Whether Simon and Garfunkel or AC/DC is better depends on your taste in music, as both are well-known and influential artists:
  • Simon and Garfunkel
An American folk rock duo that was very popular in the 1960s. Their music was a key part of the success of the movie The Graduate in 1967. The duo was influenced by artists such as The Everly Brothers, Elvis Presley, The Crickets, and The Beatles.
  • AC/DC
A band whose music is often described as hard rock, blues rock, or heavy metal, but they call it "rock and roll". They are considered a formative influence on British heavy metal bands like Def Leppard and Saxon. AC/DC is the 84th most popular music artist of all time and the 2nd most popular hard rock and metal artist.

:lmao:

AC/DC and it isn't even remotely close. Nothing against Simon & Garfunkle, but that isn't the type of music I listen to and classic rock definitely is.

An apples and oranges comparsion. That's like asking which is the better movie, The Wizard of Oz or Silence Of The Lambs?

Lol... I actually find the choice interesting.

Ac/dc more my regular wheelhouse, but S&G have a ton of amazing tunes.. I just have to be more in the mood for them.

you would probably think that acdc would win in a straight up street fight but you would be wrong paul simon is trained in krav maga brazilian jui jitsu and muay thai and would straight up kill a punk who dared approach him on the street put that in your pipe ms robinson take that to the bank bromigos

Now this is funny. Since I am forced to actually search and find the laughing emoji and that takes an extra 20 seconds of my day I'm going to give you a nice response that I did literally laugh out loud at this post. Well done bromuskie.

Of the songs listed in the OP, I like Mrs. Robinson way better. However, overall, went AC/DC because there were part of my baseball pre-game songs I listened to in high school.

I know. It’s “only” rock and roll.
But I like it.

Easy. 🧙‍♂️
Although Toto is slightly less likely to consume the other cast members.

I think this is a bot post.....reported

I have a ginormous music collection, and oddly both of these are in my wheelhouse. I have all of S&G's albums in my collection. I have a lot of AC/DC as well (but not everything). I happen to think Paul Simon is one of the top handful of American songwriters from the last century. I'm in an age demographic where I should probably enjoy adult contemporary. But I listen to AC/DC way more than S&G. Paul and Art are still enjoyable on occasion, but it's pretty hard to rock out on S&G.

Never liked AC/DC much outside of a couple songs, typically ruins a perfectly good classic rock set
So I default voted S&G...you all know Simon wrote all their songs? He tells everybody that
Not true! Garfunkel has a cowriting credit on Scarborough Fair.

I think that's the only one. Not because Paul Simon said it, because I looked at the credits on all the albums. Garfunkel was just an empty suit with the voice of an angel.

Are we saying that AC/DC wasn't influenced by the Everly Brothers? As if Little Suzy DIDN'T have American thighs?

This is a tough one for me. I think S&G is the more influential group, and when I am in the mood for folk music they are in my playlist. When I want to listen to music in general, it is usually going to be some flavor of rock, but AC/DC doesn't really crack my top 30 rock bands

I voted Simon & Garfunkel, but it's close and depends on the mood.

The more fun task is to come up with the Simon & Garfunkel song that sounds most like an AC/DC song and vice versa. I feel pretty good about Baby Driver for the first one, but going the other way is a lot tougher. You Shook Me All Night Long, maybe?

Not a giant fan of each but prefer S&G wayyy more than AC/DC. Not into hair bands at all. When I think of AC/DC I think of when a dance club plays the "Shook Me" song to clear out the dance floor and make people go buy more booze.

I'm starting to see why Nirvana is neck and neck with Pearl Jam.

Didn't realize we were THIS old and soft around here.

I am thunderstruck by all the possible laugh emoji's I could have handed out to all my old friends here. It's gonna be a hazy shade of winter around here without that thing.
