Jude Law is perfect for the Star Wars Universe. I may watch this just to see his character.Skeleton Crew first episode was good. I’ll watch the second tomorrow. Everything about it seems better than the acolyte.
I haven't watched yet. My friend described it as Goonies in Space, but also said it was the most fun he had on a Star Wars production, and he has done every show other than Andor. Said Jude Law and his character are great.

Growing up with the original trilogy was pretty awesome.Let's be honest, after ESB in 1980, it's been mostly down hill since with one disappointment after another
Rogue One was an exception not the norm
Disney has made the franchise into a joke
I will slightly disagree.Let's be honest, after ESB in 1980, it's been mostly down hill since with one disappointment after another

Yes it is a slow burn for sure.Andor is good but the pacing is ssssssssllllllllooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww
Still stand by this but one thing that greatly annoyed me is that one of the main characters says "that's so wizard" Not once but twice! I thought it was some more horrible Gen z/Gen Alpha slang (and I guess it is) but apparently it was something that some side character said in Ep1. It was dumb then and it's still dumb.Watched the first 2 episodes last night and it's not horrible but not real real great either. Disney Star Wars has lock on mediocre.
I was waiting for ET or Gertie to show up trick or treating.Watched the first episode, was ok. I dug seeing the almost regular houses/neighborhood though, that was a pretty cool visual experience.
Apparently? Does that mean you didn't remember that when the characters said it? Do you even Star Wars, bro?Still stand by this but one thing that greatly annoyed me is that one of the main characters says "that's so wizard" Not once but twice! I did not remember it eithernope, please take my nerd card while I bury my head in failure.
If you enjoyed Clone Wars, I would recommend giving Rebels a try if you have not seen it.I will slightly disagree.Let's be honest, after ESB in 1980, it's been mostly down hill since with one disappointment after another

I loved ROTJ and Episodes 1 and 3
Rogue One rocks and Solo is a fun movie IMO.
I really enjoyed The Force Awakens and the it went to crap in The Last Jedi (save for the throne room saber fight and the last battle with Lukes send off). Rise of Skywalker was decent.
The Mandolorian is awesome. It is total fan service to is Gen X’ers.
Ando kicks all kinds of ***.
I am going to give Skeleton Crew an honest chance once I can binge all the episodes.
Clone Wars and The Bad Batch are killer animated Star Wars shows….you might enjoy those MOP.
Yeah never watched Rebels…..will give that a go eventually. If you enjoyed Clone Wars, I would recommend giving Rebels a try if you have not seen it.I will slightly disagree.Let's be honest, after ESB in 1980, it's been mostly down hill since with one disappointment after another

Yea, this is how I feel about it. It's a little too wordy and not enough action, imo.Andor is good but the pacing is ssssssssllllllllooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww
Didn't get to it that weekend but am on Episode 7 right now while I am "working from home". Started it back up a couple nights ago.Might rewatch season 1 this weekend just because.
I was highly critical after a trailer and that was foolish of me.Caught up. Skeleton Crew is great fun. Pirates meets Goonies with Star Wars. Enjoying it.
Agreed. A lack of overall vision and the inability to follow through and execute on announced films has harmed the franchise under her leadership. Hopefully whoever they bring in to lead it in the future handles those areas better.Kathleen Kennedy will be stepping down as President of Lucas Film this year.
While there have been some good TV shows under her watch, for me her lasting impression on the franchise was not making sure there was one almighty outline for the sequel trilogy and making sure each movie followed it no matter what direction the director wanted to take with an individual movie.
Weird they couldn’t get this together for the movies but the tv shows seem to have some sort of outline. I guess the tv shows came after the movies so maybe they learned something.Kathleen Kennedy will be stepping down as President of Lucas Film this year.

I think the difference maybe is that for the most part the tv shows had a single person in charge of the over all story (Filoni, Favreau, Gilroy etc)Weird they couldn’t get this together for the movies but the tv shows seem to have some sort of outline. That whole thing should probably be studied in business school as a case study in how to screw up a billion-dollar business.I think the difference maybe is that for the most part the tv shows had a single person in charge of the over all story (Filoni, Favreau, Gilroy etc)Weird they couldn’t get this together for the movies but the tv shows seem to have some sort of outline. The movies seemed to be missing the Kevin Feige presence to assure things stay on the rails. I had assumed this was suppose to be Kennedy for the trilogy but it really ended up being the individual directors who had completely divergent ideas of how the story was going to flow.
If it's not a combo of Filoni and Favreau I'll be very sad.Agreed. TBF, they all made a LOT of money (Force ~2B, Last Jedi - 1.3B, Rise -1B) with Force being the 2nd highest-grossing SW movie of all time. IMO this is definitely not screwing up a business. I think they tried to correct this when they put Filoni in creative control of SW in 23, it seems that things have been a bit more tied together. I guess we'll see when the next trilogy comes out.I think the difference maybe is that for the most part the tv shows had a single person in charge of the over all story (Filoni, Favreau, Gilroy etc)Weird they couldn’t get this together for the movies but the tv shows seem to have some sort of outline. It's still a multi billion dollar businessThat whole thing should probably be studied in business school as a case study in how to screw up a billion-dollar business.
That probably has as much to do with pent up demand. The downward trend from $2b to $1b across the sequels had to set off a lot of alarm bells.TBF, they all made a LOT of money (Force ~2B, Last Jedi - 1.3B, Rise -1B) with Force being the 2nd highest-grossing SW movie of all time. Sure but it still made a ridiculous amount of money. That probably has as much to do with pent up demand. Yes but, and there's no way to answer this, how much more was left on the table?Sure but it still made a ridiculous amount of money. That probably has as much to do with pent up demand. I was a bit shocked that Rise earned 1 B despite all the negativity surrounding it. I guess we will find out in 26 when the next trilogy is set to start.Yes but, and there's no way to answer this, how much more was left on the table?Sure but it still made a ridiculous amount of money. That probably has as much to do with pent up demand. I'm not going to be too anti-Kennedy. She didn't really treat it much worse than Lucas himself did.
Yeah, I know. My post was too broadly worded. But I think they’ve left a ton of money on the table, let’s put it that way. It's still a multi billion dollar businessThat whole thing should probably be studied in business school as a case study in how to screw up a billion-dollar business.

Looks great. Sign me up.Andor Season 2 Trailer![]()
Reminds me of Return of the Jedi, a movie that was made for kids and was largely awful. Finally watched Skeleton Crew with the kids. I enjoyed it a lot and the kids absolutely loved it. Great stuff.
I think that's a good lesson on expectations for us as I'm going to say something probably controversial here but, objectively, Skeleton Crew was awful. But we all went into it knowing it was for kids so we set our expectations very differently, and just enjoyed it for what it was. Standing on their own, Acolyte was a better show than Skeleton Crew. We just went into each expecting that Acolyte was going to be for adult us, but knowing that Skeleton Crew wasn't.
I think this has been a problem for Star Wars for a long time. They're kind of stuck in this middle area where they want to make it good and serious for adults that grew up with Star Wars, but also fun and campy to capture a new era of kids to keep the franchise churning into the next generation.
Andor made for adults? Amazing. Skeleton Crew made for kids? Great fun, when entering with those expectations.
All the other stuff that tries to shoot the middle and hit both? Meh.
Not sure if I mentioned this in here already or not, but my son absolutely loved Skeleton Crew. It was fun watching it with him. Finally watched Skeleton Crew with the kids. I enjoyed it a lot and the kids absolutely loved it. Great stuff.
Speaking of my son... he really likes the opening battle in RotS - I'll have to take him to this one, that will be cool for him to see on the big screen.Revenge of the Sith will be back in theaters on April 25th for the 20th anniversary. With a badass new poster too.

I always thought Mandalorian must have been a movie that got turned into a show. I can't remember the specific episodes, but it felt like (something like) episodes 1, 2, 7, and 8 made a really good movie, and the middle episodes were almost monster of the week that weren't necessary to the main story.Weird they couldn’t get this together for the movies but the tv shows seem to have some sort of outline.
