The Chiefs know how Charles looks.  And he runs with the scout team still.

It was the right call. He lost it, and regained control (briefly) when he pinned it against the pylon. Bummer for me... leaves me up 32 w/ other guy having Brees/Ingram on MNF. I would like my chances more with that TD. :(

What you described is a TD.  Regained control and pinned ball against pylon. The second the ball hits the pylon/breaks the plane, the play is over.

No. He lost the ball, it hit the pylon, and then he regained it for a split second.

 
Didn't need the TD this week thankfully. Have no plans of dropping Ware anytime soon. At the very least we should see if Jamaal even plays next week.

If you watch the full replay, it actually looks like Ware had regained control for a split second with his left hand pinning the ball into his right. It's only after he and the ball land on the overturned pylon that it is again dislodged. The fact that he doesn't lose the ball until after he's already knocked over the pylon with it makes me think that this was a blown call. I'm not saying that it wasn't a fumble, I'm just saying it wasn't definitive enough to overturn.

 
Ware is younger and odds are that he's less prone to injury. Ware is also more apt to be able to return from being knicked up back to 100% than Charles. I believe Ware is actually worth more than Charles at this point and is the one to own for later in the season when championships are won.

No way.. He regained control... plus the ruling on the field was a TD, no way it should have even been overturned

I'm a Jets fan (after that game :bag:  ) - and during the game my exact text to a buddy was "I am not sure that was the right call, but I'll take it). Since I had benched Ware for Lacy, it made it even easier to take.

He just got 21 vs a very good run D that has allowed 3 Rush TDs since start of 2015.

Jamaal Charles career avg vs Jets: 12.5 attempts, 61.5 yards, 0.5 TD, 1.5 rec, 7 rec yds.

The real issue that seems to be ignored is after two ACL repairs, will JC even be as good as Spencer Ware?

Believe me, I wanted it to be a TD as bad as anyone, but I think you might be seeing what you want to see.

It was overturned based on the incredible camera technology available today. Kind of like all these "catch" reviews with receivers going to the ground. If the ball moves it is not a catch. Well thanks to HD, freeze frame, zoom technology... it looks to me like the ball ALWAYS moves, and probably always has.

With crappier camera technology I agree, no way the Ware TD gets overturned. But in this new age of black op's quality camera analysis, he lost control for the last 0.0013 seconds before the ball contacted the pylon.

 
Don't worry, he'll get his multiple TDs this week in Pittsburgh and then we can start debating if Charles will play week 6 in Oakland all over again. 

 
Ware played on 45 snaps (71%) which was up 27% from last week. He was targeted once in the passing game and had 20 carries, 2 of which were in the RZ. His total utilization was up 66% from last week.

West on the other hand only saw 22% of the snaps, down 46% from last week. His total utilization was also down 25%.

So, despite the modest line the snap/utilization for Ware trended way up.

I'm already assuming that Charles is going to sit next week and even if he plays I'm going to assume he sees similar snaps/touches as West. PIT is quite an interesting match-up. They've done a pretty decent job of limiting RBs on the ground (although they gave up 120 yards to Smallwood/Barner yesterday in a blow out). They also allowed both Gio and Sproles to eclipse 100 yards receiving.

I believe if Ware is to receive the a similar workload to the one he received yesterday, he should be considered a RB1 vs. PIT.

Speaking Monday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said "there's a chance" Jamaal Charles (knee) returns for Week 4.
It's basically what Reid's been saying for weeks. We'd bet on Charles missing his fourth straight game, and for Spencer Ware to once again carry the mail in Kansas City's backfield. Charles' status will be updated no later than Wednesday.

Pretty sure I have read reports that the Chiefs have no plans for Charles to return prior to their Bye week which I am guessing is the week after next? Pitt, Bye, Oak...is that right?

And then when he does return it isn't going to be 18-20 carries out of the box as some thing. He will take West's touches and then gradually increase but still at the end of the day, are you going to load Jamaal Charles up just coming off injury and no preseason games? I said it felt like 7-8 weeks before he would be so important in the offense before you think about benching Ware but until the Chiefs(if the Chiefs) get to that point then I'll deal with it. Ware has some monster games on the horizon, that Oakland contest could be Portis like.

This changes nothing IMO but it does back the folks who initially said it would be a month to maybe Week 6 before we saw Charles.  

 
Going to have an impossible decision at RB this week if Jamaal is out.  IMO Charles  is out until the bye. Ware getting 15-20 touches is almost a guarantee of 80 yds with upside. Got zeke, Hyde, and, McCoy as my other options.

After watching the eagles run through pitt, this feels like a good matchup for ware

Hahaha. Exactly.  I should use that more often!  I do think owning or trading for both - if you can - is the way to go now, especially in dynasty.  Both Charles and Ware can probably be had right now because people are concerned about the RBBC.  But I think they will both get points and could envision starting Charles or Ware together (RB2 and as my FLEX).

 
Would you all move Ware for Josh Gordon this week?  I think Ware has more value now with the PIT match up before he hits the bye and JC possible return.  Love the guy but I'm deep at RB and I think I can get Gordon (high risk) from the JC owner.

 
So it seems that most of you guys are holding onto Ware? I'm in a somewhat short bench league that only leaves me 5 spots at RB/WR. Holding onto Ware is tough. With week 4 being his last sure start of the season before heading into their week 5 bye, Ware's trade value may not be higher at this point. He has at least another start in him and once week 4 is over, I would expect most to lose interest in trading for him for fear of the RBBC or for him to be relegated to a backup role. In terms of value, what would it take for you guys to move Ware straight up?

 
I'm going down with the ship on this one.

I've seen too much from Ware and too little from Charles.

At worst, Ware's floor is a flex. At best, his ceiling is RB1.

The potential for even more profit from a 10th round pick is still there.

Ware has one more week as the starter (at best) against the #4 rush defense in the league.  And you're wondering if you should trade him for a potential top 10 WR?  Unless you have deep benches or you're a dynasty you'll be dropping Ware in 3-4 weeks anyway.  If this was offered to you it's a no brainer.  If this wasn't offered to you then hate to burst your bubble but someone would have to be brain-dead to accept that offer.

There's no point in trading him. As you said, most guys see either Charles coming back full force or a split. The return is somewhat limited unless you're talking dynasty/long term keeper.

He has more value on your team while you hope Charles is not himself and can't earn his normal share of touches this season.

I missed it. So it was confirmed that Charles will be starting after the bye? Awesome.

Potential top-10 WR... WHEN HE HAD A QB. All bets are off on Gordon now again.

If you think Ware has won the job outright over Charles you're crazy.  At best we're talking a 50:50 split with Charles back.  Do you really think (in non-dynasty) that a 50:50 RBBC is worth starting?  And my guess is we're talking 60-75% Charles 25-40% Ware once Charles is back.  Personally I don't hold onto guys that need an injury to have real value if I can have actual value today.  (Again just talking non-dynasty/short bench leagues).
