow, the Indians are playing hard ball aren't they?

That is a tough deal to pass up.

$200 million for the arena... no strings attached.

New casino... jobs

Possible loss of Presidential run in the short term.

Holding the state from any losses... and reimbursing the Potowotomi.

Woah!!!!

As until February 19th to decide. Hand to the fire here.

what? Where do you see this? The Journal doesn't even have it on their website. Are you some kind of political insider?

Blown away here. If they actually propose this and Walker says "no"... is that a slap to Wisconsin or a high five to the Potowotomi?

Is there any drawback here other than a pissed off Pot?
