Why? He has been incredibly effective.

He has the money...no doubt.

But He pisses off many people (some even on the right) as far as voters go.

College dropout...does things in a pretty sleazy way. I think the primaries will tear him apart some...and if not, and its against Hillary :X ...the Clinton machine will really rip into him.

Id prefer a lot of other candidates to him.

I like the fiscal side of what he can do...just think the way he goes about things will rub enough people the wrong way to not vote for him.

I can get behind this about Walker. He is not the "sexy" pick when it comes to a Presidential candidate. Then again, who is right now? I don't see anyone I'd vote for above another right now. I think Walker's ceiling is Governor and that is not a bad ceiling to have be it for 8 or possibly 12 years. I don't think he stays longer than 12.

Neither party has a person jumping out grabbing votes, yet. This casino thing is a small can of worms in 12 months when the race heats up.

Bill Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar with a doctorate in law from Yale. Walker doesn't have a college degree.

It gets worse, there is a two year freeze on tuition increases, then after two years the universities have free reign on tuition pricing. So after two years, they can increase tuition to recover from the reduction in funding. He probably has hopes that by then he will be the next president so the Wisconsin University system will no longer be his issue to worry about.

It is my understanding the $220M is going to be funding by tax increases to players/acts that play in the new arena. If the team is sold and moves the remaining balance will be funded by the sale of the team. Maybe Walker can convince the Bucks to build the new arena on the grounds of the old Dog track in Kenosha (not gonna happen).

As far as other comments regarding Walker having everything thrown at him, things will get very different when he announces his candidacy for president. The investigation of local media outlets like the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal or the Wisconsin State Journal are much different than national media outlets looking for "dirt" on Walker.

Clinton's genius was in his ability to talk and sell the other side on what he wanted and work things out.

Walker is the opposite of that...he pushes his way and hopes to gain enough support for it no matter who he pisses off along the way (at least that is how those who don't like him at all see him).

C'mon, man. That's a representation. The UW System has been running amok for as long as I can remember, sucking the taxpayer money like a greedy piglet. ####, after crying "poor" every year it was discovered that the UW system was actually squirreling away and hiding money. THAT was the catalyst for the freeze in the first place. Most likely for the budget cuts now too.

And the Arena is actually being paid for by the Jock tax and not the taxpayers of WI, so that's an apples to oranges comparison.

You got a link to the free reign on tuition increase after two years? I'd like to read that. I'm not sure that is correct. The UW System still falls under the state and the state still has control of it.

As far as funding the new arena in Milwaukee, the income taxes collected from the professional athletes playing in the arena (the Bucks and visiting teams) will go to paying off a bond used to build it. There are no new taxes to the athletes or to WI residents.

Highly doubt the crap thrown at Walker will be any worse. The investigations by the WI State Journal and the Milwaukee Urinal were very much instigated by national powers and unions.

It is the UW system, not just one university. IIRC UW Milwaukee would see 20 million in cuts. Have you looked at their course listing? Pretty sure universities in this country might be among the most beneficial things to cut. The fewer hipsters we have coming out of college that took iyanger yoga, celtic studies, and oceanic art, the better. Even if we concede that these studies are really great for society, do they really need to be offered in the evening and summer too?

The 24/7 news cycle has a lot to do with the self generated outrage, but a lot of today's divide it has to do with 3 major recent events: Gore/Bush being decided by the Supremes, Bush then leading us into the most unpopular foreign policy excursion since Vietnam, and a black guy winning the Presidency. The first two pissed off liberals to no end, and the 3rd has had southern conservatives angry since 2008.

My point was, much like a child, he seems incapable of collecting a body of facts and using them to make informed decisions. Like a music box or a billboard, he can convey the message, but he has no understanding of the 'why' and no principles which the message relies on, other than maybe 'union bad' and 'koch good'.

Admittedly, I am more of a 'capable man' than an 'accomplished man', but I'd rank all my accomplishments higher than assuming any position in political office.

I won't disagree that to a degree Obama fits the bill. I think a disregard of both principles and consistent reasoning as to the 'why' sums up very well the wanna be dictators that reside between the socialist and libertarian ideals, which we refer to as democrats and republicans. But the difference between the Obamas, Rand Pauls, and TimCrochets when compared to the Scott Walkers is that I believe the former have obtained a body of knowledge and have at their disposal understanding and principles, but they choose not to use it because it would forbid them from forwarding their personal agenda. Which may very well be an argument in favor of Walker, that he has not came to political office to see his vision smashed down the throat of the people. But his reliance on his handlers to inform him on which side of an issue he should take puts us back to the same position, intelligent people who seek to use the government as a means to their desired ends making the decisions. But hey, if the worst thing about the Kochs is that they are crony-capitalist he will probably be quite palatable compared to many of the other GOP contenders, to me,,, not that that is saying much.
