Thought they would have done themselves a bit of service by trying to tie at least a few things into Ep. 1-3.
Excellent movie in any case.Insein said:Umm I've seen it.It's not a remake. It's a rehash like Star trek into darkness is to Wrath of Khan.Just left. So so good. Blew me away. Any "remake" comments are from people who haven't seen it.
You're Facebook friends with Tanner?I'm guessing the 6 negative reviews are people like this one friend I have from high school. He's the guy who complains about EVERY movie being made today. When they announced JJ was doing the movies, he declared that they would be horrible and has posted at least one thing a day on FB talking about how bad it was going to be. Guy was fun back in the day, but he's just become a bitter old man.So far 146 positive reviews, only 6 negative reviews and quite honestly most of the super critical ones actually said it was well made. Is this a spoiler if I say that
97% on the RT site...most tent pole films you would be happy to just clear the 60 mark. I thought 80+ would be good but wow.
Only 2hrs and 15 mins but yea. Still a tough call. Leaning towards not taking my little guys till Ep8.I want to see this just don't know if my 4 year old will sit through a 3 hour movie![]()

Was she scared at all? I am not so sure about taking my kids (including an 8 year old girl). My 8 year old daughter seemed to get bored. She says she liked it though. I'm sure it helped having an ### kicking girl as the lead.
We watched episode 4 and half of episode 5 before we saw 7. Kids loved it and wanted to finish 5 right away. I think my 8 year old daughter wants to watch 6 when she gets home from school today. The only issue I think a young kid would haveThose of you taking your kids... did they watch the other SW movies first?
I'm not going to get into what age is right for kids at this- different thread- but I do think there are ages that are too young... for both theirs and the movie-going public's sake.
not a scary movieWas she scared at all? I am not so sure about taking my kids (including an 8 year old girl). My 8 year old daughter seemed to get bored. She says she liked it though. I'm sure it helped having an ### kicking girl as the lead.
I took my 5 year old daughter and 6 year old son, both have seen the original trilogy (4,5,6). They both loved the movie and were not antsy, my daughter was scared at one point but she was sitting on my lap and closed her eyes and asked me to tell her when the scene was over.i dont' think there's anything so bad that a 5 yr old boy couldn't handle it.why would you take your 4 year old to a pg 13 movie? My son is 5 and a huge Star Wars fan but he's not seeing these until 7 at the earliest.I want to see this just don't know if my 4 year old will sit through a 3 hour movie![]()

Keep the spoilers to the other thread, bub.Their number 1 question watching 5 was
Why does Darth Vader want to kill his own son
He was never going to kill Luke - he told the emperor what he wanted to hear.Their number 1 question watching 5 was

Not judging - but how did you not know this?Thunderlips said:My five year old son said he loved it....but started to fall asleep in the middle. He seemed to handle it alright.....but if I knew it was PG-13 before we go the tickets....I don't think we would have taken him. ..particularly since he hasn't seen any of the other ones.

Only two of the seven have been PG-13. They can't possibly know it's the biggest opening in the galaxy.

I'll be disappointed if the remaining movies are not PG-13.4-6 came out before PG-13 was created.Only two of the seven have been PG-13. I think this is the same scene where one kid behind me started crying and screaming it was scary. My 7 and 9 year olds loved the movie. 7 year old got a bit squirmy at the half way point. 30 minutes of previews is ridiculous.I took my 5 year old daughter and 6 year old son, both have seen the original trilogy (4,5,6). He will always be the guy who tried to poison Elsinore beer, to me.Kind of neat to see Max Von Sydow after all these years. Dude is 86 but looks exactly the same as he did in Victory (34 years ago!) I understand he's joining Game of Thrones too.
I went to see it in standard. I'd imagine a lot of people were the same. Since theaters probably only have 1 or 2 for standard now, everyone has to wait for those few showing times to get in where 3d you just walk up any time and there's probably 5 showings available.Saw it last night and won't give anything away about the movie. But some odd things going into the movie. If you go, be careful about people coming out of other movies talking about it. A lady came walking out of the theater speaking loudly about the entire movie. I wanted to punch her in the throat. I bet she worked for Kohl's customer support.
One thing I'm still confuse on was when we entered the lobby, there was a huge line to one theater. Some people in customs and what not. Our theater was on the opposite side and there was no line. I figured they had already been let in. So we got our food and rushed to the theater. 10 minutes before the movie started, including us, there were about 5 groups seated. About 3 more groups filtered in after we sat down. I'd say the theater was about 1/16 full. So why the huge line for the other theater? My only guess is that more people went to see it in standard as opposed to 3D? We saw it in 3D. That doesn't make sense to me, but I can't think of another reason.
Anyway, it was awesome. Go see it.
