Sprinkles (1 Viewer)

Jimmies: Fine, whatever.

All other types (quins, pareils, large sanding sugar): Why would anyone put them on food? They're just rocks. They legitimately hurt to bite them. And in the case of quins (the little pastel-colored discs), not only are they rocks, they actually taste terrible to me. At least the others just taste like sugar.

I agree sprinkles are edible glitter, don’t like it and don’t want it

Jimmies on soft serve 👍
Yeah I legit can be into jimmies at the right time. I'm fact, one thing that contributed to starting this thread is the change from jimmies to large sanding sugar on Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. They're still great. Just don't like biting those crystals.

Jelly sucks too. Sprinkles on icing rule.
You gotta be more specific here. If you're suggesting gummy candy in/around baked goods or ice cream, I 100% agree. But a dollop of apricot jam mixed into a bowl of vanilla ice cream is a beautiful thing. And the jelly layer in something like a jaffa cake is a wonder to behold!

I had an apricot kolache this morning. Excellent. Made by Czechs who know.
Delicious!

Oh man this reminds me of when I partied too hard at our work Christmas party, wife decided my punishment the next morning was to go to target and leave me with 2 toddlers. Anyway she was doing holiday baking at this time and the kids had grabbed the bottle of sprinkles off the counter and were just eating them by the handful

I'm with you on everything except the large sugar crystals that you sometimes find on cookies and such. That's good - the crunch and sweetness it adds can make a decent cookie excellent.

I have zero interest in sprinkles/jimmies/that random processed sugar shapes with no taste or texture interest. My wife and daughter LOVE sprinkles on their ice cream...I do not get it.

I don't mind the sprinkles that they put on donuts but...

WTF is the deal with putting gold foil on food? I see it all the time on baking shows. Gold foil? Really?

Why???
I think some get carried away by the decorative aspect of food and forget that at some point someone has to eat it.

I can’t lie to the monocled. Something about Community Chest and the race car in Free Parking does it to me and I’m grabbing fake cash and passing it off in Minnesota for fenty (Rihanna’s brand—😉) before the seismic forces descend upon the Twin Cities and we abolish all monopolies of currency and forcible Rihanna commands
