Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread: Kings win 2nd Cup in 3 seasons (1 Viewer)

Hank has had some great games, but this has to rank near the top considering the stakes. Unfortunately he can't allow anything since everyone up and down the Kings roster can bring it.

Puck luck is back!!!!

Rockaction really having trouble digging up Mike Keenan quotes today.
Not really worried about speed anymore. Everyone's already said it, and everyone knows the Kings are better. This board to the contrary, nobody has really made fun of speed being a factor to watch for.

Which is all I said, a million times over. It's a factor, not determinative, and it was a concern, but not enough to pick the Rangers. I was just wondering about arch snarkness, which still seems to be the method of delivery. So, no, no Keenan quotes today.
oh, so you agreed all along. interesting.

Picked the Kings in six b/c I gave the Rangers the benefit of the doubt. The speed quotes are all there to read. It's a public record. If you were that concerned about it, not sure how you missed it.

Regardless, game on tonight!

Here's where the speed thing begins: #8091

Note the word "factor"

Also, #8093 is there, too, if you're that interested. It's pretty clear what I was trying to say.

Also, post #8097 .
public record

:lmao:

I guess we don't have to hear about Rangers not getting the bounces anymore. not sure how LA didn't put up at least 5 last night. well, besides Lundqvist being really really good.

Thoughts on speed and its impact in the game were discussed much earlier than that. Post #7826 (if not earlier).

WEll the breaks went back the other way

Gotta wonder about these crappy sticks - has to be a better balance in flex vs breakability
Broken sticks haven't been friends to the Rangers. King breaks a stick and its a Ranger penalty (due to Ranger cracking down on the stick), Ranger breaks a stick and its a breakaway goal.

The Rangers sure can't say the hockey god of luck is against them after game 4. Hopefully they didn't use all of that luck up in the one game. Hank played a great game and the Ranger's defensive shell game actually worked. Welcome to game 5. Rangers win there and the Garden's gonna be rockin'.

Didn't understand more than 3 words of Sutter's answer :lmao:
Thank god. Thought I was the only one who didn't understand his gibberish. Sutter wasn't even within sniffing distance of answering the question.

Girardi gets a slashing call on that in the regular season
The Rangers had at least two slashes that should have been called. One nasty one (forget whose). Seemed like the refs wanted a game 5. I'm a Ranger homer and still thought it was ridiculous.

Although Girardi made a couple of decent plays, he looked like he was losing energy as the game ran on. Marc Staal isn't having a very good series. Even with Hank playing a strong game, unless the Ranger D improves, there's not going to be a game 6.

I know. I'm talking about my slightly vehement defense of the speed comments, which I think is what really caused the emphasis in this thread.

Public record seems fine. Or I could have said, "it's all here," colloquially. Regardless, who cares about the wording?

Anyway, great game last night. Glad the Rangers got a win.

eta* "public record" is not fine. It implies some sort of governmental function. My bad.

I've got to agree with you. I love this ####. I love the "unfamiliar tongues" statement.

Spooky things are already happening. After Friday morning's practice, Darryl Sutter spoke in unfamiliar tongues in response to a question about the importance of a good start:

"How important is a good start? Well, that's why they put time on the clock always, that's when it starts. Then you get 30, 40 seconds of it, then somebody else gets to go. It's not just the start. I mean, what does 'start' mean? Does that mean shift, period, till the first time out, O zone, neutral zone, D zone, faceoff? What does it mean?"

Page 3? With a potential Cup clincher on home ice tonight?

:sadbanana:
Rangers fans gave up after Game 2 andBucky is too busy making plans for the victory parade.
I beg your pardon... No true Ranger fan has given up yet.
I lost hope after Game 3. Love to be proven wrong, but I don't see it.
One game at a time. Rangers win tonight and they bring it back to MSG. You want to talk about a wild atmosphere, be at the Garden for game 6. Tonight's the night.
