STAR WARS: Episode 7 (All-Time #1 opening box office.) (1 Viewer)

So who do we think (or what does the internet say) everybody is playing?
Oscar Isaac is definitely Solo's son.Agree that Ridley could be the daughter, she actually looks like Portman a little bit.

Von Sydow, a Sith Lord or an elder statesman of the republic? That's an interesting casting.

Could Boyega be a relative of Lando, Mace Windu?

Adam Driver looks like a bad guy.

And could Serkis be the goofy sidekick?

Domhnall Gleeson as Luke's kid?

I still think Han dies in episode 7, setting up the next two movies for the children.
I hope not but it's what Harrison Ford always wanted so if the report is true he has a huge role in the next film perhaps he signed on after being assured Solo would be killed.
I would not mind it. I would love for JJ to explore a true revenge scenario for a few Jedi that Lucas refused to want to do.Of course this all depends on how good the actors are who might play the children. Having Luke lead them on a revenge mission in EP 8 and 9, only to lose one of them to the dark side would be really fun.
I like the idea, but it can't be a Jedi. It would work with Solo having a big part in this episode. He's the one that would go out for revenge, loses a kid to the dark side and dies trying to save them.
Revenge for the death of Leia... preferably in the opening scene.

Lots of fun rumors here

http://www.blastr.com/2014-5-2/rumor-day-title-jj-abrams-star-wars-episode-vii

With most of the cast list finally official, a new rumor is circulating that the official title of J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars sequel has also leaked into the wild. So what is it?

Take it with a grain of salt at the moment, but according to Movie Pilot, the film’s title will be Star Wars: Episode VII – The Order of the Jedi. They don’t cite any specific source, just that it's an "insider" on social media, so no clue on where they allegedly got the intel.

This isn’t the first title to start floating around, and many believed the film would be called A New Dawn, at least until Disney announced a new tie-in novel of the same name. The name isn’t flashy, but it makes sense the new sequel will be Jedi-focused, so who knows?

Another interesting bit: Their report states that Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong’o will be playing Asajj Ventress, who is a character used in the recently canceled Star Wars: Clone Wars series. Admittedly, it’s odd to think they’d carry over a Clone Wars character to the big screen — but we do know Clone Wars is still considered canon, so it’s certainly possible.

Other notes from the report include claims that Daisy Ridley is playing a member of the Solo family, Max Von Sydow’s character is a voice-only role, Luke Skywalker will be the “Obi-Wan” type character this time around, Han Solo is high commander of the New Republic, Leia is now the queen, and the big baddie will not be a Sith Lord.

All those tidbits are semi-plausible, but again, we’d take these with a grain of salt for now. The Han Solo bit makes some sense, especially coupled with reports that Harrison Ford will play a substantial role in Episode VII. High commander would probably translate into a key role, we’d think.

Why the hell would Leia be a queen?

seriously?

Why the hell would Leia be a queen?
Why wouldn't she be? Princess Leia?
Princess of what? An asteroid belt?
Alderaan. Her adopted mother was Queen.
I know. You do realize that the planet is...dust right? I think she ceases to be a princess of anything at that point.

ETA: I'm just having a little fun on a Friday. No need to some Star Wars nerd hit list or anything.

 Oh yea forgot it was the test subject for the Death Star. Nerd status revoked.

She'd still be a queen even though the planet blew up. She's the queen of the people. Like if the queen of England was here in the US and England blew up she'd still be the queen of the English people. There just wouldn't be very many of them left.

I heard there will be dinosaurs
Hopefully no unrealistic banking.
Its 3 hours of treaty talks between the New Republic and some backwater planetary system. I also hear Han goes somewhere so fast that he describes the length of time his voyage took in a unit of distance, and that there is a big lightsaber battle between Luke and that floating training ball thing while Luke is bored and waiting for Leia and Ambassador Calrissian to finish the treaty negotiation.

ETA: Also, c3po beats Chewie at Space Checkers and you do NOT wanna see the fallout from that!

I read somewhere that they're saying the villain will not be Sith this time around.
Please be Thrawn
As great as that would, I would put it at less than 10% chance.
While throwing out the Zahn trilogy, I doubt Kasdan and JJ would "steal" a character from another author that they just proclaimed as fan fiction.

A separate question though, with no Sith supposedly in the new film, will that mean little to no light saber battles?

They'll find a way to work it in. It is Star Wars and Disney probably has millions of light saber toys being built as we speak.

As for the Villain, I dont think it will be Thrawn but I wouldnt be surprised if they used the surviving Empire loyalists as the enemy.

I like this rumored title better than the last rumored title. From Aint It Cool news.

Hey folks, Harry here... in response to my article earlier today a new source has come forward to confirm information that I've been sitting on for over a month. As I've said - getting confirmation has been a #####. I know lots of people in JJ's camp - including JJ... but when I put the title to JJ... he never even responded. That alone was suspicious. But my original source had told me back in January that Abu Dhabi was a location, and when that came to be, he sent me a scoop that the title for STAR WARS EPISODE VII was THE ANCIENT FEAR.

I ran it by everyone in the editorial chatroom. Beaks, Merrick, Quint, Capone... everyone... and they rattled their sources cages - and couldn't get confirmation... BUT tonight... a source that I'm told to call Col. Mustard claimed completely on his own that "the working title" was THE ANCIENT FEAR....

He also stated that "it refers to Max Von Sydow's villain who makes Pazuzu look like a #####!"

Mandalorians? Might be fun to see a bunch of militant, Boba armor warlords throw down with all of their tech weapons.

Way better than droid armies or insectoids in refinery caves.

Not sure what this really means. Every Star Wars movie to date has had a "working title". But that doesn't mean it's the actual name of the movie (see "Blue Harvest")

I can definitely see them going the "Hydra" route and have fragments of the Empire science division working in secret labs to influence events and create threats.

Found this tidbit on the Blue Harvest story:
"It's entirely possible that this is a working title, of course," Taylor wrote. "You can't throw a stone in a crowd of Star Wars nerds without hitting someone who will tell you that the working title for 'Return of the Jedi' was 'Blue Harvest: Horror Beyond Imagination.' But that's not quite accurate, as it turns out. 'Blue Harvest' was used as a cover for a Star Wars movie, rather than a working title. Producer Howard Kazanjian says he came up with it as a canny way to get regular rates from film set vendors, who by that point would have jacked up their rates for anything with 'Star Wars' in the name.

I believe Blue Harvest was also used to hide production from fanboys to keep them from swarming and trying to infiltrate filming sites.

yes. and for this upcoming Star Wars there is also a secret name to hide it from fanboys and the world of the internets and it seems to be working to keep the real info that JJ and Lucasfilm don't want the public to know about. So far, at least.

Why the hell would Leia be a queen?
Why wouldn't she be? Princess Leia?
Princess of what? An asteroid belt?
Alderaan. Her adopted mother was Queen.
Wasnt her biological mom queen of Naboo as well?

I believe their queen was more like a president and elected (or served?) but wouldnt the daughter of their most beloved queen be a good fit as the next queen?

She was elected and served 2 terms. They wanted to extend her to a 3rd term but she felt she would do more good in the senate.

At the time of Leia's birth, Padme was no longer a queen for about 6 years.

She stopped being Queen in 25bby

Thanks, I knew it was something like that.

So one could believe that Leia could go and be elected queen of Naboo as well....

I figure it must be something pretty simple.

When the rebels finally won, Leia was obviously one of the important leaders. It would have made sense that she would have been plugged into what ever ruling body the rebels developed after Jedi and it also makes sense that she might have risen up the chain over the 30 years to become the head of the body.

As we know from Amidala, Queen does not mean something you get by birth, it just as much could mean an elected position.

What all Star Wars fans fail to truly understand (or so it seems or they are in just flat out denial) is the Episode 1-3 were not mae for them.

They were made for our kids.

I am an original trilogy fan. Those movies were my childhood.

Kids love the new ones along with The Clone Wars series.

It's about toys and video games.....just like it was for us.

Really....it's that simple. Episode III was really good. I don't care what anyone thinks. It was was a really good Star Wars movie.

Episode I....meh decent.

Episode II was pure crap except for the last 35 or so minutes. Even my son does not care to ever watch Episode II.

For the record his favorite is also the Empire Strikes Back. But then he loves Episode I and III.

He was 5 years old when I first showed all the movies to him. He just turned 8.

And he loves Jar Jar Binks. Darth Vadar is his favorite character.....but you get the point.

It was not for us.

I hope Episode VII rocks. JJ is a damn good film maker. Loved the Star Trek reboot and will be seeing the new one soon.
Late to the party here but my 4 year old loved the original trilogy and turned off TPM halway through and shows no interest in the next two movies. I guess he's just smartwr than your kid.

Hey all, I've been a pretty big fan of the Star Wars movies for years now, especially Episode 1 (Phantom Menace), but I haven't yet taken the time to really get into EU stuff. I was just watching the first three episodes again, commentaries, etc. and I realized I would really love to see these characters in other adventures, especially Jar Jar Binks. Can anybody into the EU tell me which books/comics/cartoons have good Jar Jar stories?

Also, has anyone heard if they'll be bringing him back for Episode VII? I know that he'd be old, but I don't know what the lifespan for a Gungan is supposed to be--they could probably find a way to bring him into the story. I was frankly surprised not to see more of him in Episode II and III with how big of a deal he is in I. Here's hoping JJ (JAR JAR??) Abrams gives us a little more depth on him.

I read somewhere that they're saying the villain will not be Sith this time around.
Gotta be Greedo's family, financed by the Hutts. Too much bad blood in the galaxy between the Solos and everyone they've stepped on to get to the top.
I don't know how legit the old comics are but the post-Jedi comics all had to do with bounty hunters and Han getting into adventures.

The Jedi/Sith thing was not the main storyline.
