Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread: Kings win 2nd Cup in 3 seasons (6 Viewers)

Kind of like an 80s AFC Championship game. Fun to watch while it's happening but ultimately not going to mean much.

 
Francesa interviewed Pierre on WFAN this afternoon. When they got to the series out west, this question happened:

"So which team has the better goalie?"

:lol:

It's cute when he tawwks hockey.

 
I can't use. .. Looks like I picked the wrong time to stop sniffing glue. .. because I did already. .. Last series.

This team is maddening.

 
We Ranger contingent know they won't win tonight. Doing things the hard way for 88 years running.

That was ugly. I don't fault AV for not bringing Hank back out, he's pushed all the right buttons for months now. But I think Hank would have approached this period like it was a new game and the team would have responded.

I have no problem with sticking with Talbot. He played well this year but just isn't showing it here.

 
Pierre and Eddie have battled a couple of times tonight.

Eddie just called out Pierre for saying something stupid about NHL goalies that don't battle. :lol:

 
Edzo I'd like to see a goalie that doesn't battle.

Pierre: whatever Pierre says

Edzo: He wouldn't be in the NHL long if he didn't battle.

 
I just don't understand how you have that comeback and then play so flat to start the 3rd.

This game isn't a surprise in its result. But Henrik gad a bad one and the rest of it I don't know how to define except to say..... That's the Rangers.

 
Smart move by Dorsett to skate away. He could have whaled on Bourque but they can't afford to lose another player, esp with Prust returning.

I dont mind the goalie pull. It was now or never. Didnt work, but it was an.uphill battle already. Took a shot, it didnt work

Game turned on second habs goal. That cant go in. Henrik had an off day. It happens.

 
That was crazy. If you had told me prior to the game that the Rangers would get 4 goals, I would have placed a max bet on them in multiple sportsbooks. Not only did it lose -- it lost by 3 goals. :loco:

Put the game on when it was 1-0 Habs.

Rangers score like 30 seconds later .

Turned game back off.

Clearly that was the key.

He was given a match penalty.

Rule 21 - Match Penalties

21.1 Match Penalty - A match penalty involves the suspension of a player for the balance of the game and the offender shall be ordered to the dressing room immediately.

A match penalty shall be imposed on any player who deliberately attempts to injure or who deliberately injures an opponent in any manner.

21.2 Short-handed - A substitute player is permitted to replace the penalized player after five (5) minutes playing time has elapsed.

The match penalty, plus any additional penalties, shall be served by a player (excluding a goalkeeper) to be designated by the Manager or Coach of the offending team through the playing Captain, such player to take his place in the penalty box immediately.

For all match penalties, regardless of when imposed, or prescribed additional penalties, a total of ten minutes shall be charged in the records against the offending player.

In addition to the match penalty, the player shall be automatically suspended from further competition until the Commissioner has ruled on the issue. See also Rule 29 – Supplementary Discipline.

21.3 Reports - The Referee is required to report all match penalties and the surrounding circumstances to the Commissioner of the League immediately following the game in which they occur.

21.4 Infractions – Refer to the Reference Tables – Table 8 – Summary of Match Penalties for a list of the infractions that can result in a match penalty being assessed (see specific rule numbers for complete descriptions).
