Some Jerkoff is Shooting Cars on the Phoenix I-10 (1 Viewer)

I actually hadn't even heard about this until we were about 6 or 7 shootings in, but someone is randomly shooting cars here in Phoenix, and has done so about 10 or 11 times over the last two weeks. They take place on one of our main freeways, the I-10. Nobody's been killed yet, as far as I know.

Anyway, it's weird driving down the street and seeing the overhead signs giving us a "Shooting tip line" phone number. Didn't really start making me nervous until I was halfway to work today. I already have employees choosing to take side streets to work, instead.

One of the latest articles on it where it mentions it could have been a pellet gun used on the 11th car:

Yeah this really pisses me off. I live on the east side (Chandler) and work downtown. I think most of the action has been on the west side. This incident says maybe a pellet gun? I wonder if we are going to get copycats who now think it's a fun game to shoot at moving vehicles. I hope they catch this guy soon and I hope he resists arrest and gets the #### beat out of him.

Also, let's not repeat the cluster of foxes that was the manhunt for the DC Sniper.

Didn't this happen before with an air gun and the guy still got like 80 years to life? Like 3 years ago

It is a bit freaky. I'm fortunate to live close to work and rarely drive on the freeway, but I have some buddies who drive that stretch of the 10 every day. Weird.

This happens with some frequency all over the U.S., but it's normally seen to be isolated incidents and the perps are almost never caught.

Yeah I used to take the ten to work downtown everyday from Tempe. This is really scary.

Given the number of incidents though and the ways they could easily charge this, I can tell you that if this person is caught it's unlikely he sees the light of day for a long time, if ever.

Meh - I would be more worried about the lady putting on makeup during her commute or some moron trying to text while driving.

As a guy who texted and drove to work on this stretch of rode quite often, I assure you this is terrible posting.
As a guy who drives the I25 in Colorado quite often - where the shooter isn't using a pellet gun - I assure you that it isn't.

"Rode"? Were you texting and driving when you made this post?
Oof, I wish I could say I was.

yeah I didn't realize this was going on until I saw a "I 10 Shooter Tip line" flashing on a freeway sign on the way in to work today and was like what the what.

There is a group of vigilante type people patrolling the overpasses. I'm a big 2nd amendment guy, but that has a bad feel to it.

Supposedly there were four more incidents today, once confirmed to be shots. That makes 11 confirmed now.

We are in Chandler and my wife was going up the 51 today about the same time as they were shooting there also. Its amazing no one can find this guy. The tought part is that there aren't many options to get around without getting on that highway.

There's someone doing the same thing in the Canton, OH area. Obviously a much smaller area though. A guy I want to HS with was one of the first people in that area to have his truck window shot out while driving in the highway. They also think it's a pellet gun there.

Crazy stuff. Probably some stupid teen or young loser twenty something.

Be safe guys. I can't imagine how scary it would be to be shot at while stuck in traffic. So defenseless.

You realize these aren't pellets, right? I believe only one or two incidents were a pellet.
