Only thing I can think of is he doesn't want it in Quick's mind that he couldn't finish a game as they head home. Nothing else makes sense.

Tough call. He's been pulled once already in this series. At what point do you worry about ruining his confidence?
When he's given up 5 or 6 straight goals and your idiot team leaves you with a 5 on 3 situation.

I don't think Quick has been 100% healthy all year, but he'll be just fine.
Is this the part of the NHL playoffs where we think the Sharks are the 1984 Oilers? That never seems to work out for them.

I can see it either way. However, think about what happened after he got pulled the other night down 5-0, and his team finally starts to show some life in the third with Jones in net. I just think it's an awful message to pull your franchise goalie in consecutive games because the guys in front of him can't get out of their own way.
What does Sutter do to shake these guys up, start Jones in Game 3?

Lived in Columbus when they were born. Was at the first preseason game vs the Wings when the fans protested calls by throwing plastic beer bottles all over the ice.
Also, is any team less likable than the Bruins? I don't even like the Wings but am having no trouble rooting for them in this series.

Keumper start confirmed. Brodziak and Veilleux out, Fontaine and Heatley in. I'm guessing Stoner gets scratched for Blum too.
Have the Wild been trying to match up with the top Avs line at all so far? Will getting last change allow them to do a better job slowing these kids down you think?
I see an article mentioning Haula, Cooke, and Niederreiter will be matching up with them. Even though Suter plays half the game as it is, I have to assume they'll want him out there as often as possible to slow down MacKinnon and company too.
Stats show Niederreiter getting abused in both games so I'm assuming he was already seeing plenty of those guys. Haula should help.
Spurgeon looks like he was abused in the last game. That seems strange since I thought he was the primary partner for Suter.
this post is the only reason the Flyers won yesterday, btw.Emery...it's like the Flyers don't want to win.

@danrosen: Keith is being accused of saying "wakey wakey, Backes" after Seabrook hit him. Keith was asked about it twice today, never denied saying it.

yes, they've been trying to match the 3rd line up with them and switched Haula to that line for Brodziak to add more speed (fastest guy on roster) to that matchup, among other things. 1st line was also out there a lot against them in G2 although I'm not sure if that was more Yeo or Roy's doing. that didn't work out well though. obviously the last change will allow them to have Suter out there as much as possible and match the 3rd line up on them again.
Niederreiter will likely be on the 4th line with Heatley and McCormick and Fontaine will be with Cooke and Haula, though I'm sure there will be in game adjustments. he hasn't been great but I don't think he's cost them at all. moving Fontaine up also reunites an effective line combo from earlier this year.
Spurgeon was actually paired with Scandella most of the night G2 because Brodin was getting abused much of G1 and Scandella was shaky. So they moved Brodin back with Suter. Spurgeon has been uncharacteristically mistake ridden in recent weeks. he missed a lot of time this calendar year with a broken foot and was one of the few guys who got rest after the clinch. I'm guessing he's playing with some sort of injury. he has to be better.

Some are fired up about Duncan Keith's stupid crap, as well as wanting retribution for the Seabrook cheap shot, but my attitude is simple: eliminate them from the playoffs; that'll be the best revenge.

Chuck Fletcher just made a (what I thought was tongue in cheek) comment on local radio saying "(Rado) picked a hell of a year to tank" to get MacKinnon. I'm sure that will make headlines.

Just came off as a no big deal, eh whatever kind of comment for game 36 in January, not game 3 of the first round if the playoffs. And I'm sure I'm completely wrong. Interesting "revisionist history" considering Seth Jones was ranked ahead of MacKinnon throughout the season. It wasn't until the days leading up to the draft that it was obvious that MacKinnon was Rado's guy. Gotta give them credit for picking the "right one" (not that there was a "wrong one").
Jones was a beast in the World Juniors while MacKinnon didn't do much, IIRC. Then MacKinnon just took over in the Memorial Cup and Jones stock dropped a bit as people started to realize how underwhelming/slow to develop some of the highly drafted defensemen have been.
Agree with you though. Everybody thought Seth Jones was going to Colorado because of the connection he and his dad had with Sakic and the city.

Anyone know if there is data supporting the strategy of pulling the goalie?
Caller brought it up in the radio today and got me thinking about it. He suggested that there was one study that it was not worth the risk in a 1 goal game.
I also never understood why team's put the goalie back after an empty net goal makes it a 2 goal game. Seems as important if not more so to optimize goal scoring.

it was always a 4 player draft, they're all going to be good. regardless, I'm pretty sure his shot was more about being fortunate (terrible enough) to get top 2 picks 3 of 4 years. He's made comments like that before. It obviously makes it easy to rebuild. Unless you're the Oilers.Similar threads
