Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread: Kings win 2nd Cup in 3 seasons (2 Viewers)

I guess it's only fair that both of the second goals came off that way.

I was pulling for the kid to get his win after a couple of the saves he made tonight - he's played well

That was fast.

The king missed that one - not sure he shouldn't have been a little more careful on the redirect.

Good for the kid though

Plekanec threw the puck on net, Lundqvist made the initial save but the puck popped in off the upper body of Galchenyuk, who was crashing the far post.

Rangers played a decent game, but the Habs were the more desperate team the last two periods and the brief OT, and it showed.

Of course, can't take anything away from Tokarski - much like Hank in the first two games, the kid stole the show. He made some great saves, but IMO the Rangers erred by not putting any traffic in front of him and giving him good views of the puck.

Looks like Carcillo will sit for either 3 or 10 games. Hopefully Prust joins him.
Have no problem with that. While he has been a spark plug at times, seems like the guy takes stupid penalties a lot and yesterdays game misconduct might be the worst. I actually did not think he earned the boarding call but Ill leave that up to the experts

Prust was a cheap shot and should be 3 games at minimum but I dont know what the league does with those cases. Went for the head also. Step was chirping to him most of the night.

Agree with zamboni. Thought Toakarski played real solid BUT, he gives up juicy rebounds and the Rangers were never able to put one in.

Can't believe the Habs won that one. Tokarski was great but the Ranger forecheck was giving Montreal fits all night. It seemed like 3/4 of the game was in Montreal's end. No idea how 4 officials miss the Prust hit and he will be suspended (deservedly so). Worst game I've seen Subban play, not from trying to do too much, but unable to make any simple play almost all night.

Montreal was extremely fortunate last night. That luck won't continue. They'll need to move the puck quicker and more accurately or this will be a 5 game series.

I watched bits and pieces of the Ranger/Penguin series and it seemed slow. Watching the Rangers now and I'm really impressed with their speed and tenacity. I underestimated them for sure.

Friend of a friend works for the NHL and said Prust is definitely getting suspended, just not sure how many at this point.

The Refs didn't have their best game last night. Rangers definitely outplayed the Habs last night but either they were trying to fine tune their shots due to the strong goalie play or, they just had trouble hitting the net. Good job by the Habs in blocking shots and the goalie (esp. stopping St. Louis a couple times from the angle). Amazing that there were 39 SOG for the Rangers considering the missed shots and blocks.

Nice quip here:

Meanwhile, for no reason whatsoever, Daniel Carcillo got into it with the linesman. He may have been testing his theory that, after missing the Stepan hit, the officials' wouldn't know a penalty unless it hit them between the eyes.

If Montreal wins this series and the kid keeps playing well, would there be any thought of keeping him in there for the SCF over a relatively healthy Price?

Stepan has a broken jaw and is undergoing surgery.
So, being an NHL guy ( and to take a small swipe at the guys in the tougher athlete thread) he will be good to play in say, roughly 3 hours?
He came back and played in roughly 15 minutes. Fairly tough.
Heck for someone with a broken jaw he was yapping pretty hard at everyone after getting up and as he was going off the ice.

That's what I thought too. I actually heard a rumour that it wasn't that hit that caused the break. That it happened later. No proof to that, just what I heard.
